This is the story of one man who survived ‘six hours in hell’ and rescued his comrades against overwhelming forces in the Vietnam War.
As President Reagan said: "If the story of his heroism were a movie script, you would not believe it".
Master Sergeant Raul Perez "Roy" Benavidez aka 'Tango Mike Mike'

  • Thanks for posting this amazing video on my dad. I think it's important for our youth to have videos like this that they can relate to. My father dedicated his life to speaking to our youth, our future leaders of America. This is a video for all ages to enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. -Yvette Benavidez Garcia, Roy's daughter and author of the children's book, "Tango Mike Mike: The Story of Roy P. Benavidez."

  • I met him when I was young, my Mom, my older brother, and I were at WOMAC hospital on Fort Bragg, I have forgotten why we were there, but my mom could only carry one of us. Then MSGT Roy Benavidez came over, he was there for a check-up and carried me on his shoulders and bought us burgers from McDonald's. That man is a true hero and I'm proud to have met him along with the other heroes I've met in my childhood. The world needs more heroes like him. The hero isn't the fastest, the strongest, the smartest, or the best looking. The true heroes are the men and women who no matter the trials, do what they know is right. That's what we need, real heroes.

  • Hero. A shining true example of a BAMF Hero. I had to rewatch this just to confirm what I heard! I can’t believe the determination and the drive of this hero. I can’t even call him a “man” because it seems too minuscule to call him nothing else but, HERO. I researched this hero after watching this vid and found many others. MrBallen does a great rendition of this story too I have to add. But what a hero. What. A. Hero. God bless you, hero. May God bless you to the fullest and may you be held in the arms of our saviour and honoured in heaven. You were not only a great man, but you are most indeed a good man. 🙏🏽 Respect 🫡 ✊🏽 ❤✌🏽🫵🏽🦾👊🏽🖖🏽

  • Just walking again after a spinal injury that is supposed to put you in a wheelchair for life is amazing but qualifying for special forces after an injury like that is beyond words. The fact that he survived about 15 different injuries that would all be fatal on a lesser man afterwards and was the last one in the chopper and still had the strength to spit in the doctors face and recover makes me a bit ashamed I let myself be retired from the military due to just a TBI and shattered fibula. This man is a true hero.
