idk, about the dream, mariko's medal wasn't unique, in fact I imagine the Portuguese priest would give her one fairly common back in his homeland. Plus, we come back to the dream, it's more than one scene. And when have you ever dreamed yourself to be very old? No dream I ever heard of includes the dreamer being old. Perhaps the scenes are meant to be ambiguous. You can think of it as a dream if you want. Maybe?
I want a season 2 buddy comedy, set in an alternate universe where Yabushige and John have their own adventures in London 🤣
Someone needs to do this atleast with a fan comic or manga, and I will support it 100% 😂😂😂
This would be great! John and Yabushige go on the piss!
Brilliant idea. Rodriguez needs to be in it too! He was so funny. 😂
Now that world would be hilarious 😭😭
Giri Haji?
The women in this show are tough ladies. I love how Ochiba plays the innocent little girl while having all the power.
Toranaga as well seemed as the victim... till he was proven as the ultimate bad guy with all the plans in his favor.
Many Westerners are unaware but, this is how Asian women are. When Asians see how Westerns fetishize and stereotype Asian women as subservient and mellow, we laugh to ourselves thinking "These people have no idea what they're up against".
@@unwokeneuropean3590thats the beauty of the finale for me. Its the grand reveal that he has manipulated almost everyone around him into getting what he ultimately wanted.
It ruined it showing him for who he really was. He sacrificed alot of loyal, faithful followers for no reason.. for a plan of the heir to not bring his army and therefore Ishido will be fighting an illegal war and the other regents will stand aside. Mariko was best friends w the heirs mother and Taranagua didn't use it to bring the heirs mother into a marriage w himself.
The women are amazing. Such strength and resilience and honor to family
A war drama isn't always about fighting said war, but preventing it. It can also be about loving the women around you and pulling your ship out of the water with your new homies!
This is perfect😭😂
Agreed, this show is about a psychopath leader who loves killing his own people. Note that the only people Tarananga killed was his closest allies and closest friends. He's clearly the enemy in this show. He even burns down people's ships for his own amusement.
The war wasn't prevented. He just made it so he has more numbers on his side in the upcoming battle.
@@MustardSkaven you don't know that. The flash forward was simply a day dream in this psychopath's head
@@SutterKrump We know the war happens cause it's in the book.
You missed how Kashigi Yabushige almost committed sepuku on side of the cliff in the water (ep 1 I think) and now successfully commits sepuku and falls in the water (episode 10). There’s a lot of full circle
yes
In the water he did it on his own volition. This time he was ordered to commit suicide because of a psychopathic leader who kills his own people and friends and who loves burning down ships.
@@SutterKrump You can look at it like that, or you can say both are his own doing… He brought both situations on himself by being led by his ego, pride and lust for power but not being able to play the game…
@@rvheem7702 and when will we be notified whether or not this "master strategy" of killing his own people worked? All we have to go on is the day dreaming of a psychopathic "leader" who killed zero enemies and who slaughtered his own people. Me personally I don't think it'll work out
also Yabushige was sitting on the wooden throne while John was on his knees.... in the last episode Toranaga was sitting there and Yabushige was on his knees.

As much as I loved the show, I don't want them to extend it making a second season.
Same, I loved this show, but continuing most likely would mean making the show worse and worse, so I think this ending is perfect
They should make Tai Pan into a series
I was just not satisfied with the quiet ending that did not feel like an ending.
"Ultimate excellence lies not in winning every battle, but in defeating the enemy without ever fighting". -Sun-Tzu Torunaga embodied that perfectly. He sacrificed as few pieces on the board as possible and ensured their deaths all served a greater purpose. The other members on the council of regents threw away the lives of their subjects like they didn't matter and gained nothing from it.
I’m absolutely satisfied with not having a S2. The ending is perfect. Shogun is not about the Battle of Sekigahara, it’s the story of how Toranaga won that battle before swords were ever even drawn. And for that direction, the ending was perfect. And I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better ending.
Shogun was an amazing mini-series for Hulu. It was a well put together production and the characters were magnificent. I see possible Emmys in this show’s future.
Shogun was not a Hulu show. It was produced and funded by FX. Hulu just showed it.

