Doesn’t get any better to sit back and watch you build and shoot a new Mathews! 🔥
What impresses me is going for the lower right dot at 125 yards. That's confidence and accuracy magnified!
Great Video and breakdown, as usual. I'm definitely intrigued by the bow but like many, have some reservations about the durability of the limbs. It DOES certainly seem quieter, even in the vid, so I assume it's even more (or "less") noticeable in person. An easy test to maybe see what is doing the most vibration-dampening (new limbs vs bridgelock stabs)...would be to put your Shrewd stabs on the 'standard' mounts on your Phase4 and see how much, if any, vibration comes back. Keep up the great work.
I been only watching your contect for a couple weeks now. It has been super helpful and gets me excited to eventually get my first bow.
Watching your videos taught me a lot about hunting and bow’s themselves. Keep up the good content.
You should do a comparison between the v3x and the phase 4 with the same shrewd stabilizers on the phase 4. I think that would really show the difference between the limbs itself. Also it would show the difference between the new bridgelock stabilizers and a regular stabilizer setup. I’m excited to see more with the phase 4!!
I shot them both extensively yesterday, there is absolutely no difference i found, i went with the V3X as its a more simple limb design so less prone to problems down the road.
I love everything about the history & story behind Matthews, with that said I'm so tired of the death by a hundred cuts (( extra added costs before you escape out of the shop )) but as everyone will state that's the way of everything nowadays.
Love these build videos, great comparison between the two bows! Thanks for keeping up with the great content, your work is greatly appreciated by us all!
With the Bridgelock stabilizer mount, Mathews created a solution in search of a problem that didn’t exist.
Haha, truer words have never been spoken. Wow, they put the stabilizer in the center of the riser?! And then proceed to add a bolt to hold it in... and they even give you an offset system for the back bar?! Does this make sense to anyone?? 🤣🤣🤣
Just a way to sell you some insanely expensive stabilizers. About 50% more than their stabilizers from last year which were already double the price of any other stabilizers on the market. I love this bow but where do they getting off making a stabilizer system like this.
@@hootiesfilms6446: I am a lifelong Mathews fan. I own a Drenalin, Vertix, V3X 33 and Phase 4 29. I love Mathews accessories in general, especially the Limb Legs and quick detach low-pro quiver. The Bridgelock stabilizers on the other hand, forget it. Costs aside, they just aren’t as good as what the aftermarket has to offer, in my opinion. And you don’t see the pros using them either.
Love watching the build videos! Shop is coming along really nice
Awesome video. I have learned a lot watching your channel. Watching your channel is what turned me to shooting Mathews, I used to have terrible shooting form, and I learned my draw style from you and I have learned a lot about customizing bows and arrow builds. It would be a dream of mine to be able to get a new Mathews bow and to be able to do a bow build with you. Awesome reveal video. Thanks for the insightful content.
I wonder what Chris would say if he wasn’t sponsored. I’m not knocking anyone but I’d like to hear cons along with the pros.
It’s nice too with those stabs is you can slide them in to fit in your bow case or if your hiking up into country so it’s not catching on anything. Simple and quick slide out and you’re ready to go
I am absolutely in love with this bow. And the UV button release. Buttttery smooooth
Another great video. I would really love to do one of these builds with the phase 4 in the future when I can afford it because I’m only 15 😂. You have inspired me so much to get into bow hunting, and I have learned so much from your videos, thanks.
hey man u swedish?
Super enjoy watching this build, great reviews between the two bows! Thank you !
It would be a dream for me to have a bow like that. I already have my Mathew’s set up planned out for when I get older. I like that Mathew’s continues to make new things and talk with people in the community to see what we all want.
Dont sell yourself short and pick a bow manufacturer before shooting, Im a fanboy for sure but you should shoot as many bows as you can at the shop to see what feels the best for you. All major companies are producing the same quality gear so its just down to what feels the best and shoots the best for you
@@BadKarma.- i would not say the quality is the same with every one. Mathews can be compared to Apple. While all are very good bows, you are absoultely paying for the brand aswell.
