In addition to taking care of her mother, Serra works in a luxury hotel and studies at a private university on a scholarship; Despite his young age, he had to take on great responsibilities. Selim, the heir apparent of the wealthy Kutlusay Family, who is studying at the same university, receives criticism from his family, especially his father İhsan Kutlusay, for his indifference to his studies and his fondness for entertainment.
Serra, who is trying to get out of work and catch up with class, goes to school by limousine as a result of an incident at the hotel, causing all eyes to be on her. While Serra's fame spreads rapidly at school, their accidental meeting with Selim will completely change the lives of both of them.

He was a hooligan before he went to jail. Yes he did not want Burak to have accident but he was guiding Nazli to be a thief. He was also getting free food by scaring people

She's crying because she has to wake up everyday and do so much, and she's the only she can rely on. She's crying because she has to clean this toilet, she has no other option. May be this gives you some perspective on how wrong Burak's behaviour towards Serra has been. This is episode 4 you will see what I am talking about in later episodes and will read the comments attacking Serra later. I was back here to reply to a comment and thought to make this point. I did not like Barbos at first. He is a bully and a criminal who turns out to be very funny but even though he loves Serra and followed her at first, (Spoiler Alert) . When he found out Serra loves Selim and they are together he backed off and became a friend to Selim. You will see what Burak did.

Serra has been telling all of these people to leave her alone, but no none of them would. They kept at it.
Selim having an unhappy home has his devotions placed with his old friends. So after listening and getting impacted by the lies made up by Biricik, he lashed out on Serra without asking her what happened. At the same time seeing her with Mart he is burning with jealousy. Out man can;t make up his mind. We see the lives of Serra and Selim while two different class, they have been through the same kind of problems in their childhood both betrayed by their fathers and both have been taken advantage of by people around them. It is so sad.
but Selim has power that Sera doesn't, and his mood swings make Serra's life difficult......
@@lilypond5158 Agree Selim is privileged and has more power than Serra in many ways but Serra has a stronger personality than Selim and that is why she is able to help him. I think once they are out with what is going on in their head they are a good compliment for each other.

Yes they did a switch in his character first made him funny and then made him a friend to Selim that is why we like her. The second thing he did and I liked was that he did not harass Serra after he found out she was with Selim , he backed off.

Mart did not know Selim and Serra has feelings for each other. He liked Serra and wanted to have a connection with her (I thought him getting her a gift was a bit too much) . Then he saw Selive insulting her and walking away. He did not try hard enough to clarify the situation for Selim and let him go. Then he arranged for the scholarship for Serra to go to America not knowing how much they were in love.
I admire Sarah so much; no one ever told her she had to be nice or made her feel guilty for defending herself against her bullies. Girls are raised so differently from boys and this drama really hammers it home: smile you’ll be more pretty!
It’s crazy how many admirers serra has! Like a new one appears in every ep 😂😂 she is beautiful tho but sometimes that beauty can put u in an uncomfortable situation..unfortunately that’s the reality of the world we live in. I can’t believe we had to wait until the very end to see their first kiss!! Omg I was furious but I watched that scene about 10x cus it was just so heart fluttering 💘💘 selim is a good man but he doesn’t make an effort to communicate and clear up his misunderstandings. And I still can’t get over the fact that he has a se*ual relationship with an older woman 😩! Also I feel serra can be abit too much with her attitude sometimes, but her behaviour towards burak was inevitable. If burak had stopped pestering and left her alone then barbas wouldn’t have got involved. But I hope burak gets well soon I do feel sorry for him!

