  • Pro tip: If you get the squeezable lemon or lime juice at any grocery store and squirt it on your fingers it helps grip the shrimp alot better when cleaning them. And adds to the flavor. Tip from an acient ancestor

  • It’s cool you guys have figured out the walking shrimp dance. Just as satisfying as watching spearfishing. Thx!! P.S. I am a cleaner. While things are coming together, I even go as far as washing or placing things in the dishwasher. I even plate the food & put everything away so we can relax during & after a meal. My wife is the exact opposite. You need a bulldozer, a street cleaner, & 2-days to clean up after she makes anything even PB&J!! Sometimes I just want a can of gas & a match or case of dynamite after she cooks. That’s why I cook 92% of our meals, eat out 7.5%, & only allow her to cook .5% of the time.

I also caretake my wife so I am always washing them, which is no problem for me. You are a very encouraging married couple. Appreciate how you encourage one another. The way it should be.

  • Holy mackerel, man does that look yummie. There is nothing better than breakfast outside in the keys. My wife and i would eat breakfast on the deck outside of a pharmacy / mini grocery down near the end of duval. We would stay at a hotel called the reach. This guy would set up his little kitchen it the space between the buildings, and whip up breakfast. Memories ,man what I wouldn’t give to go back in time. That was 35 yrs ago. THANK YOU for the little bit of time travel .

  • In the kitchen, I'll rinse and dishwasher load the easy stuff as I go and soak the tough stuff (like a hot cast iron skillet). I do that so I can eat the meal while it's hot. The skillet will heat some water and dawn so it's easy to clean after I eat. If I'm on a Blackstone cooktop I'll clean it real quick because it's easier.

  • We do it completely different in coastal S.Carolina. We go into the salt water creeks put up a long stick in the water and then get a canned dog food can and put holes all over the can. Then drop the can next to the stick and do the dame thing over and over up the creek every 30-40 yards. Then wait about an hour or so and go back and cast net right next to the sticks. Usually get a big cooler full of med to jumbo shrimp in less than an hour!👍👍. Its much easier than wading and trying to net them.

  • Glad you remembered the huevos on the huevos rancheros! Great job shrimping, cooking, and assembling! I am now working on a huevos rancheros tortilla wrap with a larger tortilla - that way every bite is a perfect bite! Also cuts down on silver ware to wash....after the meal for me. Multi-tasking is not on top of my personal skills chart and something always either burns or gets cold if I'm trying to clean as I go. No matter what, the eggs, butter, sauces, etc. always go back in the fridge as soon as I'm done with them - and left-overs get put away as soon as they become "left-overs!" Now it's time for the Mad Shrimpin' T-shirts.....maybe a fill line of "Mad" products.....get the website now! Love what you two do!

  • It's funny that Maddie will jump in the deep end and poke a wahoo but she was afraid of the shrimp 😂. I think you should try chumming and cast netting for shrimp. When they're common it's a great way to catch them mn You can also catch shrimp on the flats at night with a light and longer handle on your net. And ballyhoo. Just cruise slowly and hunt them. It's easier than wading. Have you thought about getting an aquarium with local fish in it? It would be cool to have some little reef fish and maybe a Spanish or slipper lobster. Catching the critters and setting up and feeding the fish could make some good videos.