Did your bow yet ?
$250 per stabilizer and $200 for the bridgelock. Your setup here for JUST the stabilizers costs over $700, including tax. That's really hard to swallow... Who's idea was it to price stabilizers that high??
At least the quality is really good
No one is forcing you to use those ones. Still has the regular holes for normal stabilizers. Crazy how that works.
I think they did it because they knew people would buy it. Mathews' marketing team could sell Water to a drowning man...
@@davidsteiner6301 so you think it's a good price point?
@@skyheckler I never said it was. All I stated was no one forced you to buy that. There are other options. As far as price, it depends on multiple factors. Your income, your disposable income, are you a serious hunter? Just the occasional hunter? I believe it’s a pretty high price in addition to the bow, but it’s not unaffordable.
Mathews day is the day I always look forward to, thanks for the video Chris.🤙🏽🐝
I like the stabilizer set up but $270 for a stabilizer is absolutely nuts. That's just for one. That's not even counting the rear stab and the mount lol. Wow
And I'd be willing to bet they will be all over the place at TAC
1400$ that’s what nuts
Looking forward to getting this full setup within the next two months
Would love to have a bow built by you Chris….Such awesome videography all around
I love my v3x 29 in granite. I have the hamskea epsilon rest made for mathews. The bows have the same specs.
My question is, if you re-served the center serving the same way to give the arrow a natural left-spin at the shot, are your arrows also fletched with left helical? A lot of archery shops and archers don't realize how important it is to fletch their arrows to spin the same way they leave the string. Personally, I make my strings with a natural right spin on the serving, so I always fletch with a right helical.
Man, i would love to have a shed like that... I know it's a LOOOOOT of time, effort and work that went into it... But seeing it all the way in europe, it looks freaking amazing!
This just in. Mathew’s has announced the new bow for 2024! The phase 4X!
Yeah, it's only $2500! And the stabilizer's another $1000🤣
I bet it's dead in the hand and super quiet. Do you think they make their ambassadors read off a teleprompter?
No, the new bow for 2024 is called the Phase 6, featuring 12 limbs.
Went and got my Phase 4 today. Had a concert to go to right after so getting up in the AM to sight it in.
Love the bow builds keep it up
Great video Chris! Love watching you content… perhaps it’s time to upgrade from my Tactic. Thanks for all the great info! Merry Christmas to dad this year 😂
Love it. Gotta have one!
I would say set it at 13/16 like you said shoot a bearish after paper if you get a big tear turn the Knock First to make sure it ain't a bad Arrow then switch the top hats try it again try turning the knock again that's how I found a lot of them I'm going to tell you right now though I love this Channel and I love what you do and I'm so very proud of you buddy I like Matthews the TRX it was a very hard in between to choose in between it or the BowTech Reckoning I chose the Reckoning I shot three shots off that new SS 34 and had a bullet hole with a bear shaft that's because you could move that cam left to right on the line it is so very dead in the hand and will absolutely pound arrow for Arrow and 50 yards
I hardly shoot archery anymore. But I still love your build videos. Nothing slaps like a tuned bow 👍🏼
Looking forward to this for Christmas 😅
Regarding re-serving for better nock fit... What size serving are you typically using? I think average is .020 for center serving, but I may be wrong. Are there certain materials that servings a made from that you feel are best for center serving vs end serving etc.? Thanks! Always enjoy the content!
Thanks Chris! Great video! 👍
I love watching him build the bows i wish I had a bow like that but I’m gonna gat one
The arrow rest smacking the riser makes more noise than the bow does. That's pretty badass.
hopefully this means more bridgelock sight options soon
I think that back bracket would be a bit cumbersome, you have to make sure to put it in correctly. A regular bracket has a quick disconnect you put in, twist it tight, ready to go whereas this has to be put in almost like a sight bar
Mathews are solid bows. Loved my vxr. I’ve been shooting Hoyt for a couple years now and I will give it to them that instead of coming up with new tech to have people spend $250, they come up with their little nub stabilizer and include it with the bow!
