I really hope Limtoys makes accessory sets for this figure, imagine weapon sets for the rest of the guns in the game, or outfit sets so we can eventually make our Arthur figure exactly like he is in our play through
Agreed!! I actually really wanted the Schofield. But I rocked the Bear Hat for most of my playthrough so mine would look silly in 1/6 scale 😅
@@ElbearToys The hat was the one thing I couldn’t bring myself to change personally. Everything else I felt like I could do whatever with, but the hat was just canonical in my mind so I kept it. I’d at the very least really like to have a set of volcanic pistols, as that was what my main weaponry was for most of the game
Beat I can say is look up your guns of choice, I got a mauser, Schofield, navy revolver (online) and a luger(it wasnt in game but its cool and looks like a semi automatic pistol)
Seriously, I gave up on ordering this Arthur Morgan because I didn't like the coat and pants. Later, the price was as amazing as his quality after the spot was released, dammit

Great style to your video. I pre-ordered one of these for the reissue. I hesitated when it was first offered, then R* got it delisted so I resigned myself to not getting one for a reasonable price. Nice to be wrong :) I notice they are also doing a reissue for VTS Red Death: Wilderness Rider; tough choice between the two, and I don't see many (if any) comparison videos of the two 😅 Anyways, I also pre-order the Swtoys Lady Adler, so fingers crossed they look good together 🤞🏻

Actually for some reason I find the VTS to look more superior. This one is great too. Nice to see these third party companies making such quality products.
Well with both of those figures now in your collection, you could replace the VTS figures head with the John Marston sculpt, and make it a duo!

Dude..brah.. your review got me salivating. Everything looks so good. IMO Arthur kinda looks pouty anyway with his full and luscious lips. And that body. I actually got this preordered for me and a friend back when it was announced but there was a supplier problem with the shops in my country so we had to cancel and preorder the second batch from international. I heard they're gonna improve the second batch based on reviews on the first release so that's good news anyway. Thanks again for the review.

@@mucknstrunz Don't quote me on this but I read somewhere that the next batch will have the options for shorter ankle pegs so Arthur's legs won't be as long, which I agree might fit the overall profile a little better. But that's about all I "know" 😅

The 2nd batch was supposed to release around April. That's actually when I last looked around for updates and found that Limtoys is planning to release in even smaller batches. The 5th/6th COVID outbreak in Asia threw a wrench in the schedule. But that's all hearsay so take it with a grain of salt. On the other hand, I actually received my 2nd batch mid-beard add-on from OneSixthKit a few weeks back. Hopefully the full figure isn't far behind. Thanks for watching!

Great review! Could you tell me if is it possible to use the LimToys heads on the VTS bodies? I have the VTS version, but I'd like to use the body and acessories with a LimToys head - which I consider superior. Thanks!
I don't have the VTS Arthur but I do have the VTS Cloud and Jin Sakai. They use the same neck joints so I'm guessing Arthur does too. Pictured in the like below are the VTS neck peg on the left, and the Limtoys one on the right. i.imgur.com/WrMcMLKl.jpg As far as I can tell, the VTS peg didn't have any trouble fitting into the Limtoys head, BUT I couldn't get it all the way in because it's quite a bit longer than the Limtoys one. The Limtoys one is shorter because it has to leave room for swapping hair sculpt. So as a result, the Limtoys head has a giraffe neck on the VTS body. What makes matter worse is that if you get the stand-alone Limtoys head, you only get the black piece that looks like a cap in the picture. The actual ball-joint connector comes only with the full figure. And I couldn't get the VTS ball-joint connector to work on the Limtoys one 😔 I think it can be done. But out of the box, the default parts that come with each version don't play nice with each other, so it might require a more in-depth mod.

Sadly I don't have the VTS version of Arthur, so I can only speak for what I know if VTS's usual works. They're consistent in putting out figures that have a good build quality, but are usually lacking in either likeness or attention to details in the costume. I have reviewed a few VTS figures on this channel. Check 'em out if you're familiar with the characters. The GameToys Cloud video, for example, has a dedicated segment for showcasing the differences between its VTS counterpart. Hope that helps~

