  • I used to buy almost every planner I saw or heard about ..... so expensive and wasteful but I couldn't find planner peace. I have been in a Hobonichi Cousin for the last 4 years!! I really like the monthly, weekly, daily pages all in one book. I also like to "chunk" mine up with washi and stickers and bits from travel, etc. I keep it in a Galen Leather cover that I use every year. Planner peace is amazing! (I do love the cover of your Passion Planner - so beautiful!) I love your videos Amanda! Take care and God bless.

    • Hi Carol:) Thank you for sharing your Cousin and cover with us! If I wasn't doing this job I would have 1 weekly planner and 1 daily planner a year;) Having all these planners on the shelf are a blessing- but also makes choosing difficult! And it's my job to try them all out when I review them...and that leads me down a rabbit hole;) I love that you have found the right one for many years for you!

      @AmandasFavorites@AmandasFavoritesАй бұрын
    • Yeah the Cousin is my go-to as well. This year I started bullet journalling on the daily pages and it's working fantastic for me. Just a beautiful planner with beautiful paper, it makes me so happy to watch it chunk up over the year!

  • You are speaking my language! The planner struggle is real. I have gone all around the world with planners and always come back to my ride or die, Passion Planner! I have gone back and forth to EC, HP, Laurel Denise, TN, BuJo, B6 TN, A5 Rings...but I always return to Passion Planner. I love the bound book. I use a Small size Monday Start. I was frantically looking for some important event last year in my planner and couldn't find it because I was looking thru 6 different TNs. I had a meltdown after that and went back to the Passion Planner...bound, all in one place, lays flat, vertical space, but room for lists. I just add color and stickers to it.

    • I love this testimonial! Thanks for taking time to share;) The small passion planner lines are just so tiny for me! I wish the Medium Passion planner was a 7x9 but that the lines didn't get any smaller with the slight decrease in size;)

  • So I was drawn to Sprouted planner hourly when you showed that planner in this video. I went to the website and was thrilled to see the page offered as a free printable. • Amanda, if I was in your line of work I'd be planner hopping all year! Happy you found a new system that's working for you. I have tried so many and still love seeing your reviews of new planners. From years of trial and error, my list of planner "musts" is pretty long now (no ghosting, no tiny time slots, no big coils, etc.) so I have to improvise a lot. I've found some planner peace this year with a 7 x 9 EC vertical placed on a EC notebook-sized coil, 6-months in each with extra note pages in the back. On busy days I clip a daily sheet to the front. It's pretty portable but if I need to take something smaller, I have an A5 Moterm with a little notebook, clip a daily sheet to the front, with a monthly Ashley Shelly tucked in the back (found it on your channel:). I would love if EC did a 7 x 9 softbound collab with you!

  • Here’s a tip for the white out tape: I have learn that rubbing it in with your finger (I think it is called burnishing) really helps (and I use Tamoi River paper)… it sets the white into the page and somehow it becomes much easier to write on… I figured this out from card making techniques- also some people prefer Posca Pens to white out

  • I use a couple planners that I have not seen anyone else use, which means there aren't to many videos on them. Wishing I knew how to do that, I would totally love to learn. Anyway, my catch all is a Callie Danielle planner. It is a vertical week with plenty of space. For my personal health and fitness I use a Silk & Sonder monthly. I am a professor, so the EC teacher planner is what I am using. I am soon going to be a PhD student and now, I am in decision mode about how and what I am going to use for this new season.

  • This video makes me feel so much better! I've been feeling really restless with my planner setup this year. I just got the Laurel Denise vertical weekly undated to try. I always feel guilty planner hopping, but at least with undated I can hop in and out so it won't be wasted even if I don't use it consistently. I'm sticking with the Sprouted monthly for health & gratitude stuff. A notebook for work (I draw a simple custom layout) And for my daily list . . . we'll see. Kinda just using up list pads and stuff, and waiting to see what the April releases bring (especially how the Erin Condren compact vertical looks, as that worked for me before . . . and maybe the EC monthly for work if they undo their changes to the monthly dashboard)

  • I went through several in January, but I also came back to an EC. I’m with you, it just brings me so much joy with the colors, and of course switching my covers. I did change it up to her monthly planner (former horizontal planner girl) and it is actually working great for me! I am someone who likes using one book and I then transform each page into to do lists, keep project pages in the back, along with some trackers. Making those lines pages into anything I want has really given me planner freedom and flexibility and I’m loving it!