I think the finale is superb even without a huge battle scene. The title of the book is Shogun (将軍 which means general in Chinese) and the finale really shows us how brilliant Toranaga is as a general. He fought using clandestine and covert strategies. Almost Sun Tzu like. He said, he does not control the wind, only study it. He did that brilliantly as a military leader to a point that the final outcome of the battle was already decided.
Superb? The only thing Toranaga did throughout the series was kill his own people, friends and closest allies. He even admitted he burned Anjin's ship and will keep burning it solely for his own amusement. He is a complete nutcase psychopath! The enemy won in this show.
@@SutterKrump You probably misunderstood. It's not about Toranaga from a moral standpoint. Rather, it's about the show portraying him as a masterful military leader employing Sun Tzu-like tactics in winning the war before the battle even begins. That's why it's superb because the series is about Toranaga becoming the Shogun.
Chinese? Your basic Asian geography needs brushing uon
@@hermaeusmora1827 将軍 is Japanese kanji characters taken from Chinese.
@@hermaeusmora1827You know Japanese use Chinese alphabets right? He is not wrong.
All I have to say is that I was crying when Toranaga stopped the Anjin from killing himself.. How quickly he got over there and popped him like Bruce Lee had me 💀🤣
Well he needs someone to torture, and that someone is Anjin. He burned his ship and admitted he'll keep burning it solely for his own amusement because he gets off on it. That's why he kept him alive. Toranaga is the greatest psychopath in Japan. He only killed his own people throughout the entire show and is enemy number 1.
man, that hit lol
@SutterKrump The real John Blackthorne, William Adams, was made some sort of sea tradesman for Japan. He was not viewed as just a slave or barbarian by Toranaga. He was given a wife & a salary in Japan.
The actor/producer portraying Toranaga is also a martial artist. He also did his own stunt work.
"Shogun" emerges as a captivating journey into the heart of medieval Japan, showcasing valor, intrigue, and cultural richness with unparalleled finesse. The series not only transports viewers to a bygone era but immerses them in its intricacies, thanks to its meticulous attention to detail and historical accuracy. One of the standout features of "Shogun" is its breathtaking cinematography, which beautifully captures the essence of feudal Japan. From sweeping landscapes to intimate character moments, every frame is a visual feast that enhances the storytelling experience. As we revel in the triumph of "Shogun," one can't help but hope for more television shows to follow in its footsteps, striving for the same level of quality and dedication to storytelling. In an age of endless content, "Shogun" stands tall as a shining example of what television can achieve when excellence is the ONLY guiding principle.
Well said 👏🏻

There is another novel similar to Shogun that I hope to see one day adapted into a TV series called "Shike" by Robert Shea. I highly recommend it!
I like that the story of "Shogun" is concluded. It was a really good series and I loved every episode. Star Wars, and Marvel have shown us, what it looks like. If you desperartly trying to keep a movie or tv-universe alive for the (money) fans. you get "The Book of Boba Fett", "Secret Invasion" and desasters alike. I rather remember "Shogun" fondly for what it was, than being heartbroken to see what it becomes after greedy studio executives decide on a second season.
You a goofy there will be a season 2 start crying now
I like the show as a whole. I was hooked the first 4 episodes. I kept hearing they are speed running through the story from the book readers. When I look back, they went to Osaka then left then went back then left. The traditions of the historic “japans” kept me engaged
10:42 Toranaga is holding Mariko's cross as if it washed ashore, showing it could not be a dream and it made it's way back to John before he died.
Holy hell. Well spotted
What a spot bro, good job damn
No he is NOT. There have ALWAYS been tassles that hang from the arms of his kimono. You can see them when he stands up while talking to Yabushige... John has had a dream of a life which he lets go permanently when decides to commit seppuku. Thats why they flash back to that dream and he restates what Mariko said "we live and we die" and he accepts he WONT die in England in a bed . He has in that moment accepted that his fate has changed...

