I wish they added "Sleep" to our Dormitory. That would be a more immersive way to change the time of day. Plus, our Common Room doesn't really have that much to do.

Not sure if someone already mentioned this but regarding the broom. The left trigger boost bar only goes down if you are at a high altitude. If you’re low to the ground it’s a constant boost without cost.
I have to say this game has exceeded my expectations, and my expectations were super high! Currently at about 21 hours, absolutely in love with the game. Also, I just cannot stop getting lost in Hogwarts lol, trying to memorise my way around is exhausting!

30 Hours in 🙃 I haven't progressed that far, have just been exploring, taking in the sights and views and have been enjoying the side quests. Needless to say my life has been overrun with this game. I am absolutely loving it, I can't wait to see what happens next and when I'm not playing I'm watching Hogwarts Legacy videos like these 😂 Haven't been this immersed in a game, ever! ❤

I'm 10 hours in and this game is absolutely stunning. I can't wait to unlock the flying mount just to sit back, relax and fly on a hippogriff and absorb the beautiful graphics

@@Mentality_ali They is a mission where you meet Natsai Onai at night and storm a castle, after that you get the animal mounts. Its just after the main story quest where you meet up with Sabastian and go through the unforgivable curses quests.

Turning off Camera Relative Targeting was a godsend for me. I can actually take out multiple opponents in all directions very easily, rather than having to rapidly whip my camera everywhere. It also makes for a flashy looking combat scene.

good to know, especially about the camera and controller sensitivity, i'm photo sensitive so a spinning camera can be a bit much sometimes so i'll defnitely have to tweak those settings for myself, also it is surprising that it takes so long to get the broom, but i guess it makes sense to lock you out of going crazy too early and getting into more dangerous areas

Also if u put cam acceleration all the water up it does the same as turning it down except the cam is faster so even more sensitive
Idk if you have noticed but I also found that casting Rivelio at high altitude helps you see points of interest in your area for a long range (like merlin trials, poacher camps, treasure vaults, etc.) Also I play on PC and I can do the gold path tracking to anything I have marked.

Another great video Retro. I'm having to avoid many videos as I'm making very slow progress and can't play too much at the moment. My problem now is getting enough gold to buy potions/herbology ingredients to continue and not too sure where to get the money for it. I've sold stuff and opened a fair few chests and still think I'm very early in the game. Sadly, accessibility isn't quite as helpful as I would of liked and I may be missing a fair bit of key info across the game but hope to make more progress.
30 hours in, Master piece if your a harry potter fan like me. I would say my favorite game of all time now. For most I would say this Is a pretty good open world rpg and a must play for anyone a fan of the genre

Somthing to note about the Stupefy counter, it won’t break enemy shields on Hard mode

Loving it so far. Just wish I'd remembered to get the nab-sack bag before i found a puffskein nest. Ended up using "Accio" on the poor thing instead by accident, and they started running. I'm like: NO! I'm so sorry. Related: I got seriously mad when my explorations led me to a poacher camp and I saw a Puffskein (complete with sad puppy eyes) looking at me from inside a cage.

Ik at 20hours in now and I am only just now right past the mission where have to collect the helmet for the goblin. I did every npc quest and side missions already. The game has so much to offer. In lvl 29 tho so fighting enemy's is so easy when required lvl is 17
I've been watching some of your video to help me play the game. I not use to using a controller and so I've accidentally flick my camera up when trying to move. It's definitely take some getting use to. I've taken off the mini map oer your suggestions and I've definitely started getting use to where everything is on my own. Floo flames are great for traveling.

I am here to tell you that you can have a tracker to sidequest yes the main at yellow dots are the priority but if you turn those trackers off and then press up tracker I will lead you to your side Quest what it is doing is making your yellow pointers priority but if you turn those off it will tell you the direction to go for the grey dots

The little gold trail that guide you to your quest it can work with side quest and any point you put on the map! Some side quest doesn’t work tho, because you are supposed to follow a map or solve riddles to find your way! Hope this helps ☺️ thank you for so the tips! I been playing non-stop since I got it! There is sooo much to do and see !! It’s overwhelming in a VERY good way!

Sell it because you’ll get a lot of gold gear and the lower stuff just wont be as good as the stuff you’ll be getting.
For the first 16 hours or so, I never fast travelled except when the story forced me to. When I finally tried to, I thought my game was bugged because I was approaching the floo flames like you think you would. It took me an additional four hours to realize I just go to the map.

Also you don’t need to purposefully skip time if you don’t want to. If you get to a quest location that needs a different time, it’ll just prompt you to “wait” right there in the world at the quest location.
Yep, the quests will prompt you. But there's a certain item you can only collect at night and it won't prompt you to change the time.
I absolutely love how enemies have unique weaknesses. Like using levioso right when a dugbog shoots its tongue at you will dangle it in midair lol.

I answer that in the video. You can fast travel to any of them you’ve activated by using the map.

This game is amazing so far. I'm getting my wizard butt handed to me pretty regularly in combat on hard...just unlocked the talents though so maybe that will help. Just so much going on at once, and spells coming from everywhere, and the parry windows seems tighter than most games with similar parry mechanics, not to mention the icon is hard to notice unless you're looking for it

Small thing that’s really disappointing is when random howlers appear. The student seems so upset while the event is happening. But as soon as it ends they kind of reset and just walk off. I’m really missing the reaction to events in the NPC. Would be amazing if they looked to Skyrim and had NPCs react to events and player actions.
To me honestly. The game is great. It feels as though this game is more like an introductory action RPG game. Easy and fun. Every element and fundamentals are basic. Hands on but easy to learn. Not very complicated. Like it was for me growing up. Mario RPG was my very 1st taste of that type of game and gave me the confidence to take on bigger more in depth RPG games like Final Fantasy.