I'm also using sprouted planner because it's just chef's kiss 🤌 It's light weight, folds back on itself and the coil doesn't get in my way. Not to mention the layouts are perfection. • I loved watching this video! I have felt this way so often in my planning life, as you well know. The planners that I have felt the most settled in are Laurel Dense, a5 Daily Duo (when I needed a daily, which I don't right now), and Hemlock & Oak. I would say those are my top three planners I've ever used. Honestly, if it wasn't so. much. work. I would bullet journal. I've tried that several times before, and it just takes waaaay too much time and effort. In fact, I'm at the point where I want to do as little set up each week as possible. I just want to be able to open the page and go. With that in mind, you have intrigued me to give Passion Planner a try. I've never tried it before. All of the black has always kept me away. I had the idea to go onto eBay, and I found a brand new, never opened 2022 medium sized Passion Planner for $5 (plus shipping). I'm excited to try it out. And if it doesn't work, no big loss.

  • I appreciate how you help us identify what we want in a planner! Watching this video made me realize why I always go back to Franklin Covey spiral for my work planner - because it is thin and easily portable - And the layout is important to me. I love having a two page per day spread for work to have a list, time block, and a page for daily notes. (Am in many meetings…) I repurpose the weekend pages for the next week’s tasks and then look at that list daily to pull in tasks and plan the day. For my personal life planner selection, your videos were amazingly helpful too! Went with MakseLife for Goal planning and weekly planning. Other than wishing I selected vertical layout, it is working beautifully for me. But, I must have Erin Condren paper and colors in my life☺️- and this is where I landed and hope this ‘EC addiction’ advice can help others. The EC Monthly spread planner is PERFECT for Bible Study, writing prayers, writing spiritual lessons, writing stories you want left behind as Spiritual heritage, capturing quotes, tracking church activities, solos, SS planning, spiritual goals, etc. Using EC for that special area of your life that we want to work on or dive in further is a great way to have that EC planner ‘fix’ in your life😊

  • Have you thought about the hourly EC softbound? I wonder if you would be able to break up the bottom section like you are wanting and still have the paper and colors that an EC planner has. Just a thought I had.

  • i happen to like the things you dislike about the passion planner,, i like that it's grey so it doesnt distract me especially when i colorcode,, and i like the to do list lined ,, you already have the free side ,, as for the daily , i like that its undated so i only use it when needed without wasting those days and they have a weekly view free printable you can stick it on the free page before the week as well as other add ons since its undated it becomes so much more versatile 😉

Thank you 😍🫶

  • HI Amanda! It's been a minute. I watched 2 videos last night (this one and the Pen one -LOVE IT!) and I have comments for both so hopefully I get them on the right ones, lol. Hemlock & Oak - I wanted to try it too! I downloaded the free undated PDF and used it for six months a few years ago.... AFTER watching one of your videos, lol. I did want to mention that I had a Common Planner that I used white out tape with, and I did fine with the Pentel EnerGel on it. I'm not one who cares if it matches or not - just get the stuff out of the way so I can write what I want 😉. Coming from the generation of No Correction anything - even the liquid whiteout when I was younger, I was grateful for ANYTHING 😂😂😂 I tried a Planner Perfect sub box for a few months, but the paper just wasn't fountain pen friendly enough for the specialty inks I use. Her stuff is too cute though. I got one of the notebooks too thinking it was an A5 but it wasn't, so I gave it to my girlie for her lab bench notes. I really did like the Planner Perfect planners, but I do like grid/graph, and they do NOT offer it in the sub box I specifically asked once I got the dot grid and found it wasn't for me. PS - I have been so busy the last 2 months that have I haven't really had time to do anything but work, take care of family, eat and sleep so I actually STOPPED planning and it was nuts, couldn't remember anything, what I was supposed to be doing, where I was supposed to be. Things have calmed down now and I'm back to my Jibun Techo. I'm also having a bit of a planner crisis too because I do like the JT but it doesn't have everything like the Hobo Techo (I received the exact same Hon for Christmas that you have, but I haven't used it yet, lol) I also have the Take-A-Note and I haven't used that either. Like CarolRodenbeck231, I need some planner peace! 😂😂😂

