For the first time, I am in the market for new laptop, and have money to spend and we get offered this 'new' model with last years Intel chip, no AMD option, no 11th gen Intel, and higher price point with heavy focus on fast fps e-sports panels only - not everyone cares for 240, 300 + hz panels, stop making that the main selling point on these 2021 refurbs from 2020
Lenovo has a 240Hz 500nits HDR400 panel in their 2020 Legion7. I hoped more OEMs use it in 2021 but most moved from overkill 300hz to even more useless 360hz. On the CPUs I also agree that 14nm/Skylake refreshes are dead. But I guess they didn't want to wait till Aprill. Hope we see Mid 2021 models with Tiger-Lake and / or Zen3.

@@thestrangler2688 Sorry if I’m not being specific, I’ve read many complaints for virtually any kind of Razer notebook. It seems though that the Base models are especially bad. I really want a Blade, but I’m worrying it’ll give me all kinds of problems (overheating, bsod, pwm flickering, battery bloating, etc).
@@amalek.92 keep in mind they are one the most underperfoming laptops (Since they undervolt everything and use maxq). Their quality (materials) is the best there is no question in that. But even with the undervolting it will probably still run hot due to its slim design. There is a channel called jarrodstech or smth like that, i would suggest watching his review on the blade.

Looking forward for a Stealth 13 Mid 2021 refresh with H35 and RTX3050. That would be the perfect mobile powerhouse. The H35 ist basically just a Core i7-1185G7 with 35 instead of 28 Watt so it should work. The RTX3050 should provide a substantial upgrade to a 1650Ti.
@@mbv88xxx It would be more like a 30% perf. uplift based on what we've seen on the other 30 series mobile GPU skews. However, H35 in a Stealth 13 would make my purchase of the Late 2020 Stealth look stupid. Who knows if it will happen, but I sure hope it does.

@@songsoep2396 That would have been cool, but if anything they would keep the 11th Gen i7 and upgrade the dGPU. In all honesty, the Stealth is a near perfect machine that can only be improved on a few factors in its current chassis being: RTX, Chroma RGB, CNC finish, and power efficiency. The reason why Razer hasn't used Ryzen is because using a eGPU is not easy on a Ryzen based system (they care about their revenues) and as much as people say nobody buys eGPUs, people do. What I think SHOULD have been reasonable to expect is H35 in the Blade Base models and 11th Gen H-CPUs (later this year) in their Advanced models. We will never know what their engineering team is actually thinking or doing, but it's the best we can hope for I suppose.

Bought a 2017 Razer Blade Pro, worked for 42 days, then unit wouldn't post. Out of warranty, so tried 4 motherboards, all of which had the same problem. Part number RZ09-01663E52. But hey, it looks nice!

@Razer you have great products but your Blade 15 series has to step up: - Please change the ugly green plastic logo on the back to a RGB light like you have on your mouses, headsets, etc. or make it grey like on the Stealth. Same applies to the USB ports. - Try to fit bigger batteries in your notebooks and don't cheap out on the Base version. Both the Advanced and Base Just put 240hz HDR400 or even HDR600 screens in there and it would make everyone happy. This and Intels 14nm CPUs are the reasons why I sent back my Blade 15 Advanced 2080 Super as you can't use it outside, mobile and meeting with others. I am willing to give you another chance with Tiger-/Alder-Lake but these points have to improve!

It would be the best, if it replaces i9 11900H gen with Ryzen 9 5980HX. Use top of the line Ryzen processors with sustainable cooling, and slightly larger battery. Only then it will be the best like once it was.