Definitely worth the extra $500.00 that the Hoyt Flagship costs over the Mathews!!
@@bwagner71 didn’t know the Ventum cost $1799.
Yeah but then youre still shooting a Hoyt...
What you pay for with the hoyt is some riser machining & tiny peen extension a $500aud premium. That's the difference between Torrex & Ventum. I shot the Ventum 33 & V3X 33 Mathews 🏆
Just spec'd it out on Mathews website and subtotal was $2,650 before tax. I will definitely keep the Halon.
+ a few hundred for arrows.
Me too lol 😆
Love this! You can tell it has a different sound and is quieter. One question is the down angle on your front stabilizer. With the bridge lock you give that up. Is it worth it??
I’d bet they’ll come out with a stabilizer that has that angle built in. Kinda disapppointed that you lose that adjustability, but I won’t be buying one anyway. Still love my v3😎
@@j1outdoors I had the V3 and sold it for the bridge lock technology. You can tell this bow is quieter too.
250$ for ONE STAB. I'd save the money and buy a normal stabilizer
Love the Bow builds
Miss these bow builds
When are you going to come out with your Chris Bee 🐝 Stabilizer edition? I just bought my Mathews Phase 4 still waiting for the bow shop to adjust my rest so I haven’t even shot it yet, but I shot one of the other 4s they had there.
Dude keep up the work I love the vids man
I just got my stage 4 and I love it and mine on the crono hit 319 on 70 pounds
Have been saying for year Mathews needs one more size addition to the top hats. They need a set that’s equal on both sides putting the cam in the dead middle of the limbs. I’ve seen many guys land right between 2 sets where they get a tail that changes like yours did.
Always been a hoyt guy but I love release season for all brands. I appreciate the engineering behind all the new bows.
Hoyt guy here as well, albeit I almost bought a VXR this year! Mathews does feel great in the hand, but Hoyts just feel better personally! Release season is the best!
I just bought a few days ago the Hoyt Ventum Pro 30...82#'s, 29" draw...The deadest and quietest bow I've ever shot...Even guys waiting around said the same thing...And it didn't cost $700 extra for a stabilizer and bridgelock system...Mathews will ALWAYS give you extra stuff for TONS of extra $$$...Imo, they're not worth it...
Hoyts are purified garbage
It a solid shooting bow it’s definitely quiet got to shoot it at my part time job today
Well, that’s about perfect! Wouldn’t except anything else would we? Good looking bow over all.
That’s some good felt work pal!!
That is the absolute sickest setup I’ve ever seen.
Thank you, job well done
Talks about how these integrate stabilizers eliminate screws and vibrations…..proceeds to put on more screws and brackets just to attach the stabilizers
Lol Chris how in the world did you already get your hands on a phase 4 which just released today? You gotta have a Hella serious sponsorship with them. Thanks for the content and your thoughts of the bow for this coming year
Use black KT athletic tape on the rest. Way better than the QAD felt and silent! I covered the rest fork and made a pice to sit on top of my shelf and it’s perfect. And has lasted 10x longer
May use this for my Hamskea launcher. Stick well?
I do the same!
@@Briguy933 yes it should work
@@Briguy933 it sticks awesome!
@@garrettheapy7254 thanks man, I just ordered some on Amazon
I might have to get this for Christmas 😅
I love the review, thanks.
I had thought you were a part of the design process. I’m hearing its time to upgrade my vx3
Bro that is sick
I bought the z7 extreme, then the creedxs. Hated the creedxs. Stuck with my z7 until I bought a halon 6. Hated that bow too. Shot a triax and loved it but needed some tweaking. Own currently a vxr28, a v3 27”, and a v3x 29”. They all shoot exactly the same. I say all this to get to my point….. if you like the new small features then buy the new bow, it’s as simple as that.
