The Dance of the Master: Yuen Woo Ping's Blocking Tapes
A pre-viz fight scene from the The Matrix, choreographed by Yuen Woo Ping and performed by his stunt team. The stunt performers is Tiger Chen (lead actor from Keanu Reeve's Man of Tai Chi) and Lee Tat-Chiu.
You really can tell that this crew did not return in the Matrix resurrections. They were terribly missed
Chen did return
amazing to see tiger go from zero to hero from stuntman to star
I want to see a movie with Tiger Hu Chen and Yuen Woo Ping (Master and Student)
Tiger Chen is so cool!!!!!!
The "pew pew pew" noises at 4:39 lmao
Man if only yuen woo ping choreograph shang chi fight scenes
They had the Martial Club guys. I think they were in good hands.
Interesting how the bathroom fight was meant to be longer. I felt it was a bit too quick when I saw the movie, but it might have been cut down to keep the pace of the whole segment up
yeah that sequence was more to show the overwhelming power of the agents in the movie, especially since the movie had so clearly set up that Morpheus was the best fighter. Adds more tension if its shorter
Lawrence actually got really tired so they cut it down because they didn't film it if you watxh the BTS
@@TheLunzDen He couldn't handle the dust
In "The Matrix Revisited" these are known as Yuen Woo Ping's Blocking Tapes. I hope you can add that to the search terms as I almost didn't find this. :(
Keep up the good work.
Tiger Chen in the house. He was in Matrix 2 too.
He’s also in John Wick 3 briefly in the beginning
Nice!
I saw this clip while I was between grade three to four and I just realize one of the choreographer in here was Tiger Hu Chen.
i'd rather watch this than matrix 4. This Is Way Better!

0:37 好撚痛啊
I know what you’re trying to do
Forgive me for asking this, I mean no disrespect. In the world of legitimate martial arts at the high level, is Chen Hu (Tiger)'s diminutive stature a disadvantage either competitively or by appearance, or does it not matter? In the world of movie-stardom, I fear it does. Watching Man Of Tai Chi, I found it hard to believe that such a little fellow could be considered such a formidable opponent.
Well from a competitive standpoint, he definitely has a disadvantage (unless the competition is only forms). Another world-famous kung fu star is also pretty small but he always beats his on-screen foes. This star is Jet Li. And for that matter, I think just about every Chinese kung fu star has been short because Chinese people tend to be smaller.
u wasnt fast enought
0:38 好烂痛啊。 (its fucking painful)
Thai chi is just fake kung fu This fight scene so bad with no energy, and dont connect hit, what even worst they used wired to jump and some hit reaction, wtf.