I got razer blade 15 base 2020 3 weeks ago and............ I had the worst experience freaking 3 replace and still things are worst First Week First Replacement: Battery, Fan and charger pin Issue. The battery overcharged and heated up at idle so much that the processor was confused "should I heat up or the battery???" and the fan issue was that as soon as you move your laptop from one place to another the fan started making ticking noises and the plastic coating on the pin had some barely visible scratches like you put the pin on a floor and grab a heavy piece of rock and hit it few times and then clean it up with a cloth how will it look like? this is how exactly it was looking like but only the plastic coating the pin was hope fully good. Second Week Second Replacement: Hinge Issue and speakers issue so as the laptops is a fingerprint magnet because of the texture on it you have to clean it time by time and I can live with the because of the beauty it offers but almost every other thing about this laptop sucks I was cleaning this laptop and I wiped my cloth on the hinge of the laptop and heard a crackling noise "What's that?" I wiped it again and the same crackling noise so I decided to return this tomorrow as it was night and I had an idea that I should also test out the rest of the things like battery, speakers, keyboard, trackpad etc so the battery was perfect keyboard and trackpad had no problem but when I came to speakers another story begin the right speaker had 26% lower volume than the left one and even on a low volume the speaker was making a weird noise and had way less bass than the left one the fan issue was also resolved, 2 issues gone 2 issue came wow what an excellent job razer! keep up this ******** work with every laptop you make!!! and this issue was not only present in 1 laptop or 2 laptop in 3 laptops that I've tested so far and I know there will be soo many more laptops that will have different issues just like the 2019 models had what improvements did you made? making the right Shift key bigger? that was already bigger in the 2018 model that was your improvement? Third Week Third Replacement: Another Shiny looking laptop Another Shinny Unboxing Another WTF Same Speaker Issue but this time had little more sound than the previous one this time around 20% and the same hinge crackling little bit stiffer than before because the in the previous one I could barely feel it even if you put a short amount of weight and one more issue got present it's the right fan (GPU Fan) It's loose If you move the laptop a little bit the right fan make sound like there is something like a piece of plastic stuck in it I don't if if it's something els the battery is not the issue in this one and the previous on it was only a problem in the first one but one thing to keep in mind is that there are no standers of a battery capacity as I've tested the batter in every laptop and they all hade different capacity like the second one has gone to 72 watts after doing a full charges from 25% to 100% this one has just got to 66.5W and it is fixed there the first one had got to over 78W and then next day fall to 54W and every razer laptop I've found yet has a battery life of 1- 1 hours and 50 minutes with a normal use on just web browsing on chrome and when you do stuff like photo shop, primer pro or just play Microsoft Solitaire the battery last around 45 to 53 minutes and shows the battery warning that is defaultly set to 10% low battery and 5% critical if you chose every settings default like you just simply installed the windows that comes with razer and you don't mess around with the setting which is also called "Factory Settings" I'm just a normal guy not a "Reviewer" or anything I'm just sharing how I've been treated by razer and I know The time that have gone wasted and that struggle I don't think any actions would be taken on me because simply they don't care. A great lesson from razer🙁

Honestly? No. Use your money to travel, or learn a new skill. Broaden your horizons! Prioritize your education, make new friends and enjoy new experiences. All being well you'll be too busy and having way too much fun to be gaming anyway. Besides, there are plenty of games (indy or otherwise) that work well on low end systems provided you already have some sort of laptop suitable for writing and researching essays etc. Razer's trinkets can wait a few years fella. Best of luck in college, make the most of it!

I bought an advanced model in November, had screen flickering. Bought a new one in January, dead pixels. Far from the "best"
Bought my last blade in 2014 and it was a worthy investment. Got the best version possible with 3080. AMD and a better battery life is a must for the next version. Cyberpunk looks beautiful with the 4K display. These laptops are super cool and worth the money.. razer just needs to update a few things. I think razer should open up brick and mortar stores in the USA as a means of expanding the customer base and driving the price point down. That and they should have a trade-in program as a means of recycling parts so people can upgrade their blades and resources can be salvaged.

@@bluesketch3874 if you want it, buy it. There isn't much point buying a 11th gen cpu because gaming revolves around the gpu instead. A 10th gen is already enough unless you're going to play on 8k which is highly unlikely. Intel doesn't necessarily have bad cpu, a 10th gen is already enough, but better be quick because the cryptocurrency miners/scalpers are taking the laptops now. It's either you wait a few months or do it now.