Just curious, like what do you do with al your old bows. Do you just hang them on the wall and never touch them again or do they al get a different purpose. It feels like you have about 15 bows or more.
Okay Chris, you've sold me. I'll be down next week so you can set up my two Hoyts and one Mathews bows for me. If only.
In all of the Mathews Integrate rests you’ve had, have you ever experienced sticky launcher springs? Like the spring in it just isn’t butter
I love watching your bow builds do you think you can do one with the new youth Image bow
I know this video is older, but is there anyway to get a more detailed model/mount part list for this sight? Just got my phase 4 and this type of set up, especially the sight and ability to mount through the riser is exactly what I want. Any help is greatly appreciated!
What’s your arrow weight, type, length, build etc.? Would like a bow tech to explain what they are doing like you are. Haven’t had consistent “help” and with a $1500 toy I want it perfect.
Chris, i'm having a problem with my peep sight on my v3. i've taken it to my pro shop multiple times and it keeps twisting. they tell me it's fine. but again i was shooting today and hitting to the left. adjusted the peep to line up straight and dead center shot. besides going to a different shop lol, what can i do?
I like it. New technology. Everything always expensive for these bows. Pay it once and take care of it, I tend to Keep mine for years. Good job Chris.
saweet... ordered mine today
Does the bee real grip fit on a mission hammr? I don’t want to order one for it to not fit, so thanks and I love your videos so much
Chris do you prefer to wrap the center serving by hand instead of using a jig?
@chrisbee how did you cut your UV slider down to fit more flush in your bow?
you're awesome man!
I just set up my hha virtus drop away. I have a bullet hole but the arrow is shorting way left compared to my whisker biscuit, should i take it into a shop?
Could you eventually buy the phase 4 limbs for the V3X
Would love to get the same string and cables as you have for my V3x. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what brand he is using?
I'm kinda disappointed. I've been waiting to buy a new bow since my VXR but there hasn't been a reason to. This is yet again the same bow minus the limb gimmick. And to be honest the V3X sounded a touch quieter in this video
What type of serving material do you use for the center serving?
My bow is at about 50 lb and i will hunt about 20 - 40 yards do you think that a vap tko will be a good choice
What do you think of the bear g2 cruzer as a beginner bow?
Hey do you know what serving size you used? Gonna have to do the same thing! My 4mm nocks are to tight.
Would you recommend this bow for a beginner?
What's a good estimate on your setup for the Phase 4?
Hey it's way different sounding bow sounds nice to me
“Catch us if you can” Mathew’s new stabilizer to my wallet!! 😅
Finally the 23 bow!!!
I'm so glad to see you twisted the wrong way LOL i seem to always twist the wrong way. like butter side down on toast
Can you put regular sights on a mathews or do you have to use the bridge lock system?
This bow is sick. I bet it shoots pure with the rubber in the limbs and the bridge lock stabilizer. I need to upgrade. Wish I could afford one like this. Keep up the videos. Always like watching.
How long till we get 10 degree down on the integrated stabilizers for an option in the riser?
Chris. How come you choose a cable driver vs a limb driver rest?
What about 10 degree down on the new stabilizers?
Hey, Chris. Are you using the UV3XL or just the UV3 sight? Thanks in advance.
Lucky to have the irony to have a new phone gifted to you and not opening up for 2 days.
What is your a opinion on the v3 27, I am shooting a mathews z7 extreme I want to step up to a newer bow I like small bows?
You should get the savana bow, the honeycomb one
i’m a mathews fan, but dangit hoyt, and bow tech make so many different looks, and different bows made for different things. Mathews just has their flagship, target, and youth.
Hitting the paper was louder than the bow 👌
