  • Question for you: How many trips do you have planned for the year? If you redeemed points, which have been your favorite redemptions? 👇

  • Let's gooo!! Love hearing about travel plans and it was awesome that you were able to find such a low-cost redemption to Osaka! To answer your hypothetical, I think a factor would definitely be if there are other travel plans that you think would also be a good use of the FHR Credit, but in general with Globalist from the Guest of Honor, I think I'd go the status path. Great video as always Kevin!

    • Thanks Matt! Yeah Globalist is a big draw, but I'm not sure if I have enough nights... may need to somehow find another 4-5 day trip within that timeframe which could be tough...

  • Do you have a video on booking economy first and then upgrading to business later on? I have 2 flights booked in Sept that didnt have business availability but had some for economy. One flight is on LOT and the other is KLM

  • These credit card strategies are like investing. We can learn a lot from each other, but the end decisions and strategies are based on each person/family's goals/objectives. And like investing, the strategies are likely not static. Rather, life takes turns and shifts all the time. For example, cards we might have had during the pandemic lockdowns may not be as compelling right now.

  • So think my company is eligible for the Hyatt challenge! I tried registering and it sent me a confirmation email and I was going to wait to click it until I’m ready for the clock to start. But the challenge started now, guess I gotta figure out if I can stay an extra 15 nights more than planned in the next 3 months 😬

    • Thanks for sharing that datapoint! Do you know the offer? I would expect 80k, but any higher like 100k would be amazing

      @KevinYang@KevinYang19 күн бұрын
    • @@KevinYang I was told 85k for in-branch sign up. 75k points when you spend $4000 in first 3 months and 10k bonus points when you spend $6,000 in the first 6 months.

      @Aguynearu@Aguynearu19 күн бұрын
    • @@MyNameJim That's an interesting one, higher than the 80k they had before, but not as high as 100k. Also not the biggest fan of more and more cards splitting up the spend like that...

      @KevinYang@KevinYang19 күн бұрын
    • @@Aguynearu yes, offer starts Sunday even though branches are closed. But it should go public and can be redeemed in branch the following Monday

  • Hey Kevin, I understand you were saying that you are looking into a new card to put all this spend on for your award flights. When you book award flights, do you usually pay with a card that offers travel protection? If you had a spending bonus on a card that had no travel protection, and you didn't have a spending bonus on a card that offers travel protection, which card would you book your award flights with? That is my current dilemma. Thank you in advance.

    @ericknguyen0617@ericknguyen061719 күн бұрын
    • That's a great point! I do tend to see which cards offer travel protection, especially when only paying a portion of the cost with the card. It's really a trade off! Personally because so many of my flights are with points, the amount I'm paying with the card is only the $100 or so of fees, so I would lean towards travel protection for peace of mind, then put all the spend I do *during* the trip on the other card
