  • Decided to add a pinned comment as a changelog for the PoB, the most current version of which will remain linked up in the description as well as here. Current PoB: pobb.in/FvxZ-j7hRqt9 3/28/24 - The Sniper's Mark nerf took a big chunk out of the build's total DPS, particularly for single target. I think the build will still work just fine as a leaguestarter and mapping will still be a breeze. However, since the main reason for playing Deadeye was the increased effect of marks, and since that basically doesn't do much of anything now, I will be contemplating other ascendancies for the build. Stay tuned! 12/7/23 - Updated Endgame skill tree to remove Eldritch Battery. Build only requires one EB. Second one was redundant. 12/8/23 - Updated to include a few reminders at the top of the notes section re Stats and Resistances being in Config, rather than on gear, as well as a few pointers about customizing your own skill trees to suit your own builds.

    • Wanted to ask if you have any charms for the build. So far I've gotten a couple that feel strong but I don't really know what's bis. Global chance to blind on hit feels real nice defensively Chance to cover enemies in ash adds tons of damage + Max fire res to counter leadership price and switch early Recover 20% of life every 4 seconds is nice sustain Gain Adrenaline on low life is one I haven't tested but seems strong Increased crot chance if you haven't crit looks super strong but again haven't tested it Chance to add 25% of non chaos damage as extra chaos dmg seems like huge dmg Hoping to hear your thoughts man!

    • @@captviking2875 I haven't taken the time quite yet to read through all the charm options, but one of the first ones I happened to pick up was a Saboteur's Lupine Charm of the Saboteur that had 10% Global Chance to Blind on Hit and 28% Increased Effect of Auras from Mines. Seemed pretty good to me! But all the options you have listed definitely sound pretty nice, though I am also tempted to try out Barkskin from the other wildwood ascendancy.

    • You think of completely dropping sniper's mark after nerfs?

      @Bataljuun@BataljuunАй бұрын
    • @@Bataljuun Only if there's something better to use, which currently I'm not seeing. Although it was nerfed pretty hard, that just dropped it from an insanely powerful skill to a really powerful skill for this build. Other options might be Assassin's Mark or Elemental Weakness, but even still they don't seem to add as much damage as Sniper's Mark.

  • for anyone playing this build, you can do some new spectre tech to get almost permanent anger for free with guardians blessing and the dark marionettes. been trying it out for a day or two and it feels a lot nicer than the divine blessing setup. you offset their explosions and every now and then recast it when they get one shot but they come back almost immediately which is nice. Really lessens the ES requirements for the blessing as well.

    • Interesting - can you walk me through the specifics in a bit more detail? So far I've just been playing around with charms and haven't really looked into options with the Warlock of the Mists ascendancy. Would love to hear more though!!

      @salendrak@salendrak5 ай бұрын
    • @@salendrak you dont even need the the ascendancy, they're pretty much standalone. Since they respawn automatically they work with zero investment in any minion survivability. The guardians blessing makes them degen and die, but they come back a second later. If you get the perfect version you can even get some scorch on the xplosions as well as a bit of extra damage from em. I have raise spectre - Guardians Blessing - Anger - Meat shield. They'll taunt every now and then which is a nice small boost in survivability. If they both die at the same time the aura turns off but its just an instant cast click just like divine blessing to turn it back on. Pretty often one will die before the other and when that happens the aura stays on since one spectre will be alive while the other dies and is resummoned. I was barely using the divine blessing cause of the large es/mana cost anyway so this just adds a bunch of damage for free and you get to scorch bosses adding even more damage. Been feeling super nice so far.

    • You're definitely not going to get super overcapped on your resistances and will need to avoid altars that drop your resistances. When I've been a little under here or there I've just added resistances on a jewel, or grabbed some of the nodes around Survivalist on the passive tree. Purity of Elements is also a good stopgap, as is rolling resistances on a flask. Final resistance numbers on my actual character were 92% Fire, 81% Cold, 101% Lightning, and 48% Chaos, and only 14% lightning was from a jewel (Stormshroud). Most of the rolls were T2 or T3, and only maybe 2 of them were T1 resistances. Here's the hits math for the endgame build (assuming that's the one you're referring to). Blazing Salvo - 8 Projectiles + 1 for the double hit = 9. Sniper's Mark - 5 * 1.8 = 9. So 18 from Blazing Salvo and Sniper's Mark, +2 more from Endless Munition for 20 total hits per mine, 20 x 5 = 100. Again though, chances are you won't be getting that many hits all of the time, but even if you were only hitting with 75%, that's still some big damage numbers!

