Hello there Chippygaming

The Astrum Aures fight does in fact have alot of lasers and alien like attacks. Its a machine infected with an alien infection called the astral infection.
Astrum Aureus lore item: "Ever pragmatic, Draedon dispatched this machine to locate and analyze the source of the Astral Infection. While nominally for reconnaissance, the Aureus model is heavily armed and can scale any terrain. It performed admirably, at least until it was assimilated into the Infection. Sapient minds have enough willpower to resist the Infection's call indefinitely. However, even the finest silicon is not beyond its reach. Draedon prefers his creations to serve, after all. With this experiment concluded, he will certainly be examining you next. Watch yourself."

The boss "Astrogeladon Slime" was removed from the game and replaced with "Astrum Aureus" which is why the themes are so similar.
There is a calamity mod add on mod that re-introduces and remixes the Atrogeldadon boss fight. It is very difficult and incredibly fun. The mod is called the Catalyst mod and it runs in tandem with either base calamity or the calamity infernum mod without issue. (Infernum mod being a boss fight remix mod that is generally more challenging and interesting than base calamity versions that I also highly recommend to anyone looking for a new calamity experience)
Can confirm. Catalyst gets me nice and bricked whenever calamity feels stale.

My favorite part of DMDokuro's songs are how he adds the jungle drums to the boss themes. To me they make it sound so corrupted, which most cases the boss literally is infested or mutated.
I think 10:06 was your first introduction to Draedon’s motif. Astrum Aureus is one of Draedon’s creations, and this is certainly not the last time you’ll hear this motif.
Fun fact, the melody played just before the guitarr solo in interstellar stomper is actually the motif of a character called Draedon, who was the one that built Astreum Aureus originally, really cool details!

Astrum Aureus definitely has an arsenal of weapons. Lasers, Homing missles, High Speed Crystals, and it jumping into the air and stomping into the ground. Astrum Deus fits a space battle very well. A combination of a space battle and sort of cosmic waltz. For something that can consume dying stars and form new ones, it has a sort of dazzling charm to it.

"Describe this battle for me" Gotchu bro. So when fighting Astrum Aureus, we are fighting a huge machine meant to explore an area that has been infected by an astral virus. The machine got corrupted by the alien virus, and became one with the virus itself. Most of the fight includes the player dodging astral projectiles including the pew pews and running from the machine when it tries to stomp the player with its massive legs that were originally meant to help the machine walk easily through the infected terrains. So yeah "Interstellar Stomper" is just a big robot with big legs that's main way to attack is by stomping us. Did i get anything wrong or miss anything, fellow Terrarians?
The constant noises it makes; the music just isn't the same without that....whatever-you-call-that-sound constantly going off and adding to the hecticness of the battle. But other than that, yeah, it's pretty much constantly dodging a non-stop barrage of pew pews while trying not to get stomped xD
As an avid Astrum Aureus connoiseur, you got it spot on.
@@darktail67 oh yeah that... noise 💀💀💀 only draedon knows what that sound is
Astrum Aures is actually a machine created by Draedon, who is a rather large character in the lore of Calamity. He's the same one who made the mechanical bosses, and a second trio of robots I won't discuss here. Basically, Astrum Aures became infected and overrun by the Astral Infection, a starborne pathogen expelled from the remains of a dead god. Kind of metal in all honesty
Draedon had a habit of making mech trios. And with astrum aureus and astrum deus, I am hoping to see another astrum or perhaps a creation that avoided or fought off the astral infection Edit: it might have been the astral slime, maybe a cyborgian slime and machine hybrid or purely a machine
Have you listened to some of the more calm area themes, astral underground and sunken sea themes are a great change in pace from the intensity of the boss themes

