Newly released bodycam video shows an Ohio dog owner's furious reaction after her yellow Lab, Dixie, was gunned down by a cop. Dixie's owner, Tammie Kerns, says her four yellow Labs ran out of her house and were being rounded up when a cop pulled over. Dixie ran towards the officer and was shot. Within moments angry neighbors came out to vent their anger at the cop who shot the beloved family dog. Now, protestors are calling for the officer to be prosecuted for animal cruelty. The officer says he feared for his safety.
If you're scared of a lab dog, don't be a cop. Imagine what he would do to a human. SMH.

Tbh, she should have more control over her dogs. Hard to witness, but as a delivery driver, I don't mess with any dog running to me, because I've been surprised by the turn of aggression, even from goldens.

What you should do is control the situation before it happens (ie: leash, holding the dogs, fences) especially when you know that a dog going near a police officer is never a good sign. Dogs do bite. Dogs could rarely be a threat but it's a threat nonetheless.

May DIxie rest in peace. To the owners, grieve and mourn your beloved dog that didn't deserve to die. The loss was really devastating. To the officer that did that, it's a dog, if PETA or any other company saw this, they'd freak out. Justice for Dixie (edit: thank you for the likes, I never thought this would blow up. If you're wondering, I did lose a family pet when I was younger, so this means a lot to me. When I was little, we had to give away our cat to a lady who needed him more, he died a few years ago.)

My Chocolate Lab loves meeting new people. She's the sweetest little girl you will ever meet. However, when she wants to get Mommy and Daddy's attention, she will definitely let us know it. Labs love making friends, and Dixie probably assumed this officer was her new best pal. 💔💘

The baby was just running around the yard. She was definitely not "charging" him like he claimed. This infuriates me and breaks my heart at the same time. Unfortunately, I doubt anything will happen to him because it was "just a dog". My heart goes out to the family because losing a furbaby is like losing a family member.