  • Wow! This is the video I've been looking for. Zlayge's videos are hard to understand because they're in French, but this one is easy to follow. It's been a while, but I have some questions. I'm farming in SSFHC(with a few mods), but my damage seems weaker than expected. 1. Before crafting the endgame scepter, should I just use a scepter hit by Essence of Woe with decent options? I can't progress past yellow maps at Lv 83 T-T. 2. According to the video, it seems like the damage increase of Blastchain Mine Support resets if I move after throwing mines. Is that correct? Since I've set the detonation function to left mouse click and move frequently, would High Impact Mine Support be better in this case? 3. When looking at the mechanics of Blazing Salvo, is it better to have a larger Area of Effect, or is there an optimal point? I'm curious if it's okay to skip one of either Mine Mastery(about AoE) or the 'Blast Waves' node. 4. Is there a reason to self-cast Sniper's Mark? It seems like it would be more convenient to link it with Arcanist Brand, Flame Wall, and Flammability, but I'm curious why that's not done. I'm sorry for the many questions. If you're reading this, please do reply. I'm about to give up on ssfhc T-T

    @dongdong02@dongdong022 ай бұрын
    • Couple of disclaimers before answering your questions - I've never played SSFHC on this or any other character, and other than the first week or three of the current league haven't been playing PoE recently. I had played a LOT the prior few leagues and needed a break! That said, here's my best attempt at answering your questions: 1 - That's usually your best bet. If you have lots of +Quality red gems, you can also try the basic approach that is used for RF scepters to force +1 fire skills, hope to get a second good affix with an Orb of Augmentation and then Regal, and then multimod your best options from there. Check Phox's RF Wiki for the basic steps, but remember that you'll want different mods than what he lists, as we don't care about ignite or damage over time. It's the same basic process though. 2 - I think that's correct, and if I remember right, I was always seeing higher dps numbers in PoB with High Impact mines anyway. I suppose there's possibly a point where if you get a long enough detonation sequence with Blastchain that you'll theoretically have higher dps than normal use with High-Impact, but for day to day purposes and, like you say, moving around a lot, I think High-Impact is probably better. 3 - Hard to say, and really hard to test in game. I did experiment with stuff like that, and even put in an Increased Area of Effect Support gem in my links (can't remember what I removed) to see how it felt, and I didn't notice any particular difference in clear speed, but single target did seem to suffer. Might have been purely subjective though. From a theoretical perspective, if you had ZERO increased AoE I think both your single target and clear would suffer quite a bit, but you don't need a lot of increased AoE to hit a good point, and beyond that you would be better off investing into something else. I wouldn't get rid of Blast Waves though as it also has that 30% increased area damage, but you could totally try dropping the AoE mastery for something else and see how you like it. 4 - I've thought about trying that, but never got around to it. Mostly I think it's so you can pinpoint specific targets that you want to have the mark when there are several targets, rather than have the brand pick for you. Final though about hardcore - I hope you're using Zlayge's tree! As explained in my video, staying on the right side of the tree works great for soft-core, but it will definitely get you killed! Cheers!

I might go ahead and add some suggestions on what to do with those new ascendancies, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Mostly though I would recommend either going with Barkskin (haven't really looked at tinctures yet) or, which is what I'm doing, going Primalist and finding some fun charms, like Chance to Blind, Covered in Ash, increased Aura effect from mines, etc. Hope that helps!

I watched quite a lot of vids to pick builds and I always end up having so many doubts the build turns out mediocre most of the times, as they won't usually tackle anything before end game.

