  • As someone who progressed and still actively works on a ton of these aspects. These are PHENOMENAL tips. I very much struggle with tempo switching. I have rather bad ping and focus on pressuring players. My duo partner is defensive and thrives with people pressuring him. He's the better of us two, but our playstyles were further enhanced by 1v1ing each other so much. There's time where he has a great opportunity and delays closing out a fight and where I go too aggressive and don't pace myself. Another tip from here is I would focus on my builds and edits too hard. I would work on the LATEST meta builds and edits and would focus on executing them instead of focusing on my opponent and letting the builds come naturally. This comes down to a fundemental of spending warmup time building/editing and then warming up with fighting someone and letting those happen organically.

    • im also struggling a lot rn with the part of 'focusing on builds/edits too much' bcz im from a competitive era where good mechanics werent THIS regular. Im champion rn and every person i run into has insane mechs and when i played a lot during chapter 2 i remember i could shit on people at times pretty hard in div 8/9 bcz back then mechanics were a p big thing yk but now i heard almost any decent competitive player can do these insane edit courses that used to be called insane and now its just dependant on playstyle and aim aparently

    • @@user-wf2qz2vw4s Yea, the majority of the competitive base has relatively strong builds and edits. What separates now is positioning and peeks mainly. Long range edits can throw people off too. I generally just go with the flow now and let my builds do whatever and focus on opponents position and making sure i'm holding a good angle on them.

  • One thing that helped my awareness (aka keeping track of opponent) is separating my movement binds from my building binds. That allows me to keep my crosshair/vision on my opponent the majority of the time. When I say separate movement binds from building binds I mean making them independent of one another - being able to do both things at the same time - the bad scenario would be when you have to remove your building keys to move and when you have to remove your movement keys in order to build. Make sure they are on different fingers.

  • A tip with peeks this video doesn't mention is standing back from the builds a bit. He mentioned being on top of the builds, but this is NOT optimal. Creating a gap and doing longer ranged peeks and edits is more beneficial for one reason. RED "X". When too close to a build despite seeing your opponent, you risk shooting the build. This is highly prevalent with window edits. If hugging the window, you risk shooting the frame instead of your enemy. Backing up some and even using the cone as additional protection, despite requiring extra aim and slightly decreased dmg, will allow you to get off safer chip damage. Executed effeciently this costs almost no loss of dmg while much safer and more consistent.

    • @glucglucx . Bro I have a friend that rages so bad. He refuses to learn from his own mistakes. I play with him all the time. But like, im getting tired of it. Cause I want somebody to play with that understands they got outplayed when they die. I want a grind buddy to play with daily that dosnt have severe anger issues. I want a teamate thats willing to learn off their other teamates/oponents. Instead, my friend rages and calls everyone that kills him, a hacker. Reports them and everything. It's all bad. Embarrassing tbh. I just don't know where to find people to game with. 😕I tried disboard but people were to busy working, or simply didn't care. So I honestly get bored of fortnite now because all I play is solo. The times that I am playing duo, trio, or squads, it's irritating because there's that one person raging after they die on the game. He even blames his dog somtimes. One time his literal exuse to him dying was "My dog was licking my bed, so I lost. And the guy was hacking." It literally makes 0 sense to me. 😢

I have mine on for both edit and reset, but I just tried doing the peanut butter edit safely as u explained & its difficult for me to hold the edit while pressing w against the wall...I keep accidentally selecting the middle tile too thus having to reset and start over. If I look straight up I can do it safely but my crosshair placement would not be on the opponent.. do I just need to practice this more or should I turn off edit on release? I am new to KBM and would appreciate any advice on this

    • edit on release off is more optimal and gives you greater control, it's also an extra button to press...depends how much time you want to invest. Edit on release on is a shortcut, there are still plenty of safe peaks and good plays you can make but it will restrict you. Depends on the standard youre at. For most pubs players its fine
