The much-discussed and potentially shocking film Challengers is finally here! In my Challengers movie review, I'll reference my experience with Luca Guadagnino's films and his directorial perspective and style.
I'll also express my appreciation for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, whose illustrious career in film scoring I've appreciated for many years now.
Lastly, I'll discuss the charismatic and impactful performances of our main cast, including Zendaya, Josh O' Connor, and Mike Faist. I'll also touch on some strange cons in relation to the film's sound mixing and runtime.
Let's get into it!

  • If you loved Challengers, then you’ll probably be in the camp of people who like Bones & All. Yeah I definitely agree with all of your negatives, D. That music playing over characters dialogue felt like they were in a night club… in a sauna 😂 I’m glad you had a good time with it, more so than me 🙂

    • It's the nightclub experience that the music is going for because it's wild and crazy...It's a master class of how to make the movie intense with all of the twists and turns it's giving you. 😄

  • That musical opener was brilliant! 😅 A- huh? Wow, that's a good D Movieman score right there. Looking forward to seeing this movie. Bones n' All was gruesome, but maybe not as bad as you think. You have GOT to check it out, dude. It is a helluva film. I was thinking about it for days afterwards. Fantastic to spend this time with you, awesome review as always! ✌️🎬

    • I couldn't tell you where that came from. This brain of mine is something else! 🙃🙃🙃 I'm so surprised that I enjoyed this one as much as I did. Even with the flaws, it really resonated with me. I know! It's going to be a rough time visually, but given my growing appreciation of Guadagnino, I feel like I really have to give it a watch! Thanks so much for your commentary! 🙏🙏🙏

    • Hey, Shawn! I really had a fun time with this one, although I'm finding that I seem to be in the minority where the general audience is concerned. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it as well. Thanks for tuning in! 🙏🙏🙏

  • 8:16 THANK YOU! I literally thought I was the only one who couldn’t hear the dialogue out of all that techno background sounds in a lot of these scenes 😂😂

  • Firstly. You got a great singing voice LOL. Did not expect that. Guadagnino is one of the most interesting directors around these days and I am really looking forward to seeing this one as i enjoyed Call Me By Your Name, Bones & All and Suspiria. Terrific video

    • Hey, Terence! Thanks. I can hold a tune if nothing else. 😉😁😂 Guadagnino definitely has a distinct perspective and vision for his films that I really appreciate. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. 🙏🙏🙏

  • Damn what an intro lol great review man been hearing a lot of mixed things about this movie especially about the slo mo that cut of Zack Snyder fan 😂😂but I do want to check out the movie especially with the pov of tennis matches that’s awesome to hear that it brought you back that excitement when you were a tennis player at a younger age

    @ykreview@ykreview12 күн бұрын
    • This was honestly not planned! My comedic creativity knows no bounds, apparently. Slow-mo for me only works in moderation. Everything else feels unnecessary. 🙃🙃🙃 This definitely had me wanting to hop back on the court pretty soon! Appreciate you tuning in, my friend! 🙏🙏🙏

  • You were a tennis player? Coool! I will watch this given the reviews I’m hearing but I doubt I’ll go to the cinema to see it.

    • Hey, Lisa! Yes, although I do wish I had continued on as I had gotten older. It's one that seems to be dividing people for sure, but it's also one that doesn't require the theatrical experience to appreciate it. 🙏🙏🙏

  • My Mom watched Gone Girl, and she thought that the movie was interesting but the ending felt odd to her.

    @TG5455@TG545513 күн бұрын
    • I've read the book and watched the film twice and really enjoyed both. The ending is effective to me because the unexpected antagonist sets the ultimate trap for the assumed antagonist. But I also don't mind shocking and/or unhappy endings, so I can understand why it might not work for some people.