I'm so happy that you like the Soundtracks they are amazing not only listing too on a daily basis, but also in game. It's so fantastic when it comes to you making a new remix to every Soundtrack Because i've played the game for almost 6 year's and hearing them again with a twist makes my day,Thank you
Cosmic Disgust is my all-time favorite track in the entire Calamity OST closely followed by Raw, Unfiltered Calamity and i'm extremely happy that you like them too! I'd personally love to hear you fully cover Calamity's OST.
I love those my fav has to be the devourer of gods theme nonstop mix tho
one specific game song I've always wanted to see people's reaction to is a song called string theocracy, although it is noted that those who want to listen to the rest of the album, has to finish playing the game the song was put into. to those who know, you know.
The Astrum Aures boss fight in Calamity is essentially having a giant cyborg star-infected robot leaping around, shooting comets and stars whilst also trying to stomp you chasing you all across the map. Yeah Calamity gets pretty wild with its boss themes...
I absolutely love listening to aureus's theme but MAN how well the deus's theme flows with the fight itself
Astrum aureus: astrally infected arachnid This robot seems to be infected by the devious astral infection, it's attacks include:- . Alien bullet spamming on you while running towards you . Stomping on you, while being slightly homing. . Teleporting above/around you, then releasing a pack of 5 homing bolts which will fly over the sky, then come down towards you like meteors. . In higher difficulties, he also emits 2 entities, known as aureus spawns. If they are accidently hurt enough, they will follow you and then go boom with AoE . Phase 2 includes the stomping to be almost unavoidable That summarizes it up! Drops include a weapon of almost each class, some Stardust and some fallen stars
the second theme is of astrum aureus, it was a scouting robot sent by daedron that was supposed to scan and inspect the astral infection but got infected by the said infection and now is being controlled by it
To sum up Astrum Aureus: Lasers, Meteors, and an Astraly infected, oversized recon drone that has way too mush health for its stage of the game, which is Pre-Golem.
Goodness I love these reaction videos of yours, I cant wait for you to listen to the D.o.G and Servants of the Scourge tracks!
If he thinks the chromatic scale is Dokuro's signature, wait til we get to the bells
False equivalent
plus bells aren't even used that much in the soundtrack, over half the tracks dont have them
The bells showed up in the last video. That's *Calamity's* signature, not Dokuro's. At least, that's my understanding. It's called the Calamity Bell, after all.
Loved watching you're reactions this time around as always, and its amazing how you somehow manage to explain the feel of the songs into words in a way I have trouble explaining to others. The calamity ost is by far one of the best soundtracks I've heard and a lot of it has to be attributed to how good of a composer DM Dokuro really is. His ability to combine so many different instruments and elements to create such intense feels and deep emotions in an elegant way for each of the themes is incredible, and they all manage to fit each fight so well. Can't wait to see you do more. Also, in terms of song recommendations, you should really check out the DBZ Dokkan Battle ost. Each theme is only about 2 minutes long and is so well crafted high quality its insane how its the soundtrack for a mobile game. There's a theme for every kind of music genre and taste in the ost and I love watching people react to them because of just how surprisingly good it is. If you do check it out I promise you won't be disappointed.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
I can also Recommend Blue Archive, also Unwelcome School is Lit.
I always loved your analysis. I'm constantly learning things and it's great to have a different opinions in some musics that we've already listened. I recently fall into the Evoland 2 ost and I will be so happy if you try to listen to The Ghost Forest and Ceres Theme at least (also Fighting Robots and Fighting Magus are interesting with the main melody inside). Thank you and continue like this!
the astrum aureus fight is litteraly lasers, jump and balls
I always love the violin collab
I recommend listening to the biome theme of these respective bosses as well (both of them as there was a rework for the biome that came with new music and the removal of astrogeldon and addition of Astrum Aureus) The name of the songs are: Heaven's Hell-Sent Gift (old) The Heaven-Sent Abomination (new)

