Can we please talk about JSU band as a whole. The instrument players looks and sound damn good! You can see the fun and excitement that goes through them during we came to play man like wow. Head to head battle is tense. They both did good but I’m going with Settes. I kinda feel if the stingettes didn’t wear black this game that they would’ve had more of an effect. The bands sound great though!
For some reason they always were black to Jackson. Idk if it’s some unspoken tradition or something
@@kendollbad actually you’re right. I think 2017 is the first time I saw them were a different color but they still changed to black. Which in other years I’ve never seen an issue with it but this year it doesn’t help show their full out movements.

Love the energy, execution, and song sections from both bands. Zero Quarter was by far the best. MMH is battle tested in 2023 and it showed at JSU Homecoming.

Stingette count was cute asf J-settes! That was so Stingette to me @ 7:07 and this isn’t the first time I’ve seen Stingette flare from over there which I can actually appreciate. Battling the Stingettes have helped soften the J-settes a lot over the years. Both teams are on fire and bands going at it blow for blow! I’ve always said ASU has rich, dark, clean and powerful sound and folks would try to correct me and say Jsu. Both have dark sounds but you can hear it clear as day here, Alabama State has a very unique and dark sound that separates them from others. It’s even darker than Jackson’s. Fiery zero quarter! 🔥🔥

@@jada9401They’re a hybrid of those 2 teams. Anyone who’s seen old school footage can see it clearly as day. That doesn’t take away from the Stingettes amazing legacy. They’ve definitely carved out their own unique lane that sets them apart. Many teams borrowed from each other in their early years.

Jackson can’t compete with ASU’s pen if I’m being completely transparent. They haven’t truly impressed me since ‘Circle of Life’. What year was that again? I suppose now that they’re more balanced their priorities are to be loud and clean but MMH is gonna be that by default so Jsu just seemed full of energy and horsepower but no torque.