    @pumpgod940@pumpgod9405 ай бұрын
    • That's definitely happened to me before plenty of times! I think a lot of it comes down to your personal knowledge and experience, but the quality of the guide can also make a big difference, as can the shifting meta of the game. @user-nd3we3wr8q@user-nd3we3wr8qАй бұрын
    • I was out of town basically since the patch notes went live until today, and haven't had much time to update the build yet. The Sniper's Mark nerf was a REALLY big nerf to the build, but from what I can tell I think the build will still work just fine as a leaguestarter. It was doing WAY more than enough damage before the nerf, and even with the nerf, it should still be doing more than enough damage to comfortably clear all regular content in the game with this setup. As for tattoos, they definitely make it a lot easier to get your stats balanced for Leadership's Price, but it looks like they aren't bringing back some of the best tattoos to enhance the build that we had back in TotA league. Most likely you'll want to use tattoos to shore up spell suppression and resists, or otherwise plug holes in your defenses that you don't have from gear yet. Not sure it would be worth it to, for example, get 5 tattoos of 4% increased effect of marks to get another projectile from Sniper's Mark. And sadly Blazing Salvo does not yet have any alternate quality versions to consider. I will be updating the PoB though for the new league, and will try to have it out by at least Friday morning sometime. Might be a bit later though when I have a chance to actually play around with the build (prior league versions) using the new Automation skill gem. For example, I don't know yet if we'll need to use both it and a Detonate Mines skill gem to get detonations working on left click like we used before, or if the detonations will still go off with just the Automation gem socketed somewhere.

    • @@salendrak Ok. I understood u. I want to offer a couple of my options for finalizing your build. 1) You have have line near *large jewel socket*. You spend 3 little point (dexterity). But can choose big point *Finesse* + little point *movement speed and spell suppression*. Tottaly we will have + 1 free point. 2) Delete your rare cobalt jewel *Rapture Hope*. And put in this socket Timeless Jewel *Brutal Restraint*. We will have only 5 big nodes, but we can find good mods: evasion, maximum life, elemental damage, projectile damage, crit chance, onslaught, effect non-curse aura. This 5 mods better 3 mods in your rare jewel. 3) In theory we can save 1 point in personage socket. You use CWDT + Molten Shell. Shield with Elder influence have suffix *Socketed Gems are Supported by Level 5 Cast when Damage Taken*. What do u think about that? 4) Ailment Avoidens. I suggest delete uniq jewel *Stormshroud*. And take cup avoidens in this items: boots - crafted suffix (21-25%) + Eater implicit (18-20%), shield suffix (31-35%), body armor crafted prefix (20-25% or unveiled mod 30-35). Total we will +1 implicit on boots (Exarch) and + 1 socket in tree. We can use this free socket for rare jewel or uniq jewel *Impossible Escape* (Ancestral Bond -> Galvanic Hammer, The Agnostic -> Surge of Vigour, Blood Magic -> Settling Ash, Unwavering Stance -> Prismatic Skin, Chaos Inoculation -> Whispers of Doom). 5) Delete 2 little point *Evasion and life* near big node *Revenge of the Hunted* (with this nodes u have 48 290 EHP), and take *Blood Drinker* (with this points wil be 49 167 EHP + % life recover) 6) Use tatoos only for Marks. Take resistans and atrributes not hard)

    • Regarding my point №4 with uniq jewel *Impossible escape*. If its good idea we can use *Zealot`s Oath* -> Arcane Potency (your amulet`s enchant). So we can use new enchant. For damage: Tenacity, Light of Divinity, Annihilation, Heart of Flame, Blacksmith`s Clout, Galvanic Hummer, Throatseeker, Whispers of Doom (additional curse. + save 3 point in tree) For mana reserv: Sovereignty, Champion of the Cause For defence: Graceful Assault, Bravery, Deadly Inclinations, Reflexes, Discipline and Training, Devotion, Golem`s Blood

Though I suppose a big counterpoint is that Demolitions Specialist on Saboteur gives 150% increased effect of mine auras, but not sure overall how those would balance each other out. At some point during the Affliction League though I do plan to experiment with other ascendancies, and Saboteur is probably top of the list!

    @Jarnkt@Jarnkt5 ай бұрын
    • I like it better. I spent some time with Pyroclast / Hexblast last league, and overall Blazing Salvo had more comfortable mapping, and still very excellent boss damage and survivability. Compared to both Pyroclast and Hexblast I felt that it had better reach / damage projection, and compared to Hexblast in particular, it doesn't suffer from the problem Hexblast has when it can't target any enemies in range, and hence can't detonate. Plus the amount of "detonate" clanging you get is FAR less with Blazing Salvo. Way less finicky to get solidly up and running too, as you don't have to worry about on-hit rings or anything else to get it working.
