I think he's embarrased about it now, or in denial.
Grandiose
"The end of history in our time", perhaps? (But of course it wasn't even that!)
I never could finish it, even specific chapters read separately, for being completely out there, though I was political science student. It was too optimistic lacking realism for that time.
Yeah, there was a cottage industry for a while to give Fukuyama cover with weak apologetics. They're all quiet now.

Dreamer. You remind me of that Dave Allen joke when Charlie dies and gets to heaven. God let's him in and shows him around, introducing him to all the different groups. Protestants here, Methodists there, Buddhists over there, Hindus over there. Up the stairs they go and there's a big white curtain. He hears people praying and Charlie says, who's behind this curtain. God says, shhhhhh, they are Catholics, they think they are the only ones here! The western mindset is just like the Catholic's mindset( in that joke). Not all Catholics are like that for sure, there are many many funny and good Catholics.
Why do we assume if putin leaves office all this ends? What if the next leader is even worse than putin?
Patrushev equally nuts !
Yeah, it has to do with the West totally misunderstanding that empire.
He won't have the resources that Putin had at the start of this mess for starters, Germany has largely weaned itself off Russian oil, and the army is down to using T-54 tanks and North Korean artillery shells in Ukraine. Worse to the Russian people maybe, but unlikely to threaten the west.
Medvedev enters the chat.
Patrushev and the former KGB control Russia's resources so any oligarchs is under him
"I don't know if I answered your question." Come to think of it, neither do I.
As far as national security is concerned there is no difference between Bussia and Putin. The obsession in the west with the individual of Putin is ridiculous and misses the reasons for his popularity in Russia among people who remember the chaos and economic mismanagement of the Yeltsin era
Who is Bussia? Not heard of her or him. Is it a transportation service?
And the tens of thousands who fled, and the many brave souls STILL protesting despite the thugs and propaganda, mean nothing? He's not quite as vicious as Hamas with their dissenters, but both peoples have far more against than we can see in public.
@@willdon.1279 Have you ever actually been to Russia?
@@realitycheck1883 Why? Unless one has lived in a place for a long time and been interested, there will be few who can do more than check reliable, serious, reporters who have. If we don't trust Reuters, AP, BBC, and others, then give up?
True. There is an outlandish misconception that if Putin is removed Russia will suddenly become a liberal democracy, while in reality the most probable successor is Dmitry Medvedev, who is twice the imperialist Putin is. Navalny was a brave soul (especially protesting Putin's immigration policies, which are just as insane as those of Western democracies) but he never had a chance to win the presidency. You'd think we should have learnt from Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya who didn't exactly became beacons of liberalism and democracy when the previous leadership was removed, but wishful thinking dies hard I guess. Russia certainly has its own kind of degeneracy but that doesn't mean Russians want Western degeneracy on top of that. And Russia is an innately imperialist country. It has to be defeated on the battlefield.
