  • I love what he had to say. I love that he said it should be about freedom and not about the money. I believe in this motto. We are not looking to build a HUGE empire...just enough that we are comfortable to do what we would like to do in life and enjoy doing what we do for a living. One is never too old or too young to do this in my opinion :) It takes planning and like he said LOTS of work. :)

    • A startup is a business...I'm not sure if he starts the business and sells them and moves on or not. Others work online with jobs or have their own online businesses so you can be location independent(meaning you can live anywhere because you work online).

  • This is about start ups. This has virtually nothing regarding a nomadic lifestyle. Go hom TEDx.

    • It kind of is though because nomadic life in the modern sense implies a steady stream of income which, although significantly lower compared to standard "American dream" type of lifestyle, is fundamental. And it doesn't matter if you prefer backpacking around the world, living full time in a van or renting airbnb for months. All those options require income. You could work temporarily in places but in all likelihood having a "boss" is what you're trying to avoid, so becoming a freelancer and maybe even creating a startup should enable you to be nomadic or rooted for that matter wherever in the world you prefer. I'm personally planning to give vanlife a go and currently learning web coding to enable this transition. Who knows, I've always loved to work with my hands and out there are definitely things that don't exist yet but which people would appreciate. In fact, I'm attending a coding course which was made by a fellow Latvian (where I'm from) and another lad in a Slovenian startup. The company (SmartNinja) now has offices in Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia and Spain and one of the owners also practices mixing work and travel. Hope it works out for you.
