Its part of selling actually. If you ding every aspect of a product, the seller would have less reason to raise their price or even lower it. Sure its illogical but at the end of the day he has a point. Quality is a huge aspect especially to collectors which who he gets majority of his money from.
@@marco7campos I'm aware of that, my issue is that they said as if they expected that a *600 year old book* might be in excellent condition. Of course it won't be in excellent condition, it's 600 years old. I mean, the Vatican has books that old in great condition, but those are sealed in air tight boxes filled with argon or co2 or some other neutral gas and it's away from sunlight, and no one ever touches them without gloves on. Some random person had this, so it's obvious it wouldn't be in very good shape.

Absolutely love old books. Had a teacher in high school who was a collector. One day we walked in the room and it was dark with a few weak candles. He was at the front dressed like a monk..we were celebrating the 500th birthday of one of his books..greatest guy ever!

I understand he has to re-sell it and that if he put it in an auction that they'll take an additional 15-20%... but his offers still seem pretty low 90% of the time. Which isn't just a problem unique to Rick, but 99.99% of pawn shops in general. If anything Rick's offers are probably way better than most other pawn shop offers since he is being filmed and has a reputation to uphold...

Especially in pawn shops, they are in the business to make money by reselling stuff so they will never offer the customer the full theoretical price. If you want something at the full price it is worth you will sell it to someone interested in that particular item. Selling to a pawn shop you will always get less.