  • OMG Amanda. I went through almost exactly the same path you did plus and minus a few different options. I also landed on Sprouted which I was a little sad about because I couldn't find a lot of planner channels talking about it. But even if it wasn't what everyone was talking about, I went into it and it just worked and it felt like finding a really comfy pair of jeans that fit just right. Can't believe the coincidence though. Haha. But if it works, it works, right? I'm happy with it. Just crossing my fingers for next year that we get a lighter cover with warmer or more romantic color options (this year was all blue and green), a better bookmark, and maybe a slightly smaller coil. 😂

    @n_marie_yt@n_marie_ytАй бұрын
    • Which Sprouted are you in? I love your description of how it feels;) I also would like happier covers. The dark cover in the daily first half of the year doesn't excite me. I need happy colors:)

      @AmandasFavorites@AmandasFavoritesАй бұрын
    • @@AmandasFavoritesThe Sprouted Daily. I got the hummingbirds the first half and the green for the second half. I tried going smaller but being constrained some days is what I discovered triggered my planner restlessness. The daily has enough for the busy days and I just don't worry about the white space on quieter days. I was in a hemlock & oak for two years and I tried to make it work this year but I need more space at the bottom of each day for my to do list. They took off one row this year, so sad. I just don't like whiting out the numbers to make more space because the pen looks different over it and my white out isn't impeccable so it gets messy. I'd get the hemlock daily if it's split into 2 books, dated, and with a weekly preview page in between weeks. I'm also very softbound-leaning but I'm making the sprouted work for now by flipping it. Sigh. If only we could combine all the features we love from different planners into one perfect one.

  • I started with a half letter disc from ClothandPaper for work with daily inserts and the planner from The inspired stories the horizontal version for personal use. But it didn't work out well because I move around a lot and I take public transport: they are too heavy. Then, I used the Jibun Techo b6 slim planner. It's a very nice tool. But I deconstructed it to insert it into a 6-ring planner. And now I can't look at it anymore. Now I am in a bullet journal for work and a weekly pocket leuchtturm for personal use. At this time I am thinking about adding a vertical weekly insert because I don't want to draw them myself 😮‍💨

  • Oh gosh!! Love everything you shared here. Really appreciate how open you are about the try and re-try process to landing on a planner. These all look so doable. I love and want a coil for the ability to fold it over so you just have the one side taking up space on the desk. But for me, I really struggle with coils. My hand feels restricted when writing and I feel it up against the coil; I have to scrunch up my writing in those boxes/lines. It's so uncomfortable, the coil limiting my flow of movement. You know what I mean? One of those "fingers on a chalkboard" kind of irritation, lol. Anyone else? And if yes, how do yo overcome that? :)

    @lauriesotro1941@lauriesotro1941Ай бұрын

  • I have been in a Sterling Ink Common Planner B6 all year, so far, and I love love love being able to see my monthly view, weekly view, and daily view in one bound book. But I'm also using a Laurel Denise vertical planner to try to time block. (I am not always so successful at this.) I also love Laurel Denise because they really embrace to do lists and don't act like they're terrible, but the fact that I can see one big list at a glance means that I don't have to rewrite my lists ever week or even every day. It's so great.

  • I have finally been consistently using a planner since November (!!!) and it's the A5 Common Planner BUT am starting to get annoyed with myself because I'm only using the monthly layout and the daily pages (they are unstructured dailies like graph grid note paper). So I am feeling the pull to get something like the Simplified planner when they next launch because I only ever use my monthly and daily, which is exactly what Simplified has. BUT Sat and Sun share a page so I'm getting confused again lol. 🤣 us indecisive planner people. Thanks for sharing!!
