Nowruz, also known as Persian New Year, is celebrated on the 21st of March every year, which marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. However, in some cultures, such as the Zoroastrian tradition, it is celebrated on the 23rd of March.
Nowruz has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Western Asia. It is a time for renewal and rebirth, as well as a time for family gatherings, feasting, and gift-giving.
The celebration of Nowruz typically lasts for 13 days and includes various rituals and customs, such as the cleaning of homes, the setting of a haft-seen table, which contains seven items that start with the Persian letter "sin," and jumping over bonfires. The holiday is also marked by the exchange of gifts, especially between children and elders.
Nowruz is a significant cultural and religious event for millions of people around the world, and it has been recognized by the United Nations as an international holiday since 2010.
