Nick Wright joins Colin Cowherd on The Herd to discuss the latest news in the NFL. Nick weighs in on Colin’s top 10 QB’s in the NFL and believes the list not too far off from his own rankings. The two discuss Patrick Mahomes’ scramble late in Super Bowl LVII, and Nick explains it was the best play of his career. Nick explains James Bradberry’s holding call on JuJu Smith-Schuster was the right call despite it being controversial. Nick explains after winning Super Bowl LVII, the Kansas City Chiefs have solidified themselves as the next dynasty in the NFL.

  • For fans that don't watch the Chiefs as much as some, I'm a life long die hard Chiefs fan so I watch every game-- people don't realize Mahomes has moments EVERY SINGLE GAME that would be signature iconic moments for most player's careers.. He does it every week. The media has become numb to it!! And some fans have as well. But we can't allow that to happen!! This kid is truly special!!! The amazing things he does that will his team to victory, need to be celebrated. This whole, "well, that's Mahomes 🤷" thing has got to go.

      @AntonVanDerSar@AntonVanDerSar Жыл бұрын
    • Totally correct. I'm from Lubbock and watched him at Texas Tech - he was special then, and his teams didn't even have a winning record during the time he was a starter, but he managed to do some amazing things. I didn't KNOW he was going to be the NFL QB he has become, because most Texas Tech QBs don't become superstars, but I'm not surprised, thinking back on how he played in college. And let's not forget the contribution of Alex Smith in mentoring him during his rookie year. A true selfless teammate.

Upon Mahomes entering the league, I invested in his rookie cards. Mahomes has truly become an amazing player. I'm not a fan. Just didn't want to make the same mistake that I did with Brady, investment wise. I never ever bought one single Brady card, because I'm a Manning fan. Mahomes probably will break every QB record there is except for rushing yards.

The Chiefs got 2 with only one leading to a score. If you complain about just one call and none of the others either you didn’t watch the game, are biased, or aren’t very smart (or any combo thereof). I don’t have an issue with any of these 3 calls, they were to the letter of the law and all 3 manjorly effected to the game, hold leads to end of game, catch leads to touch down and fumble call leads to loss of a touch down for chiefs and play ends in a touchdown for Eagles

    @danc3367@danc3367 Жыл бұрын
    • His best run, for sure. And certainly top 5 of all plays. His best complete pass... That was 4th and 9 vs the Ravens. That throw was long and way back to the left. As it went up, I thought he literally just decided to make sure someone from either team would have a chance to make a play, but when you see it again and see if from the right angle, you can see that he actually hit a spot where only Hill could get it and Hill went and got it. Hill was not open, but he was by the time the ball arrived. Hill was WAY downfield and running across the field and towards Mahomes. That is NOT a normal route, but 15 hit the bullseye despite the fact that the ball had a lot of air under it. His best play ever.... Incomplete....Dropped by the receiver. Hit him in the facemask. He was horizontal to the ground after being chased and eventually tripped by a Tampa Bay rusher during the Super Bowl. When he goes to Canton, his statue should be him releasing that ball. He is the best QB under duress that I have ever seen. Only Elway comes close.

    • No way… even if he doesn’t make that titans run they have a whole half. Also he didn’t have a high ankle sprain. Mahomes run made a much bigger impact because it was later, plus it was in the SUPERBOWL. It may not have looked as cool, but 100% the Super Bowl run was more impactful, on the biggest possible stage and therefore his biggest and best play.

  • This was the well-coached kids vs. the favored Brutes. The NFL is best played, now days, as keep-away, and not the "bully wins" by pre-game vote. Greg Olsen felt weelly bad. He couldn't handle an upset by the kids that listened to their coaches instead of complaining at the refs. The game passed them by.

  • Nobody in KC whined about the offsides call against Dee Ford that cost KC the AFC Championship vs NE. That is because HE WAS OFFSIDES. So why are people bitching about this hold. It was a CLEAR violation due to the way he was pulling on the Jersey. Had that NOT been called, that would have been a travesty and a gross decision by the official. In fact, if we really do want to advocate for the "Let them play" mindset, then people should be OUTRAGED at the Dee Ford call since he had no impact on the play whatsoever.

  • As a mizzou fan in the sec and a Chiefs fan in kcmo. I thought Hurts was system guy. And tbh I think the Chiefs thought the same thing. I believe they were focused on stopping the run and making Jaylen beat him which he very well could’ve done had he got the ball. I was shocked at how good he played. He’s the real deal . I’ve always liked the kid and he’s been nothing but a leader and a team mate. Congrats philly you got something special

  • Why are we still discussing the hold on JuJu? When do we start talking about six rugby scrums which inflate the Eagle's game stats because they only have to get to 3rd and 2 to get first downs? Those snaps were a lot more painful to watch than the kneeldowns to end the game. Granted, they were legal plays. They won't be next season, so let's see Jalen's first down stats next season. He's won me over but I think he's just another Lamar Jackson knockoff until he shows me he can read defenses and carry the team with his arm and good decisions. I agree that Joe Burrow is dangerous, and maybe a notch above Josh Allen in reading defenses. Josh is the better multi-threat weapon while his legs last. The less we talk about Mahomes' legs, the better. He needs to run just enough to keep the pass rushers honest.

  • Has anyone notices that most of the best QBs in the NFL have had their best games against the Chiefs or at least excelled vs. KC. Is that because they rose to the occasion or because the KC defense is mediocre? Hurts... Greatest game in his career vs KC in the Super Bowl Allen 2 greatest games in losses to KC Herbert. Several very good games vs KC and no bad ones. Facing the rest of the league, he has been far more inconsistent. Lawrence. Greatest game probably vs LAC, but 2nd greatest vs KC in last seasons playoffs. Derek Carr. Always plays well, and above his norm, vs KC Most of the rest of these 10 QBs simply have not played KC much. However, KC has managed to make Lamar Jackson look very average.