I know people will disagree, but Astrum Aureus is my favorite fight in the mod. Weaving underneath him as he jumps into the air, leading his OWN PROJECTILES back into him for extra damage, focusing him with all I have as he goes idle occasionally and of course the entire fight backed up by one of the best songs in the soundtrack. If I remember correctly, that chill piano melody in Pest of the Cosmos is the motif of the Astral Infection, which is the "faction" (it's an infection, whst do you expect) these three (two) bosses are tied to. At the very least, it matches the melody of The Heaven-Sent Abomination (theme of the Astral Infection) damn perfectly.
I cant WAIT for more of your reactions for this mod!!
Should have tried roar of the jungle dragon. Its the Yharon phase 2 soundtrack
Pest of the cosmos contains the leitmotif of the Astral Infection itself in the piano section, it's very nice if you've heard it!
Fun Fact: The reason Pest Of The Cosmos sounds so "positive sounding" is because Dokuro got some of the inspiration for the song after observing the "night sky's amazing gifts". He really managed to capture the unexplainable beauty of space in the song in a way words just don't do justice.
Recent soundtrack that I have come across or rather heard while playing the game is Terraria Starlight River. I haven't found all of the tracks on KZhead so maybe finding them will be a bit more difficult but it sounds very good and the boss fights are as aesthetically pleasing as the music. Beautiful for 32-bit game
I love this series! And I CANNOT wait for the Scourge and Providence themes
Even the cut music hits hard, I love it! For a long time, a special mix of a few later songs was my favorite in the entire soundtrack, but Pest of the Cosmos was a *really* close second. This is in terms of boss music, by the way. Favorite non-boss theme is *easily* The Heaven-Sent Abomination, which judging by the comments, you've already listened to. I'm excited to hear your thoughts when the video comes out!
I definitely recommend the half life soundtrack to you It's pretty interesting
half life 2 OST would be TREMENDOUS if he reacted to it!!!!
Okay, some lore. The "Astral" in Calamity is an infection that is born from the corpses of dead stars, it is insidious and will infect anything and everything it can get its hands on, including entirely mechanical beings, such as the Astrum Aureus. Once a roamer made by the legendary engineer, Draedon, it succumbed to the Astral and became the Aureus. Yes, there are a LOT of lasers. Also, the reason "Interstellar Stomper" and "Cosmic Disgust" sound so similar is because the Astrum Aureus takes the place of another boss which was removed, the Astrageldon Slime. It was removed for being too close to the Armageddon Slime from the old Exxo Avalon mod, which is the boss that inspired its creation in the first place.
I like how you don’t just sit there and listen to the music and go “yes yes mmhmm this is definitely music,” you actually add something to the reaction by adding your own bit to the music that’s playing
All three bosses from the video are associated with astral infection. this is an incredibly powerful infection capable of infecting not only living beings but also mechanisms or even gods like Astrum deus
Basically it's just another brother-in-breed from the "same mother" of Punishing Virus then
it only infects things that don't think in a complex way like humans. So stuff like animals, zombies and plants.
Well, you can’t say for sure because when a player gets infected, he just dies
But according to the lore, I’m sure that the infection works on people
@@KellerTheDominator No, the lore actually just states that sapient beings aren't affected by its mind-altering power. It can still hurt them of course, which is what the debuff is.
19:02 this part always reminds me of the transformation theme from the unfaithful Sailor Moon dub. Fitting for a cosmically beautiful song.
"will it be disgusting to listen to? let's find out" flabbergastered the moment the song starts i love seeing such reaction videos where music producers listen to soundtracks from famous media and games, kinda wholesome in my opnion, first time seeing your vids but the content seems nice
I'd love to see you release the violin covers of all these amazing tracks separately. They're so good! Also, we can tell SPG likes these ones especially because he lets the second loop play out before doing the cover.
If I may suggest, try the TUNIC soundtrack. If you’re looking for the higher octane stuff from it, The Knight, The Administrators, The Librarian, and The Round Table are all very, _very_ good. If you’re looking for softer songs, Sunset Breakfast, Memories of Memories, Black Phosphers, and Ocean Glaze are very pretty, and worthy of a listen. The barest context for the game is that it’s like playing the sanctimonious lovechild of Zelda and Dark Souls.
For a second I thought the title meant he didn't like the music and I got really scared, but thank goodness my worried were relieved.
I thought SPG is gonna stop listening to calamity soundtracks after this. I have been bamboozled in a good way.
he has already listened to every song, he’s just releasing them slowly for better content spread
fighting astrum aures for (i kid you not) almost 2 full ingame day/night cycles with massively underpowered gear (and winning!) ended up making interstellar stomper one of my favourite themes
You should Reaction "Galactic Destruction" too because it's Astrageldon slime theme too but it's phase 2 and this song from Heart up Plus (most of Calamity music made by one Legend guy... DM Dokuro)
There's also a guy who makes covers to the calamity music with electric violin (i think his channel is called "Is that luke?"), and he does those soundtracks EVEN MORE METAL. I'd love to see your reaction to his covers!

