महाराष्ट्र के ठाणे में अपने ही खानदान का खात्मा करने वाले हसनैन वारेकर पर बहन के साथ यौन शोषण का सनसनीखेज आरोप है. इस नृशंस हत्याकांड में अपने हत्यारे भाई के चंगुल से बची सुबिया ने उसके बारे में कई खुलासे किए हैं. उसके मुताबिक, हसनैन मानसिक रूप से बीमार बहन का यौन शोषण करता था. मां को जानकारी देने पर उसने जान से मारने की धमकी दी थी.
एक अंग्रेजी अखबार के मुताबिक, सुबिया ने खुलासा किया कि हसनैन की मां ने उससे अपनी जान की भीख मांगी थी, लेकिन उसने उसको भी मार दिया. जब वह अपनी मां की तरफ चाकू लेकर बढ़ रहा था, तो उन्होंने कहा था, 'मैं तुम्हारी मां हूं, मैंने तुम्हे जन्म दिया है. तुम ये क्या कर रहे हो. मुझे मत मारो.' लेकिन उस दरिंदे भाई को कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ा और उसने सबके साथ अपनी मां की भी जान ले ली.

The incident was unprecedented. Hasnain Warekar, 32, who worked as a clerk for a chartered accountant, had slaughtered 14 of his family -- parents, wife, two daughters, three of his four sisters, four of his nephews and two of his nieces -- slitting their throats while they slept at their home at Kasarwadavali on Ghodbunder Road. He then hanged himself.
A year on, the only survivor of the brutality, Subiya, who lives in Bhiwandi, stays away from the house, just like people from the neighbourhood. For Subiya and everyone around, the bungalow, which housed the Warekars for more than 20 years, is a sad reminder of the horrific massacre.
