I don't think he was supposed to have fallen over. Notice how the other cast reacts (they seem surprised, laughing, looking towards where the crew should be) then a crew member walks into shot. Probably why this was cut from the film.

You can see why they cut this scene though: it shows Mr Creosote as a rather jolly, overweight buffoon rather than the disgusting glutton you see in the film.