Absolutely the most memorable and magnificent mini-series since the original. The acting was beyond phenomenal. Thank you for the memories.
the way it ended is perfect. as much as i would love to see more, i wholeheartedly respect them for not doing a season 2. such a great show!
Loved, loved, loved Shogun. The intrigue and jockying, brilliant. The last 5 minutes brought everything to light, Toranaga's wry smile was the icing on the cake.
9/10 Ending. 1 point off cuz I wanted to see the cannons fire one last time and the start of the battle too. Not even a full episode dedicated to it, just a charge before the clash and that’s it. Imagine the Rohirrim and Gandalf’s glorious charge with the sun down to Helm’s Deep 😭
Opposite ending grade from me. I gave the finale a 3/10. I read the original novel as well as watched the 1980 show, and while I thought the first 9 shows of this new series were outstanding, the last one just left me feeling disappointed based on what I have read and have already seen. I mean, the whole "dream sequence" diversion at the beginning did not appear in either the book or the 1980s show. Why not just bring the 1975 novel to life like Peter Jackson did with the "Lord of the Rings" series? After all, I don't want someone's additional "creative" intepretation or input on a beloved work, I just want some literary work to be brought to life. Why is that such a hard thing to understand? Watch the "Lord of the Rings" series or the awesome Granada "Sherlock Holmes" shows from the 1980s as proof as to what sticking to the source material can bring.
I liked both the book and first adaptation, so I was skeptical going into this series. But this rendition was so freaking good !!! The authenticity was 100%. I don't want a 'Season 2'.. I only wish they would've done Sekigahara battle scenes. Cast was prefect !!!

John is not the white saviour of the story like it we would of assumed at the start when Toranga said John, Mariko and John's fates were intertwinned. John did not change Japan nor was he crucial part of the grand design, just a jester for king Toranaga's amusement and a distraction for Toranaga's enemies.
Yeah watchng the show I never felt John was the saviour type. The man since episoded one was swept up in Torunaga's games, living by the skin of his teeth and not really having any real power, most of the time he is a prisoner.
We were really seeing the story through John’s eyes anyway.
Truth he was a distraction but also served him much needed time to sped up thing's.
Watching the remake did motivate me to both rewatch the 1980 miniseries and reread the book, though.
Why is no one commenting how good of a review this was. Thank you
Sad to see such a captivating Series end as it did whit no follow up season where it certainly could afford but no lets cut it on sort of a cliffhanger🤦 I have not read the book so dont know how that one end🤫
The dream scene with Blackthorne on his deathbed back in England makes no sense and does not advance the storyline. They would have been better to have kept in Mariko's funeral scene, but they keep changing things. This episode was better than the last, but if you want to watch a better Shogun series watch the one from the 80's with Chamberlain as Blackthorne. It was much better.
It was good for 1980 and founded my interest for Japan then. But in retrospect it was way too "Hollywood". Blackthorne was the white adventure superstar which Chamberlain was in these days after doing the 1970s versions of Count of Monte Christo and Three Musketeers. But that is NOT John's role.
Having watched the original series in 1980 and having read the book prior to that, I was not especially impressed with the 2024 version. So much was changed without any real purpose. The conflict between Blackthorne and Father Alvito, the relationship between Blackthorne and Rodrigues, the fact that Blackthorne was a highly educated man who rapidly became fluent in Japanese (the character was a polyglot: fluent in English, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin), the dynamics of the relationships between Obi, Yabu, Kiku, and Blackthorne (Kiku eventually became Anjin's wife much to Obi's dismay). It was Obi who stopped Blackthorne from killing himself over the threat to Anjiro based on an order from Yabu. Even the Buntaro archery scene was dumbed down. The rescue of Yabu after his being washed overboard was completely changed for no apparent reason. It was just a jarring experience for someone who read and loved the book.
I AGREE 100%! It was so disappointing that I’m having PTSD - why did they turn Blackthorn into such a buffoon? They completely ruined the scene where he attempts to commit Seppuku which was such a pivotal moment in the novel and so beautifully written. It was the moment he had a breakthrough and claimed his fate-and took it into his own hands. What a disappointment this series was.
Did he really throw the cross to the sea? Or it was a dream?
@@Teefs143 Since it was not something from the book, I suppose you would have to ask the writers. There was no dream sequence in the book either.
@@peterbryantorres7096 They showed Blackthorne being able to become fluent in Japanese over a short time and they emphasized that he was a skilled pilot. And then they made it clear that he was ashamed of the way his crewmates behaved, they portrayed him as a man with honor and values that were way above his average peers. They showed him being polite and respectful, even to prostitutes. They showed him in anguish and wracked in guilt over the death of some random, unimportant villager. To me Blackthorne was unrealistically intelligent and virtuous almost to the point of comedy but you found him to be a buffoon....interesting.
The main cast and the show runner both said there will be no season 2.
So all we have to go on is this Toranaga's psychopathic vision about victory. We don't even know if his plan works. This master strategist only killed his own people not grazing a hair on his enemies' heads.

