  • People can attempt to devalue Adesanya, but there is a reason Alex and DDP called him out. the man is active, and he takes the hardest fights he can to prove his worth. He beat his biggest rivals, and he was lapping the division. Haters are gonna hate, tho.

    • yeah because middleweight is such a strong division lol imagine a division where vettori fights for a title lol. Izzy is just lucky there's no decent wrestler in MW. People always says Strickland has a low finish rate but so does Adenasya. Whittaker destoyed Vettori Gastelum and Cannonier better than Izzy, the only reason he couldn't beat Izzy is the size disavantage. Also he's always running backwards. Anyways he got fraud check by Strickland. He's just happened to be the best of a bad bunch. Costa is lame too. Overrated.

    • @@kall745Yeah the point is now you're saying that once he lost to Strickland, which happens. Sometimes a fighter who's worse on paper puts on a great performance that's why MMA is so great. No one was talking about Izzy like he was a fraud when he cleared out the division or Ko'd Pereira.

As somebody who's been a big fan of his ever since he first showed up in UFC, it's always bugged me that so many people regularly bemoan him while letting much worse behavior from others pass.

    • He has 9 world championships in the UFC you bent. Sean couldn't even defend it once. Alex couldn't defend it at MW once. Rob Whittaker only defended once against the same man he beat to claim it. The most active champion in the UFC. Made the UFC buckets of cash. Who else deserves it? Sean has lost three fights to people in the top five with a 25% success rate. against the top five so far. khamzat who hasn't beaten a top-five guy at MW. Rob or Costa, who have both not strung wins together, had to pull out of fights and lost to Izzy and the champ convincingly? Izzy gave Sean a gift as he was ranked outside the top five and he has already bottled it. DDP and Izzy were meant to fight and they haven't yet of course it's the fight to make. It is not a privilege when it has been earned in blood sweat, tears, profits and accolades. You don't make any sense.

And Izzy had an off night vs Strickland and went the distance. Who has Sean beaten before he fought izzy ?

    • That is such reductionist BS - He is the most active champion we have ever seen, keeping an unreal schedule and unlike Usman and so many others avenged his loss which is extremely hard to do. Before that he was 9 straight... Vettori, Tavares, Brunson, Silva, Gastelum, Whittaker, Romero, Costa, Vettori, Whittaker, Cannonier, Alex in record time. Meanwhile, Sean Strickland has lost to DDP, Cannonier, Alex 3 out of his last four against top five guys. Proof it is not easy to stay and remain at the top. You will eventually have guys kmowing or training exclusively for you, your style and studying you or coming across a style that you can't crack or have an off performance. WAKE Up mate

  • Adesanya is definitely not the best middleweight in the UFC he literally just got beat on the feet by a better more well rounded fighter; he's a great but flawed kickboxer who likes to show off and has quite a limited skillset in MMA, put him against any good wrestler like Bo Nickal or Khamzat and he'll get destroyed, he had very favourable matchups/division when he was champion, with no good grapplers, he arguably lost vetorri 1 and whittaker 2 and most of his fights he's barely winning simply trying to out point his opponents, fighting not to win but to not lose and he's 1-2 in his last three fights when he's got some less favourable matchups ....

    • @@SlimClipper ok? Rob got finished by izzy and ddp, no domination required from how fast he got his ass beat. Trying to hide facts and only announcing the ones that fit what you're trying to spin is so pathetically desperate it's almost cute. Like why cry about something so obviously false just because a well respected analyst who has a much more valued opinion than you said something you don't like. At the end of the day, you know rob has been number 2 to izzy since he put him unconscious for the belt. It's pretty obvious to every mma fan that doesn't live in an online echo chamber where which fighter you like more determines which side you're on that you have to defend.

Likewise, by what criteria are you making the claim that Izzy suffered the worse beating of any UFC champ? • Nah. I think izzy has accomplished a lot in the weight class. Currently, i dont think he's the best. I wouldn't be surprised if DDP ended up beating him at this point. He's almost 35 (death knell for most under 205), and he hasnt looked as good in his recent wins. Whitaker did a great job in the rematch. Ddp knocked him out in the first round. Israel went to a lopsided decision loss to Strickland. Ddp did immensely better and got the win, albeit split. The win over Pereira is nice, but that was a case of "i fought this guy 3 times already, and at some point, i can probably get a win." I reckon that plenty of fighters can get 1 win if they were matched up with them 4 times. He has accomplished quite a lot in the past, but im not sure that his current form is the fighter in the weight class. Im not sure you can confidently say that after his 2 losses in the past couple of years.

  • I thought Strickland won the fight, 1,2 & 5. however, when the fight ended I said it can go either way. It was one of the closest fights I’ve ever seen. Can see why & how DDP won bc of the damage, the pace & the variety. I think Dan’s saying if Izzy fought Strickland again he’ll beat him. Strickland is a great fighter but I think Izzy beats him 7/10 times, maybe more. DDP is still a test for Izzy & we’ll see how he does but I would still say Izzy is the favourite bc of how motivated he will be to beat him bc of the beef & to prove himself again with all this doubt from people . It’s the fight he needs to have. Also khamzat is a going to be a problem eventually I believe. He would be far off the title IMO. Especially if Izzy is the champ. He’s a big name that would be a marketable champ.
