Nice video. I have two 21 days old chicks similar to the one in the video. The mother is pure yellow but the father has a spot of light and dark grey on the feathers. (it looks like a lutino) But the chicks look like they have a lot of light and dark grey feathers. (Pied)

It is true if I have a cockatiel male and a cockatiel female after they begin to mating I couldn’t be to handle on my hand or pet him like before having the female ? Hello, yes I clean the nest box when the babies are around 4 week old. You can not stop cockatiel from laying second clutch, the only thing that I observed is removing breeding box when babies are 5 to 6 week old or in another word, when youngest one is fully covered with feathers. Hope this helps.

one question (may sound silly) why you didn't cleaned the nesting box, i saw lot of poops inside, that may cause infections to baby ?
They are new parents and if I clean the box, they might not accept it and abandon chicks.. Poop is not harmful if it’s dry.. once they are three week old then I will clean it up.

Hey, once they are 8 to 10 week old, their wings are developed and they can fly.
Brother my cocatail hatched three chicks two were growing but one expired today should I clean cocatail nest or let chicks live in this box for few days
Hey.. sorry to hear that.. don’t clean the box until checks are big enough 3w at least. And then you can do it every week.

I got 2 cockatiels and one of their eggs are about to hatch, i was wondering that does the parents automatically feed their baby do they know when its hungry and so? i'm afraid incase they reject the baby but of course if that happens ill have to step in but i just wanna make sure and know. Ill be thankful for any respond.
Of course parents know what their baby need. You must ensure that they have unlimited supplies of seed mix and sunflower seed. If possible egg food as well. All the best

1) sunflower seeds 2) eggfood 3) seed mix 4) green veggies twice a week 5) multivitamin drops twice a week in their water. 6) plenty of calcium, cuttlefish bone. Hope this helps

My cockatiel laid 3 eggs all are fertile 1 of the eggs hatched today I believe the others will hatch tomorrow or the next day hopefully I bought an incubator and hand feeding formula because I was worried they wouldn't care for the eggs or feed the baby so just in case, I bought that stuff But I saw them feeding the baby today! 😊 I will be doing what you were doing in this video instead of the hand feeding Thanks so much! Is it normal for the parents to not sit on the newborn chick at first? My couple had their first ever hatch today, and they are sitting in the nesting place and feeding the baby just fine, but they're not sitting *on* the chick and I am quite worried. Is that normal or is there anything I can do?
It depends, if temperature is high then they will not sit. They sit on newborn to provide body heat and to save from cold weather.
My baby cocaktail bird is 1.5 month...he eats 4 times in a day 15 ml (hand feed formula)so is this right or wrong?and it's summer time here so should I give him bath or not?
I would suggest not to give bath until 3month old. But again go with your instinct, if you thing it’s necessary because of summer heat then go for it.

It’s difficult to predict gender until 3 months, if you want to know before that then DNA test is the best option.

You do very good at breeding and help raising and taming little baby, But the parents cages, too small they need a larger cage that is very small !
They only stay there for breeding. These cages are optional for breeding and then goes to flight cage for resting.

Ring size is 5 or 5.5mm. And when cockatiel eyes opens, that is the time you should ring them. At around 10 to 12 days. Hope this helps

Sorry to hear that.. I only recommend hand feeding if parents reject baby or in any unavoidable situation.. main cause of babies is not surviving is crop related issue.. sore crop or slow crop… it depends on two factors (1) temperature at which you need to keep babies.. it varies every week (2) consistency of hand feed, it also varies every week.. and is complicated to explain.. its better to contact vet immediately..

Usually you can buy in nearest pet shop but you can also buy online

It should hatch within 20days.. 35 days means, chicks are dead within egg.
My bird had had laid two eggs and wont sit on the. Why?
May be you can wait for 3rd egg as some cockatiels do it to hatch all eggs at the same time or in short intervals.

Why did u not remove unhatched egg?
Unhatched gave them hope that another baby is on its way. Otherwise they might have stopped feeding the chick and started laying new clutch. I should have replaced it with dummy eggs but I did not have any at that time.

With DNA test, it can be identified as male or female. I always do that with egg shell.

The results is mostly affected by what bloodline they carry, I’ve an albino female and pied male and I have not seen a albino chick. If the bloodline is pure then only you can predict results otherwise it is hard to predict. Hope this helps.

This was not the first time.. I didn’t hand feed.. if parents are feeding then I prefer not to intervene…

The only thing I noticed is you should’ve took the egg that didn’t hatch out. It looks like it’s rotted and it exploded and has bacteria on it that could harm the baby bird or the parents

It depends if eggs are fertile and if it’s properly incubated.. in my case I have had time when all eggs were fertile but non hatched and some time all hatched and chicks grown to adulthood..