YEAH!!!! Finally Serra says ENOUGH ALREADY! 😀 I can't wait to see the gossiping, plotting trio go down. I knew it was a matter of time before Selim go it.
Selim & Serra Selim is used to women falling all over him, Serra was a challenge he was not used to, her indifference towards him to be exact. Selim secretly admired Serra from the very beginning, noticed how he was staring at her in the library scene when she was viewing the viral video of their first encounter. Then towards the end of episode 1, we see him reliving his moments with Serra when they’d finished study. He saw the shocked expression on her face when he told her “Thank you” and her relaxed facial features then. In the following scene, when he and Burak met in the parking the morning before class, he noticed Serra immediately as they were walking in, notice how his lips parted as if he was holding his breathe at the sight of her. He got so distracted while trying to maintain his conversation with Burak, that Burak had to follow his gaze to understand why. That’s when Burak realized he has an attraction towards Serra as well and rushed to see Onur to get Serra as a study partner himself. Jealousy Scene When Serra and Selim were first introduced as study partners, in the hallway after they left Onur’s office and were processing being study partners, Serra chided him over smiling when for the first time he noticed Serra smiled at him. He made a corny joke about her being able to smile and having teeth. This led Serra to smile a bit more and Selim was affected, so he too smiled widely at her as well. Serra became conscious and chided him on smiling too much. In the scene with Mert, Selim got angry when he saw how wide and long Serra’s smile was. Added to that, he’d never seen Serra interact with a guy where she was all smiling and being all sweet, like she was enjoying herself. He only saw her being neutral with Burak and hostility towards the scene leading to the slap. He’d already had a big crush on Serra by then, seeing Mert touch her got him angry which led to him going off on Ali. That is how he processes anger- he has to be beaten or beat someone. Mert touching Serra, something he’d not been able to do to date, made matters worse. The hotel room scene compounded the situation even more. It was early in the morning when he came to drop off the briefcase, he naturally assumed Serra spent the night with Mert, scene with tangled bedsheets dropping on the floor. But as we can see, his pull towards Serra was already too strong, he still sort her out in the afternoon when he knew she would be at class. He clearly has no classes on that day due to his mother’s memorial but still he found himself going to the university to confront her. By then he already seemed to have memorized Serra’s hangout spots, he knew where to find her without even calling her. The rest is history from there, he seizes his opportunity after Serra pours out her anger on him. Idil & Selim Selim’s troubled past would have led him to fill the void with women he knew wasn’t good for him (Idil to be more specific). He went to a foreign country to study but while there he felt continuously lost and alone. He has never gotten over the loss of his mother, seems like he’s seeking maternal love. Based on the way his father was raised, he was not able to provide him with the love and attention he deserved, the mother filled that void, so when she died, he broke down and to date has not been able to recover. His troubled relationship Idil started in New York, she was a familiar face to him amidst his troubles, thinking they slept together once after his notorious nights of drinking and it became a regular thing between the two afterwards. That’s where she came in, more like a mother comforting a child but in a twisted way. The pressure of his father, stepmother and now feelings he was developing for Serra led him back to her- he couldn’t process it all rationally. He only seeks her when he thinks he had nowhere else to turn (he said it as much, I didn’t know where else to go”). She as much said the same things when she asked who pulled at him his father or Arsena, she knows his triggers from the perspective of therapist (twisted as it may seem). Notice this was directly after his heated conversation with Serra at the mall about the suicide- I don’t think he could have handled Serra’s harshness towards him. Serra didn’t even want her friend Pinar to introduce herself to Selim and it went downhill from there. That was his last encounter with Idil I believe, noticed when he and Serra had the fallout after the night in Abant, he went to Idil, but this time they met at the café and talked. He trusts her and she helps him process his emotions. Before, he would have slept with her to make himself feel loved and nurtured. Also, Idil at one point when she met Nil and Selim talking outside the house in Bebek, said -I haven’t seen you in a while, you seem to be happy, -something along those lines. This is a critical point to help us understand his relationship with Idil- it wasn’t love. At the suicide scene, he reiterate to his friends he is single. Notice how harsh he was towards Idil afterwards when Nil left and they continued talking. Telling her so what if he has a girlfriend and then moving on to say he hope she doesn’t get hysterical because he doesn’t want her anymore. His facial expression at the end was one of annoyance.

This is so well written - I enjoyed reading it! I did notice how Selim was staring at Serra in the library while she was looking at his phone. He jumped when she suddenly reacted 😆 I also love that moment in the parking lot when he and Burak are walking and Selim notices her. It's these subtleties in body language that show that he started falling for her right from the start. I love that he never denied his feelings for her. Once he realized how he felt, he made it clear (can it get clearer than a kiss?)
Barbaros is perfect example of don't judge book by it's cover , although he love Seraa and didn't want anyone to look at her but he didn't want to kill boorak

Exactly ,and later in the end of drama I found out Barbaros just so cool ,he helped her to clear her name in watch theft and so on .. But I've no complaint of ending Sera and Selim ended up together but I still want more of them like wedding and having a good family life ☺️

I actually feel bad for Burak. I think he wouldn't have crossed so much lines with Serra if Bricik wasn't manipulating him and making him feel inferior to Selim. Yes, he can be annoying but I think his case is really a fear of rejection. It doesn't excuse what he did but I won't put all the blame on him.
I'm still annoyed cause how many times does serra need to say no in every episode. He should take his anger out on selim cause dude straight up betrayed him. Burak told him I like her from ep1 🙄

I am watching this series because of Cansel Elcin, one of my favorite actors. Here, he is different from his other character roles. He has matured a lot but still move with elegance . He plays a dad very well , with depth and interested to know his story with Serra’s family .

They don’t care for romantic drama shows in America. That is why internationals shows like Squidgame, Lupin, Escobar, Money Heist and the Protector are popular with US audiences because they have little romance but rather are suspense and are thrilling. As far as music goes, it depends. Americans here are into different music genres. Only teens are into boy bands. Even movies. The less romantic the better it will do in theatres and grosses half billion or billions in revenue. It’s part of the American culture to watch shows and see movies, no other country will ever surpass popularity in Hollywood. Hollywood is the blueprint.
because most of the American shows gives more priority to 18+ scenes instead of actually portraying the chemistry between the leads, that's why i prefer korean,chinese,japanese, thai dramas.