Great tips! I played with the mini map off for my first 10 hours, then turned it back on. Honestly, I’m leaving it on. The amount of side quests I was missing was insane! I’d run right past someone and wouldn’t hear a thing from them.

What's the max character level
So, I've never been a gamer at all in my entire life but I have been a Harry Potter fan for 20 years and naturally I had to play this. However I played it all without googling anything or looking at videos just trying to avoid spoilers and pretty much wanting to experience everything for the first time, reying only on my witts. Needless to say that I fcked up a LOT and I died a million times and now that I finished it I feel like a complete dumbass lol a few things I figured out myself but theres sooooo many things that werent intuitive for me. Still I had soooo much fun and can't wait to start again tomorrow with everything I know now.Thanks for the tips!!!

Wow!.. you can run around in a suit of armour!?!?!...awesome, can you wield a two-handed sword or polaxe as well? lol
from what i've seen (i'm 14 hours into the game), you can't wield any weapon other than your wand :D but there is a talent that allows your "expelliarmus" spell to hit your enemy with their own weapon (kinda like in the first harry potter movie when Harry defeated the troll by beating him up with its own club)
@@beniamingherman2452 I'm only a few hours into the game so not unlocked that much. I bet some of the PC modder folk will be all over this game at some point, they will try and make Hogwarts in to a Bannerlord expansion haha.
One quality of life improvement would be to not have the gear you are wearing take up from your total inventory slot. That is such bad design, I can't find a good reason for doing that. If you wear it then inventory should be freed up!

Also with brooms you can mount them when falling it has saved my life a few times when I misjudged a jump

They could for an end of the year surprise. Lore wise the headmaster has quidditch matches banned for the current in game school year which is told at the very start of the game. Same with diving in the lake, they could definitely add it in later in.

I put in a 8 hour play session and it bricked my ps5 lmaoooooo I don’t blame the game because I’ve just done it again on my xbox to catch up and it’s perfectly fine. So disappointed I have to wait a while to play the PS exclusive quest

Incorrect. You can’t be anywhere to use a floo flame. You actually have to be somewhat in the vicinity of one. Pretty much anywhere in the castle it’s going to work, but if you’re out in the middle of a field, no.
Hmm. Are you sure about that? I've literally never had it pop up and say I couldn't travel to another floo flame even when I'm out in the world.

Make sure you also activate it on the official Hogwarts Legacy site too. You have to activate it there as well, then restart your game and it should pop.

I love how you make it sound like the 6 equipment slots is a low amount or shitty for some reason. Weird.
Not referring to those slots. Referring to the 20 total slots for all of your gear. You'll run out of space very quickly if you aren't selling gear or doing the Merlin puzzles to add more slots.
I just need this game to support mods and addons. I want people to create their own story lines, NPCs and zones so i can finally play as Harry potter killing death eaters and Voldemort.
You do realise this is set 200 years befor harry and even voldy are born? Would really be a stupid mod to add, since its not even a harry potter game, is a wizarding world game. Harry has nothing to do with any of the story line or lore. Harry potter is used way the fuck to much. We need a new protagonist and main character instead "the twat who lived" tho i did make a harry potter character in Slytherin with the most female voice i could find just to have it show up in the main menu each time i open it.

And the good thing about addons and mods is people can make whatever the f*ck they want without having to care about what you think is right or wrong. Just because you have a preference doesn’t mean other people are forced to like the same thing.
I gotta be honest... i really dislike to wear too much stuff in games. Like gloves, hats, etc. I much rather have a clean look of the character i created. That's just me, of course. I hope i don't need to do it just for the upgrade stats.

The parry window on hard is so small, too small if I'm honest.
I just bumped it up to hard yesterday. Really enjoying it so far.
Do not anbi repeat do not always change gear to the highest make due with what you have sell what you don't use or need even if it's higher. If your purple hat has a trait like all damage increased and it's a lol 2 or 3 and you don't have that shit unlocked yet keep it and use it and thank me later
Yeah, these tips are for early game. Traits don't really mean much when you're just starting out. I'm going to make a more advanced video later though on the equipment as you get to higher levels.
@@RetroRaconteur tf they don't traits matter a lot. Increasing damage or resistance of certain spells or creatures. If you find a robe that does 67 and a robe that does 70 but the 67 dmg robe has a lvl 2 or 3 trait for increased resistance against mongrels or wizards or goblins or trolls or has increased damage for all spells it's best to take the one with trait but lower damage then higher damage and no trait. That's early game.
I wish I could click my bed in my common room to switch from night to day.

The core game is fine and all, but I can't help but feel that Hogwarts seem a bit static and empty, like an electronic musuem of sorts at times. Also, the menus are sooo so clunky and slow. I mean; why does the game have to fade out to black to load in the menu screen? I also don't want to look at that slow opening book everytime I press the menu button. I also don't like the circular cursor system in the menus... The slow momentum of the menus would not have bothered me that much if it not were for the fact that you spend to much time in the menus in the first place.
