Beautiful! 🖖🏻 Thanks for sharing! Can someone explain why the smoke/haze layer is added? The shot at the 15 second mark is gorgeous - crisp and sharp - but then this layer of space fog is added the next second. I’d pay good money to see these shots use this effect at only 10-20% strength. I apologize in advance if there’s something I’m missing.
for lens flare and blur the lights a little. JJ Abrams's focus groups say it adds "pizzazz:" to the shot.

The final layer of haze takes away so much from seeing the great work. Maybe rethink a bit for S2.

These shots are beautiful. I hope the team gets all the awards and rewards! And that last minute requests & changes are kept to a minimum. I do agree that the haze layer is a shame. It hides so much of the work. But perhaps it's there to even out detailed and non-detailed shots or blend live action with effects a bit better. I have no idea. Just know that we'd love to see more of your work!

Congratulations on the beautiful work first, but also I must say that last layer of bloom is really killing all the beautiful details. I’m not sure if this feedback would get to your artists but next time if someone at CBS ask you to put on that awful filter again, stand your ground. A lot of us want crisp looking vfx shots to appreciate the details!
Exactly that!!!! Great example being 0:05 (Enterprise in spacedock) that looks spot on great. But then a second later when that bluey hue is added, it actually makes things look lower quality. Stick with crisp guys.
Pretty sure there's a look bible/client notes dictating this kind of thing to keep all vendors' work aligned

Great work on the show, but this video showcasing it should have been just the before and after. All the various other clips seem to be included as filler, rather than actually showing off the work done.

Honestly I prefer it without the filter. Literally just needs a bloom effect for the lights and it'd look perfect.

I kind of dig the design, as a mixture between the Original and the Refit, but that weird texture pattern and the dark lighting absolutely kill it for me
KZhead compression is killing the post processed version. Note when you pause that you can see a block like texture in the "fog" areas of the shot (Not the hull of the ship but the haze itself). Having watched these from a local 4K file on a 4k TV these do not lose the amount of detail you see in this comparison. Not a knock against the post which is amazing, just a note on the limits of 1080p on KZhead.
Seeing what's beneath the grime filter is kinda shocking and ruining the great work beneath it. There's no atmosphere in space so what is all of this haze?

Great models, amazing renders, fantastic compositions but IMO this glare and haze is overkill and it needs to be toned down.

Dial back whatever haze filter you throw on last. Space is supposed to be crisp, the soft focus thing is silly.
