Charles Hanson discovered two Fabergé flowers in a tea-towel inside a shoe box, they are now expected to fetch £500,000 at auction. Mr Hanson, a familiar face on TV’s Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip, says they took his breath away when they were brought into his firm’s office in south-west London. About 80 Fabergé flowers survive - compared to around 40 of the original Imperial Fabergé eggs. The flowers, which are six inches tall, will be auctioned by Hansons on June 11.

  • Simply amazing! Ive always been facinated by faberge and the royal family! These are similar to the million dollar faberge flower that appeared on antiques road show. I always keep my eye out for anything by faberge. Never found anything yet but never say never! The next egg could show up someday?! Ty

  • As usual, not a single word about the people who made the object, Peter Faberge never ever designed or made an single object himself, he was just the owner of the company and the link to the royals, the true stars here are the workmasters of the company.