Thank you so much for the kind feedback! This one was a lot of fun (and work) to make. But it's worth it because Limtoys has made it clear that they, too, love this character. And I think that's what's different between these companies compared to Hot Toys. The days of Hot Toys needing to prove themselves are long over. They're just a machine at this point, cranking out Marvel, DC, and Star Wars stuff. They do it well, to be sure, which is why they fly off the shelves. But there are no more "passion" projects like we've seen from their early days, like SDU replicas, Storm Riders, and City Hunter, which were firmly ingrained in Hong Kong culture (the city from which Hot Toys hailed). No harm, no foul. Hot Toys is a business after all, and profit should be their goal. And that's why, nowadays, we're at the mercy of unlicensed companies with a real passion for making these figures. They too are out to make money, sure. But with no restriction to creative freedom, they take as long or as much effort as they see fit. It's a moral gray area. Though at the end of the day, fans just want a good product.
For an unlicensed release this is just unreal. Too bad I had to skip pre-ordering it to make way for my other collectibles and I'm regretting it so much already.
If you're still interested, OneSixthKit is currently accepting pre-orders for the 2nd batch run of this figure. Just do a search on his site for "Limtoys" and you should see both the full figure and the mid-beard add-on. But do note the 2nd batch is running into delays, which isn't all to surprising given the pandemic and Limtoys' high standards. Happy collecting~
That may actually be a throwing knife not a cooking knife, Arthur almost always uses his Hunting knife to cook anyways. I wonder if he can hold those prop knifes from the tip like he does in the game. Doubt it tho.
You're absolutely right! I was under the impression he used the smaller throwing knives to cook, and I was hellbent on utilizing them in the "camping by the fire" setup even though this release didn't come with any prop meat...that train of thought derailed its way into my script 😅 But Arthur should have no problem holding those knives by the tip. He has a set of pinching hands that I used for holding the pencil at 9:57 and a shotgun shell at 11:10

I wanna buy this figure but im on the TNS website and the images of the headsculpt look different and worse than the one in your review, is that just the prototype and the real figure is better or did you have the second batch or something?
The images on TNS are of the prototype from 2.5 years ago. During this time, Limtoys had improved the head sculpt, which ended up becoming what you saw in the video. Mine is the 1st batch. As far as I’m aware, Limtoys is producing 2nd batch right now. My guess is 2nd batch will be just as stellar. Thanks for watching!!
One of my shotguns was missing the section that would house the firing pins
Oh no!! Sorry to hear...is the seller able to provide a replacement? Upside is...if this count as one, is that this one just came out, so hopefully there are some extras floating around in case of defects.
Worst case scenario, if they don’t send you a free one when you reach out, I’m pretty sure you can buy spare sawed offs for this figure on eBay
Do I have to use a hair dryer to change hands and other parts? The figure will arrive soon, so I don't want to make any mistakes when handling the figure.
I was being lazy so I didn't use it for the video (and that is not recommended). To be perfectly safe, I'd recommend using the hairdryer, and be sure to heat up the just the hand part slightly while aiming away from anything else (the satchel, for instance, because it's got parts that are glued in). Hope that helps~
Limtoys just announced a 1/12 version of this figure!
Sweeet~ Limtoys is also doing 1/12 Last of Us Part 1 figures too. They have a lot to bring to either scales.

Good eyes~ It does sit a little high, though I didn't find this to be too big a deal in hand, likely because the face is easier to see in this scale. If the hat sat lower, you'll basically have to look at the head sculpt either straight or below the hat to see Arthur's face. But yeah, I do wonder if the profile could improve if the hat sat even lower. Or maybe even another hairpiece that allows the hat to sit lower. Thanks for watching!

Now...I don't wanna sound like an alarmist, but lately there are rumors that Toys Wonderland (which is another name for Comic Sanctorum) is having difficulty fulfilling pre-orders as they didn't actually pay their suppliers to secure any inventory. It's been happening with the Final Fantasy 7 figures by GameToys (and likely any figures that they can sell for way more in the aftermarket than honoring pre-order prices). So they just straight up dropped pre-orders and issued store credit. Or worse: they'd send you a tracking number for a shipment that will never leave the warehouse...only to inform you months later that your order was cancelled. @@TheDerpAssassin Since I personally don't have much faith in Toys Wonderland (TW) and Comic Sanctorum (CS), so I'd try to write to them and ask for a refund. While that's happening, I'd also just pick up this figure at OneSixthKit while it's still available. But this is a tough call because on the off-chance that CS does deliver, you'd end up having to pay for 2 figures. So the biggest question is: do you think CS will deliver? As mentioned, I'm a bit biased in this regard because I've been burned before. So the decision is ultimately yours. And who knows. Maybe CS will really deliver and all this would be moot. Sorry I can't be more helpful. But hopefully that's better than saying " well don't buy from TW/CS". It's already after-the-fact and no one knew things would turn out like this.

I got mine from OneSixthKit. The 2nd batch release for the mid-beard head sculpt is actually still in stock at the time of this comment. I wouldn't hold my breath for a 3rd re-release so now is the best time to get it. Happy collecting~

I agree more and more with this idea as time goes on. On top of that, I'm starting to wonder if the hat being a little "slimmer" would help too. Perhaps my opinion on this Arthur had changed slightly after seeing the recent Indiana Jones by Present Toys. Indy's hat is perfect in terms of proportions and where it sits. But then again, for an unlicensed figure at a very reasonable price, this Arthur is as good as it gets.

