  • This is one you should definitely check out the DKDKTV Explanation video. A lot of cultural references. "Baepsae (뱁새) = Crow tit (small bird with short legs) = Try Hard" They use the word "Baepsae" in a few of their songs and depending on the translator it will say either "Crow tit" or "Try Hard". Baepsae is literally the Korean word for the bird, Crow tit, but they also use the small bird to represent a person who has to try hard to accomplish anything. If you had watched the first one, you would have seen them play Rock Paper Scissors to see who was going to do the final dance that HOBI usually does. SUGA lost. :P

Suga/Agust D lost 😂 and this was his freestyle!🤣🤣 this right here! Thus is why we stan these guys so much! Not just cuz they're massively talented multi faceted and humble but because they are a bunch of CRACKHEADS! And we ARMY love and are here for it! Borahae my friend great reaction as always. • YOU DID THE DANCE PRACTICE TOO!!!!! Ok! So you did the mirrored and not the actual. The original showed that Suga lost at rock paper scissors and had to do the “dance break” at the end that Jhope usually does. It’s pretty hilarious! A lot of the dance practices have tons of personality, like “War of Hormone Real Version” dance practice. They released it for fun for the anniversary. But yeah, LOVED IT! Knew you’d love it! You should check out the Festa Live 2021, and they perform a B-side track from each year they’ve been a group. It’d give you a look at their personalities as well as being able to see their musical growth through the years.

  • for context, J-Hope normally does a dance break where SUGA was "throwing it back". They actually did a rock, paper, scissors, to see who would do a dance break, as a joke, and SUGA lost. So he had to twerk. There's also a Halloween dance practice of GO GO, where V loses and has to dress like snow white, and the others are dwarves. They did it for ARMY's. It's so funny, you should check it out sometime. I linked the one with English subs, so you can see the rock, paper, scissors, and know what they are saying in the beginning, but switch over to the original for the song, because it's muted in the first one with Eng. subs. BTS Go Go Halloween dance practice English subs - kzhead.info/sun/h7WOpJtwq2OHbHA/bejne.html BTS Go Go Halloween dance practice Original - kzhead.info/sun/edBuZMt_Z3RufGg/bejne.html FYI - Bangtan Bombs are BTS's official behind the scenes for dance practices, and other BTS content. Then Shooting Sketches are also, but those are for Music Videos and more official. They didn't start adding English subtitles until much later, so ARMY accounts would add subs and re-upload. That is what I linked you in the first video (Bangtan Subs), and the second video is a Bangtan Bomb.

    • I would also like to mention the Spring Day dance practice where the song, normally a stately, deeply moving elegy about loss and survival, is turned into a satire where all of civilization collapses in melodramatic clowning, the best friends sworn to eternal devotion have a fist fight where they almost kill each other, etc. But comedy is always the other half of tragedy, so it makes sense. But better to see and fully appreciate the original Spring Day first.

  • 8:13 they keep saying “try harder” ( the older generations) failing to understand that effort gets you nowhere in a broken system, all you’re doing is furthering the broken system instead of taking it down and implementing a new one that actually works. BTS are genius.

  • The detailted explanation of Baepsae from Doolset: Note: There’s an idiom “뱁새가 황새 따라가다 가랑이가 찢어진다,” meaning “If a crow-tit (or parrotbill) tries to follow a stork, it’ll split its legs.” It teaches how you should tailor your ambitions to the measure of your abilities or the resources given to you. BTS often call themselves as 뱁새 (crow-tits; pronounced baepsae): underdogs, those who started with disadvantages, the powerless in the society, and so on. (They nonetheless refuse to frame themselves within the limit of crow-tits. They rather challenge the norm and gladly split their legs. Though it’s painful and takes a whole lot more of efforts, they do succeed in walking along, or even past, storks.) 황새 (storks; pronounced hwangsae) in this context means those who are born with advantages. The contrast highlights the severe socioeconomic inequality in Korea. The English title of this song is Silver Spoon, which is synonymous with (inherited) wealth. So the Korean title (뱁새; crow-tit) and English title (Silver Spoon) actually mean the opposite to each other. They might have decided to title it Silver Spoon in English to emphasize that this song is about socioeconomic inequality and injustice. doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/?s=baepsae

  • Thanks for your reaction! Baepsae is always a classic with armys and is totally a banger during live performances! Just fyi, bangtantv is an official bts channel. It's the one the use for posting non-official discography content, like dance practices, vlogs, behind the scenes, and other vids. This channel is only for BTS related content, the hybe label channel has official releases for all artists under hybe. If you watch the one on the official channel (first vid u saw), the guys have a little scissors, paper, stone session (as expected of official ambassadors of the World Rock Paper Scissors Association) to decide who's gonna do the dance break at the end. I really enjoy your reactions and your thoughts on a lot of the issues/imagery in their content, especially when you geek out on the instrumentation and production haha! Hope you continue to enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole!

