Meghan, stop presenting women in general as victims. It is insulting. You could have let Serena tell us what she did to become a world class tennis champion. What obstacles did she overcome. How hard she worked. That would have been much more interesting than your drivel. Serena is a role model and inspiration to women. She didn't use men to get where she is. She did it herself.

These women are such heroes. I am a woman who served 9 years in the US Army. They're whining about having to play a tennis match after being up all night, and having to go to an official engagement after a minor fire in which your baby wasn't harmed? (It's so hard to wear a beautiful dress and jewelry, and go out and smile and shake hands for a couple hours. I know). I remember pulling many, many 24 hours duties and having to do PT at 6:30 AM with severe menstrual cramps, and living in warehouses with open bay showers. My heart is really bleeding for these 2 women. Maybe both of them should visit Dachau the next time they're in Europe, and find out what REAL suffering is.

What a load of crap. So she's crying about having to spend an hour or two away from her child after an almost accident? Then we are to believe she was "forced" to go to an engagement when all she wanted was to be with her baby. Really? Wasn't this the trip in which she cried to Tom Bradby about not being asked if she was ok? So yeah, I am not buying that the RF could force her to do anything she didn't want to do. I guess she had no problem being away from Archie while she was playing the victim on television. I mean does she really think this story resonates with any normal working mother? I had mom guilt the entire time my kids were little. I had to work, I didn't have the choice not to. I couldn't afford an amazing nanny who carried my baby around on her back. I had a babysitter who watched other kids in addition to mine which meant they were constantly sick with one thing or another. I went to work all the time when all I wanted was to be at home with my kids, so I hope she doesn't expect me to feel sorry for her. And as far as being ambitious goes, I have no problem with someone being ambitious. It is only when you feel your ambition gives you license to walk all over others to get what you want then discard them when they are no longer needed that I haue a problem with. Honestly, she disgusts me. She wouldn't understand hardship if it hit he upside her head.

The Real Truth: small heater began to smoke, someone on the floor smelled it went into room and unplugged it. Child and Nanny downstairs nowhere near the room at the time. But because meghan is an actress and loves made up drama, she feels the need to overreact to a none situation and then be praised for overreacting. I'm curious what should they have told the public, some that had been waiting out in the heat for hours to meet them...sorry there was a small appliance that let off a bit of smoke in a room that my child was not even in and i'm distraught therefore i can't come and meet you? The true story is that the baby was not in the room, an electric heater had a small amount of smoke emerging from it, and was unplugged. It was taken outside, no fire brigade was called and there was no fire. In an earlier trip, her female British police bodyguard actually e-mailed her resignation from the role back to London, ( she had to give notice ) before even getting home, such was her experience with Megan ...

If Markle’s mouth is moving you know she’s lying. There was no fire. It was a heater that smelt, was unplugged and dealt with. No fire services involved. Who puts a heater on anyway during a spring day with temperatures in the mid 20’s Celsius and you are outside wearing a sleeveless dress as she was. The recommended room temp for sleeping is 16-20 Celsius as being too warm is a Sudden Infant Death Syndrome risk factor. The child would be dressed and covered when sleeping. The High Commissioner’s mansion where they stayed was refurbed in the 90’s following a fire so it’s up to date with fire regs and it has a thatched roof as built in a traditional style, but yeah she says no smoke alarms! The official staff in South Africa have disputed this version of events, see Robert Jobson on the Australian Sunrise network YT.
Also, a professional Nanny would make sure a tired baby is put down in his crib for a nap before snacking. She would have called room service, after he is asleep, instead of wandering downstairs seeking food for a snack. She would have been highly trained for emergencies. She would have been alert to a smoking heater anyways, and would know how to quickly carry a baby to safety. Archie was never in danger due to a smoking heater.
Meghan did not discuss anything other than herself in that interview...even when Serena told about an issue she went through, Meghan turned it back on herself...At least she is showing the real her that everyone can see for themselves in this podcast...

I note that Serena went from an acquaintance (her own word) to a close friend during the time that their husbands formed a business association. Whether the friendship will outlast being talked over and upstaged by a non-achiever remains to be seen. We have a lot of ambitious women in the U.K. They tend to succeed or fail by the same criteria that ambitious men do, often related to the amount of hard work they do v how much they talk about it.

I cannot believe I listened to those commentators discuss how hard it is to be a strong woman in todays world. Sure, I remember a time or two when a couple of insecure men tried to “put me in my place”. I also remember not getting in a huff about it. I know my worth and am not easily intimidated. I also was able to look around whatever rooms this may have happened in and saw that the rest of the men and women on the room saw my worth too. What was interesting during this episode Serena apparently wasn’t allowed to bring up the fact that she had a children’s book coming out? I don't get it. Was the heater turned on when the temperature is around thirty degrees? Archie's not bread to bake. Is she really complaining about having to keep working after nothing happened in the end? Sure, it's shocking, but nobody's hurt. Does she first need a four-week cure to recover from it? If she so emotionally unstable and is so resentful that even now she has to take digs at her husband's family, then she really needs help. The woman has absolutely no strong nerves and no particularly high resilience. And Ambition is neither good nor bad - it is a neutral quality that people possess to a greater or lesser extent. It's the people who can be problematic. Hitler and Stalin used their ambitions in destructive ways. Would have been better for everyone if they had been lazy. What I'm trying to say with the radical example is that it depends on how people use their ambitions. And if she wants to talk about the negative image of ambition in women, then maybe she should talk about women in history who have been criticized for it with a historian or psychologist who can also contribute professionally to the topic. It seems to me that she is only using her podcast to defend herself once again.
According to those who were there in the building there was no fire. The heater was smoking and it was removed. The baby wasn’t even in the room. Also she said they were in a hiding unit. It was the governors refurbished mansion where all dignitaries stay. I think in 2019 there would have been smoke alarms and for security reasons.

I remember my boss said to me "don't you think you are a little overly ambitious" when I tried to apply for a new role in the company.
