Awesome as always. Is it possible to make it with pedal switches instead of buttons, just so you can use both hands to hold the object before clamping?

Please make a chain guard. That open chain is an accident waiting to happen. Great project though

Love this - great as always. Agreed that pedal switches would be a good functional alternative to the buttons, just so you could keep your hands free. Amazing in any case!

Brilliant, Maciej! Really fantastic work! 😃 I made a small wooden vise using a threaded rod and you need to turn it too much! The motor definitely helps a bunch! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

You should run the power cable to the movable jaw through the vice body and out the end because it can’t get damaged that way and it would be out of the way

Część Maciej. Możnaby zabudować silnik i częśći ruchome. To nie jest zbyt bezpieczne. Opilki metalu czy inne syfy będą sie przyklejać do smaru i dostawać do środka z przesuwem imadła. Jakby jakąś harmonijkę osłonową zamontować z mocnego materiałuy elastycznego.

zmianę kierunków bez problemu można zrealizować na dwóch przekaźnikach z jednym stykiem SPDT- to roziwiązanie będzie miało jeszcze jedną zaletę, szybko zahamuje silnik, przez co imadło będzie bardziej precyzyjne.

Might do the same thing to the front instead coz my big vice is stronger than anything you can make at home.

Yeah so automatic bench vises don't seem to be a thing really on the market after a quick Google search. This might work as a great kind of prototype if you could get a company to invest it it. Just saying.

Nice but I see problems with the M20 screw thread dept, too shallow, will wear off fast, also your chain needs tension. Also you could put more adhesive strips for the PSU and glue it all over the surrounding areas, so it has max adhesion for the high vibration, specially with a chain so lose. The clamp pad screws don't seem sturdy enough, and eventually will wear off, rather sooner than later
