Learned in the 70's….maybe Diet for a Small Planet….why not feed baby something packaged before baby was conceived? Hey yeah, what was I thinking. It’s so easy to soften what the family is eating, vegetable broth or something. If you can smush it with a fork, no need for using a blender, or use a pie crust cutter…moisten whatever it is to get out the lumps. No cornstarch or flavor enhancers or salt or sugar. No shopping, no standing in line, no packaging waste. Saves money. We can innovate like crazy. I once used cinnamon graham cracker to thicken watery green beans. The box was sitting right there, we were making a mess otherwise. Half a cracker absorbed the juice and made it easier to feed. Baby 's eyes said it all….where’s that been?? Feeding a baby is one of the joys of living. Don’t rush, don’t push. Baby is processing taste, time is needed to categorize. Oh. We have a file started.

Thank you Flowers! I was thinking the exact same thing! When my kid was that age, I always heated it up. Now that he has the taste of fruit baby food, good luck feeding him anything else.

How do you know it wasn't heated up. I used to heat up my kids baby right in the jar. It takes babies time to acquire a taste for anything after formula or breast milk. She's not trying to torture her child she's trying to feed her. Good job and good try mama

It even looks disgusting. But i have never understood parents opening a jar and feeding that to their babies. You have to warm it. We don't open jars and cans and not heat it up before we eat it.

I think it comes with age as a parent & having 5 of those youngins running around. Never start off with sweet...they developed a taste for sweet real fast. Also it takes about 10 tries for a little one to require the taste. UT I widh her well. It's a cutie baby.

I have 6 kids. All started out with rice cereal. With bananas mixed in. None were fussy eaters, but after a strong negative reaction to a food, we would stop and try again when they were older. That baby just did not like turkey. Most babies under 9 months do not care much for meat.

The babies that are eating make me laugh .One doesn't like the Turkey. Well let the mom taste it..its nasty..Who ever heard of cream Turkey. Or cream string beans .Ugh .Poor kids..Give mashed potatoes or bananas.

It facinates me that a baby is fed like one thing...Like a jar of carrots etc...I take 3 jars and make a real meal or 2or three...A potatoe or pasta, vegetable and a meat..They loved it..The other meals do well in the fridge or can be frozen for a later date...I know I wouldnt want a meal of just one thing...This I did only for their dinner..

That's why we have spoiled brats as children & grandchildren that cry at the drop of a hat. They think they are entitled & due without working their butts off. I paid for 5 collage degrees ma'am. They never had to work while going to college as long as their grades were decent...decent is the word here. Things were cheaper you say...well we didn't have Dollar Tree's to shop at where we could buy things for a buck....or Wal-Mart's. Mine nor my husband ever made the salaries these kids make today. We lived in homes that we were able to afford..we took family vacations...family vacations...not a honeymoon, 5 year, 10, 20 year honeymoons. We had one car that was on the newer side while dad drove as best as we could afford. We put money assist for a rainy day. Most of the time we lived payday to payday. We didn't smoke, do drugs or go to bars. We, my friend, had it hard. We buckled down & did the best we knew how. I've worked with these millenniums...asking them to carry their load...work 40 hour weeks...stay off their cells (that's a joke) & see their starting salaries for someone who has zero experience but know how to read, write, and pass a test...but couldn't get themselves out of a wet paper bag...so ma'am...you have replied to the wrong baby boomer. I could keep on going but it seems you are one of these I am speaking of..it wouldn't do any good anyway...now get back to studying...or if you are at work...put your cell down & earn you salary hon.

It takes 10 times to feed a baby something for her/him to like the taste. What grips me the most is feeding it straight out of a jar..cold...do you eat your turkey cold unless its on a sandwich. Make it a meal...warm up the veg and turkey i bet he will like it a lot better. Dont ever start them with sweet stuff...banana etc...thats a deal breaker...

@@flowersflowers5070 trust me, warming the jarred meats does not help. With my first, who was not picky, I gave him both warm and then cold. He cried either way. I didn't taste it until I saw his reaction. It is truly awful. You might mix it with a fruit they like. That worked on him, but not my others. Good luck mom.