Bapsae is a ‘crow tit’ which is a small bird which is compared to current generation and a stork which is compared with older generation. You should check out the translations at dulcet Bangtan where they are much more accurate. You could also do the explanation video by DKDKTV, as well as the live performance. It’s fire 🔥

  • This is absolutely a top tier BTS song for me. When it comes on in the car, I lose my shit. People probably think I'm having a seizure. What a great reaction, so glad you loved it. And the Dance Practice is legendary. At the start of the Bangtan Bomb episode it's in, they have a big Rock, Paper, Scissors battle (how BTS pretty much solves any problem), which Suga loses. That's why he "throws it back" towards the end. He has to fill the dance break which is normally J-Hope's responsibility. 🤣🤣🤣 This may have already been suggested to you, but I think you'd really like "Anpanman". It has that mix of musicality, inspiring lyrics, and personality that you seem to enjoy. I'm the same way, and "Anpanman" is one of my favorites. It doesn't have an M/V, but it does have several live performances. Here's a link to my favorite. It has English subs and it's them just having the time of their lives playing around on giant inflatables on the middle of the stage while still giving a fire performance. kzhead.info/sun/arimYp2Nq3x5oIk/bejne.html

  • Baepsae is my damned song! This is the song that made me Army. I knew you would like it!! So glad you do - I really do enjoy how you talk about the words, meanings, musicality and the beats. That is why you're my favorite reactor. I am so proud of BTS they are a phenomenal group and unbelievably talented individually. Keep going on your journey it just gets better...........

  • watching that dance practice i couldn’t help but let out a happy sigh. these guys are such a safe place for me and so many others and watching back on videos like this brings back so many safe memories. it’s the reason why so many armys enjoy watching reaction videos like this, a reactor genuinely enjoying watching bts, because it brings us back to when we first found them and watched and reacted the same way. we miss these boys a lot and are anticipating their reunion in 2025. as you said, they have a strong brotherhood and armys with them are an entire family. the universe decided to seperate us from our family, and it hurts having to wait, but our bond will only grow stronger as time goes by 💜

  • This was one of the first songs I heard from them and a favorite to this day hehe Also, if you would have watched the official dance practice video, you would have seen that they threw a rock paper scissors at the beginning to decide who did the dance break and Suga lost hahshshh that's why he was throwing it back lol (BANGTANTV is their official channel for content that is not music videos, the bangtan bombs are usually behind the scenes content) Love your energy!! Till the next video!!

  • he catches every single little detail, we need more people like him, oh and God I love how he is just so into it, like pays attention to BTS's qualities, their videos meaning of each and every line too you know, and their solo careers. idk how, but I just feel he is a very kind and good person at heart, very open. cause most people hate on BTS when they don't even know about their different songs, or the difficulties BTS had to face to reach at this point (THE TOP). I appreciate him well, because he also respects/know about their worth(talent) BTS.

  • In the chorus you can hear them singing ‘hwangsae’ for a lot of times. Hwangsae is a kind of bird with long legs(storks), and ‘baepsae’ is bird with short legs(crow tit). It means privileged people(in the lyrics, ‘them’) and unprivileged(us). Unprivileged people in our generation don’t have any chance even if we try hard, so that’s why they’re saying ‘try hard’ and ‘effort’ make them feel cringe.

  • I love your reactions and your deep appreciation for the music. It is hard to find reactors that truly value the beats and take a moment to praise the musical engineering behind BTSs songs. Baepsae is an amazing song. Kind of an anthem for the newer generations. If you search Bapsae explained you can find several videos that break down the lyrics, mainly because there are Korean words that don't translate as well in English. You can always go to ‘doolset lyrics’ for a good translation. There are some Korean idioms and sayings that can be hard to understand with just the translation, so you need to dig a little deeper to grasp the full meaning of the song. The dance for this song is just them having fun and joking around. Plus, the choreography is designed to kill the fandom, the hip thrusts, and Hobi’s sick moves are part of the experience. This song live is such a bop and definitely one of Army’s favorites. It is always fun to see people falling deeper into Bangtan’s rabbit hole. Keep going, there is still a lot for you to discover. Tons of love to you 💜💜💜💜

  • You should definitely check out "Spine Breaker (등골브레이커)"! It has an amazing message to younger generations plus it sounds incredible! I recommend watching a lyric video like this one first because while there is a music video, it doesn't have subtitles and you may be a bit confused after watching it without context. BTS filmed the MV for Spine Breaker on their own and both the process and the results are hillarious! You should definitely watch both! They also performed it live and killed it! MV making: kzhead.info/sun/pZqrpJ2sfnOQjJs/bejne.html (some music is removed due to copyright so you have to watch the finished MV on its own: kzhead.info/sun/Zpp8Zs-HbJ6Paok/bejne.html ) live performance: kzhead.info/sun/pdWAaKd-aJeBn5E/bejne.html ps: we don't mind longer reaction videos so don't worry about that

  • 12:49 Something to keep in mind is that we assume that because they're putting music out now, and seem "so young" that its FOR the current generation, but EVERYONE in BTS except JungKook is a millennial. Which is why I think those of us pushing 40 find them so relatable. 21:54 lol ALWAYS assume that when this kind of tomfoolery (ESPECIALLY IF ITS SUGA!) is going down someone lost a game and this was a "punishment" 🤭🤭🤭

Also, if you really want to see their personalities, start watching Run BTS. It’s their own variety show. You can also check out a very funny series of BTS where they used to give punishments and penalties to each other. It’s been upload in a channel called ‘the k-pop’.
