When you really look at it both Mario sunshine and sonic adventure 2 have the same story. Main character gets framed by imposter and gets is on the run from the government: Not to mention both games were technically the second 3d games in the series along with being released kinda next to each by I think a few years. funny how that is.

Super Mario Sunshine is either my favourite or second favourite 3D Mario game ever. I like it better than Odyssey. I think Super Mario 64 is my favourite, and in second place is Super Mario Sunshine.

I love the cutscenes in this game. I dont care what anyone says. Theyre cringy, but charming as hell and I really like how it actually provides context for mario to be in a setting that sets this game apart. I hope a future 3D Mario someday looks back here for inspiration

Ok so Mario's face looks different in 7:19 compared to the original and I can't figure out if they redid this specific shot or if it is an emulation issue...
This is not an emulation issue. All of the cutscenes are video files that are programmed to play after certain events in the game. What Nintendo did was use higher resolution renders of these videos. Higher resolution means better clarity and so it is easier to spot the imperfections made by the artists. One thing that was easier to notice upon watching the hd version is how much of the shading was painted on the characters.

looks like F.L.U.D.D. doesn't know the names of the nintendo switch controller's buttons. let's fix that with a controlled shock wait this isn't the 3D all-stars version, Xcagegame's video of the 3D all-stars version of super mario sunshine has F.L.U.D.D. saying "this button" instead of saying what the button actually is also i can tell this isn't the 3D all-stars version because you can't partially press the R button since it isn't an analog trigger; in 3D all-stars you press R to spray water while moving and press ZR to spray water and aim in any direction