Pre-order for the 3rd batch is now open at OneSixthKit for $229 USD. The price has gone up a bit since the 1st batch from 3 years ago but I'd stay it's still very much worth it. Don't forget to pick up the mid-beard head sculpt add-on too! Happy collecting~

I got this via a pre-order from back in 2019. But scalpers are running amok so prices right now are kind of inflated on places like eBay. At the time of this comment, OneSixthKit is taking pre-order for a 2nd batch release on his website, along with the "mid-beard" head sculpt. So don't sleep on it~~

Agreed! Though it should be acknowledged that Limtoys dedicated 2.5 years to this release. Hot Toys MCU stuff are great too but Limtoys' sheer love for the source material is on a different level, and it really shows in the final product 😉

Unfortunately, I haven't bought from Comic Sanctorum before so I can't speak for their reliability. But I did come across comments that Comic Sanctorum is not much better than ToysWonderland in that their shipping is so ridiculously expensive, it's not worth buying anything even at whatever competitive price they list on their site. Then again, this could be just confirmation bias as those who are most dissatisfied with their service tend to be most vocal. So take it with a grain of salt because this is all here say. As for this Limtoys Gunslinger figure, OneSixthKit is currently taking pre-order deposits for the 2nd batch. Limtoys had production delays for the 1st batch, and it looks like the same will happen again. Happy collecting~

@@iliketocomment8144 The last time I heard any news of this figure, the 2nd batch was tentatively slated for release around April 2022, but the COVID outbreaks in Asia around early 2022 must've thrown a wrench in everything, so this release is likely delayed. And this isn't the first delay for Limtoys too. The 1st batch had a production period of over 2 years. But seeing as now Limtoys is so committed to their craft, I'm willing to bet they are more worried about the quality than being a few months late. If it's any consolation, I got the 2nd batch mid-beard head sculpt add-on not too long ago, so hopefully the full figure release isn't too far behind~

Miraculously, pre-order for the 2nd batch full figure and mid-beard sculpt is still available on OneSixthKit. Word on the street is that Limtoys is aiming to release 2nd batch by March-April 2022. So don't sleep on it~~

I feel your sentiment. Funny timing too because just over Christmas, I had to pass on an opportunity for a figure that I really wanted but it was WAY over my budget. But hey, never say die. These figures might be hard to find later on, but they will always be around 😊

But if $349 (in USD I hope) is within your range, then may I suggest checking out OneSixthKit for the Limtoys version? The pre-order window for batch #2 is miraculously still open at the time of this comment. And the MSRP there is only $195, which is an amazing deal for the amount of stuff that it comes with. The mid-beard head sculpt is sold there too.

You’re absolutely right!! For some reason I was obsessed with utilizing the throwing knife as part of that “cooking by a campfire” setup even this release never came with any prop meat. That line of thought glitched its way into my script 😅

Oh hey! Just saw you ask in another thread 😋 I don't buy from TNS too often, but the few times I did, TNS delivered promptly. I personally have bought from OneSixthKit for years and I love their work. The only downside is they only take pre-orders in a limited time frame.

The prices from scalpers right now for the 1st batch is definitely on the steep side. But the good news is, Limtoys is doing a 2nd batch, which you can pre-order at a variety of retailers at the time of this comment. As far as this hobby is concerned, I'd even argue the MSRP is quite reasonable for the stupendous amount of stuff that comes with this release 😁

At the time of this comment, TNS Figures actually has stock from the 1st batch as "in-stock". OneSixthKit has the 2nd batch preorder windows open for both the full figure and the "mid-beard" sculpt. Not sure how long the window will remain open, so don't sleep on it! Please also check with these retailers to see if they ship to your country if you're not in the US.

Noticed many people reviewing are calling his boots “ropers” they are not roper boots. They are just “cowboy” or “western boots” ropers have a shorter flatter heel and usually a shorter leg.
Outside of pop culture portrayals, I actually don't know much about cowboy boots, so I sure learned something new today 😉 Though with that said, I'd say most people called them "Worn Roper Boots" likely because that's the name Rockstar chose. You can see this in Arthur's wardrobe when you swap out his gears. That's also where I got the names for his "Everyday Shirt" and "Work Pants". I'm sure there are better or more accurate labels for those types of clothing, but those names are easier to communicate in the context of the game. Thanks for watching!!

He’s 6 inches?
He's about 12 inches without his hat. A little over with. A 6 feet tall person will translate to about 12 inches in sixth scale. So figure height should fluctuate a bit depending on how faithful it is to the character. Hope that helps!

Hopefully the recently released 2nd batch is still available at retail. 1/6 figures are getting ever more expensive, but what you get from what Limtoys offers at MSRP is almost unheard of in this hobby 😧

It's only $195 including shipping 😉 The mid-beard sculpt is sold there too so don't sleep on it~~ There's a whole legion of scalpers in this hobby. If a figure is sought-after, the price can go up as soon as it's released, and this only gets worse over time. If you can snag one at a reasonable price right now, it's always worth considering.