@@StringPlayerGamerOfficial Ach! Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the response tho!
Even though Astrogeladon Slime was removed from official mod... There's an addon which mods him right back in! With a "little" twist and a second theme which you might wanna check!
the astral theme, or the Astral "Medley" so to say considering how thematic all this ost is are one of the best ost in the game, too bad that cosmic disgust theme of astrageldon has been scrapped from the game, it is the best astral them among the other 2 tbh imo. Cosmic disgust - A battle with a cosmic infected slime with a glorious & amazing visuals, i think the music describe this battle perfectly. Interstellar stomper - as the ost name mention, a massive robotic crawler infected with the astral infection, jumping & hopping around while firing lasers at you, which is why i think the songs feel rocky af and the drum beats definitely describes aureus jumping around nicely. Pest of the cosmos - a battle with the god of the stars, Deus battle is all about dodging fast moving+charging Space worm while also dodging the bullet hell of its lasers. that's why the beats & tempo of this song is so fast cause that just how intense this fight is, and all of that intensity doubled when suddenly there is 2 of the worms you have to fight at once.
There’s two versions of the fight i can describe, the boss rework addon (Infernum) or vanilla. Infernum’s better so that description. You’re in the Astral Infection, and you’re here to kill the machine. The battle begins and it begins to fire an array of beams. It stalls and starts launching into the air above you, and slamming down, leaving a side-sweeping shockwave and small flaming meteor fragments to avoid. It stomps down on you multiple times to make sure you die. It stalls to shoot deadly astral missiles from its body and goes right back to stomping, with missiles firing each stomp. It stalls and walks right below you, to initiate a pair of astral beams, one orange, one blue, firing lasers at you as you avoid getting boxed in by the astral beams. Then back to stomping. (love your work fyi)
Also might want to checkout the bgm for the astral infection theme. Not just the boss theme ❤❤
May I recommend the Infernum OST the infernum soundtrack is composed by pinpineon and is the soundtrack the infernum mod for terraria which is an add on mod for calamity the infernum soundtrack replaces the vanilla bosses themes and a few calamity ones as well as adding it’s own boss theme
best CLICKBAIT i've ever seen. Wanted to leave a bad comment, but watched whole video and got the point of the video's title
I highly recommend checking out the soundtrack for Hyper Light Drifter!
Hey! Loved the reaction. That second one reminds me of Doom music. Would love to see your reaction to a game called TUNIC. It's music can be described as aetherial and magical.
Pest of the Cosmos perfectly captured how the Astrum Deus bossfight goes: you have to face off against a cosmic serpent who is also the god of the stars (although it was already weakened and on the verge of dying), dodging and weaving between its laser or ramming attacks while avoiding the trails of damaging stars it leaves behind on occasions, and when its health gets low, it splits into 2 separate serpents and attacks more ferociously as its life approaches the end. It's an intense and fast-paced battle, yet also a visually stunning fight. It's definitely one of my favorite bossfights from the mod. P.s. Fun fact, this song also captures what the old Astrum Deus fight used to be like, a hectic space battle that probably happens across the entire map. Back then there were 11 serpents attacking you all at once and each of them takes turn to become vulnerable to damage for a period of time while the others are invincible.
i have 3 recomendations, that are pretty much closer to each other in terms of style. They're Sonic Rush, Jet Set Radio and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. They have a beautiful soundtrack with so much groovy and funky style that give so much of a confidation sensation.
That intro before suddenly rocking out for Astrum gives me serious "Pokey Means Business" vibes.
Cosmic disgust was made for a slime boss, and if you listen closely you can hear some similar motifs from Return To Slime
For Astrageldon, which I believe was in at one point
There's also something similar to this titled "Glutinous Arbitration" (Related to Calamity, but not officially made by Calamity...yet)
You need to check out phase 2 of cosmic disgust from the catalyst addon!
Honestly, if you like this and have time: you should look at some of the unnoficial themes, such as astrageldon's phase two theme! ^(It's utterly amazing) Or if you feel like it, heart plus up's unnoficial OST for the rest of the game. Edit: I would love if you checked out "Super cloudbuilt"'s OST, its a hidden gem i never see mentioned.

Astrum Aureus is a giant walking machine that jumps. A lot. It can also shoot bullets and lasers with each landing, and sometimes spawns kamikaze minions. I'll give you that much.
A recommendation from me, before listening to Stained Brutal Calamity, listen to Inferior Fabrications which is the current placeholder theme to a boss in the mod. It is made by a different artist named Pinpinneon Although, there is a mod that is for Calamity called Infernum which has two songs that go together made by the same artist who did Inferior Fabrications.
