If you crank up the brightness on a Vectrex, it leaves these beautiful light trails. I originally thought mine was defective, but the commenters below pointed out the brightness can be reduced, which resolved it immediately. Thanks, KZhead!

On the rear of the Vectrex turn down the brightness. If you do not do so you will burn through the screen phosphor. If you cannot turn down the brightness then the brightness potentiometer may need replacement.

Have you tried turning down the brightness. There is a rotary potentiometer sticking out of the Vectrex rear.
