  • It's interesting how right after the trim she still doesn't use the hurt foot at first, but then realizes she can walk on it with the block on, really shows how useful they are!

    • Yes he's a real pro. I used to be a fan of a certain scottish hoof trimmer but got so tired of all the fooling around and put downs directed jokingly to his assistant. I'm here to learn not soak up what he's spent his money on eg sports cars, house renovation (adding a room for a gym), holidays overseas. We know that youtube generates income but to flaunt it to ppl who don't care or who are financially strapped annoyed me so much. Thank god Nate is professional and explains things as he goes. Thanks Nate

It's just nice watching a guy be really good at what he does and incredibly kind while doing it. :-) There are so many KZheadrs that could learn a whole lot by watching Mr. Hoof Guy.

  • That was a big area! I love how when you’ve finished & release the cow from the brace, she steps very gingerly, testing that hoof. Then she gradually picks up steam as she realises it doesn’t hurt so much any more, & actually it feels a ton better. Happy cow. 🥰

  • I learned about chlorhexidine from Nate. I have a lot of critters (cats & dogs) and also grand-kids. Anytime there's a boo-boo, i break this stuff out. It doesn't sting and gets rid of germs. I've also used it to clean and de-germ surfaces. It's good stuff; inexpensive, a little goes a long way and I buy it by the gallon. Very handy to have around, and I don't know how I lived without it! Meanwhile, I really enjoy watching Nate work on those cows' feet. Part of it is because I enjoy watching professional experts do their work, part because I like critters, and part because Nate's voice sounds so kind and soothing.

  • When i was a young lad there was a 4H fair in my area that my parents would take me to every year. I asked a farrier who was trimming vow hooves "why dont you wash the hoof first?" He gave me the best reply i have ever heard, "If you step on a nail, would you wash your boot, pull out the nail, wash your boot, remove your boot, wash your foot and treat the wound? Or would you pull out the nail, remove your boot, clean your foot and treat the wound? "

  • A little tidbit for everyone wondering about chlorhexidine: It’s not just used for veterinary purposes, but also used in human dental care as an antiseptic - so if you’ve had some teeth pulled, you’ve probably been told to use a product containing this ingredient as an antiseptic mouthwash after every meal until your surgery wound was properly healed! (Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, just someone with removed wisdom teeth - please don’t use this info to brew your own concoction as a home remedy, always follow your actual doctor’s orders).

Also, I like the fact that you do voice-overs instead of cutting to a shot of you talking to us like a certain trimmer from Scotland. No offense to him, but I watch these to see hooves being trimmed not some guy promoting himself. Bravo to you for having a beautiful family, truck, house, crush etc, but I wanna watch hoof trimming. I'm sure he's a great guy, i just don't need to be reminded in every video. I appreciate the fact that you are a hoof trimmer who also posts on YT, instead of a You-Tuber who trims hooves. keep up the good work

For those that have never seen a video of his before and this is LITERALLY the VERY 1ST EVER video of his they're watching, then this information is VERY beneficial. I know that I myself have looked at his channel, and watched past videos, like, from YEARS ago, just to see the information for hoof trimming, just to educate myself, because I like to find out new educational information. If others are similar, then I'm sure they'd do the same thing. But I know that I personally don't mind hearing the same information over and over again, because it keeps it fresh in my mind.
