  • Excellent suggestion about taking it back to 0Nm. Just done that on mine. Also will help each time to get back to the desired torque.

  • Thanks for the video Jordan. Personally I have a Wiha set which has a range up to 5nm. Must admit I haven’t used it much but your videos have made me more aware of where to use it. Keep up the good work!

  • The wera is nice tbh. I went for the Draper. It is cheaper but can be hard to read scale. You get used to it after a while.

  • Hi Jordan another excellent video can you try and fit something in a video explaining the difference between ph ,pz,and sl type bit ends on drivers and impact bits. Very useful for the unknowing out there.

  • Hi Jordan, excellent video as always. Just for interest, Wera now do a Series 7400 VDE Kraftform adjustable torque handle that does 0.3 to 3.5 Nm

  • I’ll have the Draper and the Wera. Goes without saying the Wera is a better quality although the Draper is still very good. Sadly this is another expense to us sparks having to calibrate them alongside other test equipment.

  • I’m hopeful that with NEC 2020 requiring proper torque that Wera comes out with one starts 2.25NM (20 in-lbs) and goes to like 6NM (53.1 in-lbs) and we’ll still need a torque wench with Allen key sockets for incoming service... Thank you for your year revisit on this tool.

    • Yeah it’s too small for some of the main switches in our consumer units Hager the most popular one 3.5Nm

    • This is the same as a discussion I was having with an ex-employee, I know I can set my Bosch Hand Drill to number 7 whilst I'm arming up the board and pinch them up with a normal driver afterwards. Never opened up a quality breaker, twisted the terminals or have one burn out in 32 years.

  • I brought the Armeg set, unfortunately it only comes with a few screw driver attachments, you have to buy the rest separately. I need to get the T,handle

  • Do you get your MFT calibrated each year? If you do, then why? Surely, if you are going to the effort of using a torque driver, you should be checking that it is working correctly. Wera do three VDE torque drivers (with different torque ranges). It's just a shame that the only one that is available in a set is the one that only goes up to 3Nm.

    • Get a 2nd torque screwdriver and use just to calibrate on a screw you’ve tighten, say ever month.

  • I bought this Wera torque driver kit after your other video, I already have the dual handle regular kit too, love them, been using for 2 years and still no wear to the tips. The torque kit gets used less as I don't do much board work these days, but i do like to check them if I open a board. As for the Main isolator switches, just go to the highest setting on the Wera, then just over tighten up as much as you can, tighter is better than not tight lol, Just another reg to get crap electricians to do their job properly. The other gripe I have is that copper is a soft metal, and as soon as you tighten the terminals to a specific torque, then subject that terminal to load currents, heat, and movement, the torque that you set it to becomes drastically less anyway, so whats the point?... how is it even traceable what someone sets it too? crazy. Oh, i also clean my tools regularly, It keeps them in top shape, and as you say, take pride in your work, and stay sharp, ready, and looks more professional as well as getting optimum performance from your kit. ;-)

    • @@paul_my_plumbs_uk Fair enough, I'd look to Wiha anyhow, but I don't think I'd get one as I've not seen tightening breakers up being a problem in 31 years. Never had a breaker burn out or a quality MCB etc have it's terminals twisted due to over tightening. I've had it happen on shitty stuff.

      @9plusinstalaciones@9plusinstalaciones4 жыл бұрын

  • Calibration on tools used on documentations is required. Let say shit goes south, and they blame you for over tightening the terminals, you can never defend yourself if you claim you used a tool with x torque settings if you have not listed the tool or have valid documentations. This is the main reason electricians in general skips tools like this, because without the maintenance it’s really worthless. Take a megger for instance, we own 19 mergers, we send them in every year for calibration with 100 other tools. This is for our own safety if something goes wrong, but it also happens that costumers require paperwork on the tools we use and by law we have to provide the costumer all paperwork regarding the tools we use.
