Have you wondered how many hours flight attendants fly in a month? What does the flying pattern look like? This video is going to give you the lowdown on my flying schedule in January 2024. From Taipei turnaround and Hokkaido overnight to Toronto's five-day pattern, I will show you how I prepare for work, what I do and eat during the layover, and the amazing views from the windows of the aircraft. First time I got your vlog as a recommendation. Enjoyed it immensely. I have traveled from ORD to ICN and its a long haul for the flight crew and passengers can be demanding . Can only hope the flight attendants and crew get some decent rest. Loved your meal experiences!

I usually fly sq but recently flew on cx and i find that the cathay flight crew can be a bit unfriendly and unapproachable. If only I'm lucky enough to be on your flight haha ❤

SQ had the government and the people behind them thru a tough period. CX crew morale is low, management and government won't bulge on their differences.

As a former flight attendant I have to admit that your roster was pretty tough 🥵 I hope you can cope with that. It's definitely not that healthy. I can still remember my red eyes flights across several hours' time difference and the continents. Good to see that you had 3 days off in Toronto. Well, for us, the crews of Lufthansa German Airlines, our layovers in Toronto were just 24 hrs. I loved to fly to HK ❤ We stayed there for a 48 hrs. layover, giving me enough time to explore your city. I enjoyed countless layovers during my career as a flight attendant from 1982 - 2015 in HK ❤ So I witnessed all the changes over 3 decades. I hope to visit HK again as a tourist as soon as possible. As a retiree of Lufthansa I am still eligible to buy discounted ID-tickets for Cathay as well. All the best for you, and always happy landings!
Thanks for your comment😊Things have changed a lot since Covid and the job has been more difficult than before. It’s definitely not a healthy lifestyle but I just can’t give up on the perks of travelling around and ID tickets! A former co-worker who lives near my home told me that it has become more stressful and most flights are fully booked. Good for the airlines, but not so good if you want to travel on stand-by. I can really understand you, the 'job' of a flight attendant is definitely a unique and fascinating lifestyle. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can keep doing this for as long as you want! One of my very last duty-flights led me to Hongkong ❤️ in early 2015. And I immersed myself in your city even more thoroughly 😊 When taking off from HKG for the very last time, I couldn't hold back a small tear 😢 In 2018 I was able to visit your home city again as a tourist, and I immediately felt like home away from home ❤️

I'm applying for some other airlines and it would be super helpful to have some realistic numbers for comparison among them. Thank you so much!
The salary is basically your flying hours + allowance. It's hard to give you a concrete number as everyone has a different roster. You may expect HKD15k-20k per month for a new joiner after training. If you're lucky, you can get more

@@akemi2929 The crew usually share flat with their housing allowance. The pay wouldn't afford a luxurious life but it's more about seeing the world
@@crystalonthejourney I saw this comment wayyy too late. 😅 Today is the last day of application for Cathay in my country. And I'm already leaving for joining the biggest Airline in my country. I was actually scared of moving to a country so far away from my home... Where I don't have any family and friends. So yeah... After lots of thinking I decided to go ahead with this airline who has already hired me. my joining is on Friday after Class 2 medicals. ❤️😇 Let's hope we meet at some time when/if I go to HongKong for any layover. 😻

CX is one of two airlines I usually take to see family. They are efficient but don’t like the second meal served at midpoint rather than prior to landing. Volunteered twice for medical emergencies, first one given drinks and sandwich, and the second just a medical form to complete. Thought we might lose one passenger on the Vancouver flight but he made it at the end.
Glad that the passenger made it. Fortunately, I have never encountered a serious medical case
I am away from home for 26 years, living in Johannesburg of South Africa, I always travel home by flying with Cathay Pacific JNB-HKG-KHH. I was excited when CX resumed the flight to JNB on 1 August 2023, and I went home end of February 2024 for the first time in 5 years, I was there for 1 month to spend time with my grandparents, they are in their 90s. I would like to thank all the CX cabin crews for all the hard work and dedications, looking forward to fly with CX in the next trip. Thank you very much for the videos, I enjoy watching it, wish you all the best 🙏🙂✌

It’s one of my favourite hotels 😊 Red-eye flights are tough for me and hopefully I won’t see them on my upcoming rosters
As a tourist of Taiwanese , I like Cathy Pacific ,HK airport and HK city very much, because it bring me many nice memories. The professional crew, beautiful airport, convenient Airport Express, delicious food and efficient traffic, I wonder to travel HK this year. Althrough many people say the cathay's crew or HK people are unfriendly and unapproachable, my experience seems are always pleasant feelings. Like your videos, and wish you can keep your health. Hi. Your videos are amazing. I have question. What camera did you use to film your videos? and also what software app did you use to edit your videos? do you do the editing on your laptop? Also, did you use selfie stick as well whilst filming your videos? I am currently in the process of learning how to edit my travel videos etc. any advice would be much appreciated.

I’m curious, breakfasts are also not included in layovers? Just the allowance, And also hotels usually have kettle, I wonder if in Toronto they don’t provide? That’s why you’re carrying it your own for noodles
Breakfast is not included but we have a discount rate. Most hotels have kettles but most of us prefer to bring our own

My goal is to join cathay pacific and become a pilot in the airlines. If possible I could fly the b777. Living in Hong Kong, I think cathay pacific is a suitable airline to spend time with family the most, and hang out with friends in hong kong. If i get my opportunity to fly with cathay pacific, I hope that you will be in my aircraft soon!

I will complete my bachelor in may so they require either bachelor degree or experiences (recruitment event will be also in may) Is that okay to carry a letter from the institute to the assessment day to prove that I will hold a degree in the near future?( take few months to obtain the transcript after the final exams though ) Will they accept it?

hi nice, vlog, just to ask a question for continuos flight , ike example i take air china beijing to kuala lumpur malaysia 6 hours 30 mins, does the cabin crew allow to have 2 flight in same days means 6 hours 30 mins x 2 = 13 hours in same days, hope to get your info thanks malaysia
We can fly two flights in a day, but the maximum duty hour is 14

Cathay is lucky to have you, you are awesome! My recent CX experience was not that good, actually. I found them a bit unfriendly towards Asian/Chinese people while smiling at white/Caucasian people. They were not rude, but you could definitely spot the difference, can’t figure out why they do that I mean white superiority is so last century
