Contrary to popular belief, the style of Hat worn at that time doesn’t matter as long it has a wide brim. And Cowboys would save months of their salaries just to have custom-made boots for them. At the end of this video, You will discover why Cowboys were eager to have a pair of personalized Boots. But first, let us show you what people wore in the Old West.

Showing Buffalo Bill as an example of what men typically wore in the old west is kind of like using Madonna as an example of what women typically wore in the 1990’s.
exactly
You give a lot of content in a short period of time, thanks! Keep up the hard work!
None of them dressed like John Wayne or Gary Cooper.
Damn, the dude at 1:00 looks like the love child of Ray Liotta and Freddy Kruger! Bruh...
Just like today it depends on your status that will never change
Love the videos. New Suber
I love this kind of American history 👌🏻
Let me ask yall something...if you live east of the Mississippi and you go out to Arizona or New Mexico or anywhere in the west to stay for a few weeks or months or even permanently, do you switch to an entirely different type of clothes? Or do you just take the clothes you have and dress for whatever weather you encounter? The "wild west" was happening at the same time as the Victorian era. People out west dressed in basically the same clothes as the folks on the east coast. Unless you actually worked livestock, you wouldnt be dressed like a cowboy. You would be wearing the same shit as everyone back east. And unless you were fairly well off financially, it wouldnt be a suit and a bowler hat or top hat either. It would be the same brown slacks, suspenders and ratty white shirt as everyone else.
The pictures in this film are from studios but to get a better idea of how people were dressing in the west we need to examine photos of street scenes. There are many Photos of frontier towns and although they weren’t dressed like those in the studios they were dressed differently from the city people of the east. You do see a lot of wide brimmed hats and boots. Not like they’ve been portrayed in western movies but people in the western frontier did seem to dress differently from people back in the east in some ways
Lol no because I dress the same in Louisiana as I did in California it's all good
Great video! Nice soundbed. Who's that tickling the hot five (banjo) back there?
Enjoyed very much .
You missed some great photos of Jesse James the West's most famous outlaw.
The Derby bowler hat was the most popular hat in the west.
@2:58 Buffalo Bill looking Faaabulous !!! LOL
You mean rhinestones are a myth ? I thought Glen Campbell on horse back singing “ Rhinestone Cowboy “ was wearing what was considered their “Sunday go too meeting clothes “ .
Wool from fur trappers? Really?
Bravo
The rifleman wore wranglers 😝
Did they ride BARE BACK 🤣👍🏻
Only on Brokeback Mountain. ;)
You got most of this stuff wrong
What about the women and children? This is incomplete.
No knife stays sharp unless it's honed regularly.
Todays movie producers usually shy away from westerns, With good reason. When they do make a western every one wears a duster jacket. I wonder how much time they really ever invest in getting any of the facts straight ? And the actors just don't look real or authentic enough. Half of them probably refuse to leave their cell phones in their trailer's incase their agent calls.
Why were the guns airbrushed out of the photos??
Wool from fur trappers? Didn't they farm sheep back then?
lol yeah, had to use traps for those wiley sheep LOL
I have never seen so many pissy people about the smallest mistakes
Buddens Coddin , it's buttons cotton
lol
What, no vests? Most tv western stars wore vests.

Enjoyed this as food for thought. However, am a little skeptical of your facts and conclusions.
So. Do better.
with good reason lol
Very bad. No mention of the trousers. No mention of chaps or spurs. And jeans were what laborers wore, cowboy was no damn laborer.
No gq in 1870 Montana boys
How does youse kno? U wasn’t there
How do people know dinosaurs will existed we weren't there we just have bones for all we know they're wingless dragons some with feathers some with none
Attire and terrain are plural. They don't have an 's' at the end. Ever. Spend a bit of time to check your grammar. Or pay me to do it for you. Don't embarrass yourselves by showing your ignorance.
That was embarrassing wasn’t it? That’s all I could hear and didn’t pay much attention to the content.