Shogun was good. I appreciate you for explaining everything in such details to understand completely
Never watched the old version of Shogun. Love this one every second of it. Oscar worthy acting, in my humble opinion.
Only two TV shows have made me cry in the past year or so. Number one Better Call Saul and now Shogun.
Perhaps when John says, Unless I win, it inspired Tokunaga to realise he took could do the impossible by winning, having felt defeated up till then. He did quote him after all at the end.
I love the writing, the costumes, the characters, no plot armor here. Really hope for a season 2 but I'm happy with just the first season!
I believe blackthorn as an old man was real. If you look at the final shot of shogun, toranaga is holding a rosary as well. Indicating blackthorn was holding the rosary was given to him by toranaga when he finally let him go
John Blackthorne (William Adam’s) never returned to England. It was absolutely just a dream, and not reality because that wouldn’t be a truthful ending. William Adams lived out the rest of his life in Japan. John saw what he would become if he held onto the loss of Mariko & returned to England, so he let go of the rosary in the lake to signify that he had let her go. He changed his fate. That was the whole point of showingJohn letting go of Mariko’s rosary.
Of the Clavell books, Gai-Jin (Foreigner) is the only other one set exclusively in Japan, albeit 268 years later during the Meiji Restoration. The last Tokugawa/Toranaga shogun is a character in the book. That would be interesting to see made into a miniseries as "Season 2", though like other commenters I still think the 1980 version was better than this one.
Amazing show, that REALLY needed at least another season
What's amazing about it? All Toranaga did was murder his own people and burning ships. Clearly a paid infiltrator, unless the goal of a great leader is to ONLY kill his own people and not even touch his enemies.

Great series, one of the best in recent years. It will be hard to continue though.
One important thing : Toranaga is behind the the burning of the ship. He promises to punish the "traitors" who did this, those being the townspeople. He doesn't care ultimately if Anjin lives or dies, or if he has to kill more townspeople in the search of the "traitors". What he cares about is Anjin's attachment to the people, to Japan and more importantly to Toranaga himself. That's all he wants to see, so when Anjin says take my life but spare the townspeople...he knows he's won, against Anjin. He knows Anjin cares. He knows that Anjin doesn't think the people are all "stupid". Toranaga has a vassal...
And he admitted he'll burn his ship again once rebuilt. He's the biggest psychopath in the show and is enemy number 1.
@@SutterKrump Yup. The whole premise is about what people are willing to do get what they want, and what people are willing to risk to do so. Underlying is the Japanese sense of duty and honor and they conflict with the 1st point. There will be sacrifice, but people do so honorbound. The older general, forget his name, he knew there was a strategy. He didn't know Toranaga's specific strategy, but he knew the end goal and he was honorbound to accept his death was necessary to the goal. Mariko the same. She knew she was a pawn in a larger scheme, but her honor demanded she sacrifice herself to the plan. The ends justify the means. Really deep, well done, enjoyed the show immensely l!
@@mikenunz duty and honor... By murdering your own people not grazing a hair on your enemy's head. I call bullshit and this is a made up fictional story. Also, there's no evidence his "master plan" even worked because there's no season 2 yet and the flash forward we saw was only a vision in this twisted psychopath's head. A "leader" like Toranaga would've been taken out immediately
@@mikenunz how do you know he got what he wanted when the battle between him and Ishido hasn't happened yet? Toranaga spent this whole season killing his own people. I was under the impression you were supposed to kill your enemies, but Toranaga does the opposite.
@@SutterKrump Well, since it's based on historical events, we know Tokugawa (Toranaga) wins the Battle of Sekigehara. But within the framework of the book itself, truthfully the outcome of the battle itself is irrelevant. This is because Toranaga's plans and schemes, how he used people, etc were all about getting a battle at all. That's it. He doesn't become Shogun without a battle. He doesn't get a battle without a plan. This part of the story is about The Plan, not the battle.
Yabushige was a great character, love how there's no rightgeous party, all of them human. I wasn't rooting for anyone, just enjoying a delightful drama.
I'm shocked people were disappointed. Got season 1 didn't have huge battles. But what made season 1 amazing was political intrigue and character development. So many characters died I expected to live. The reveal he has been wanting to be shogun the whole time. Just all of it I loved. I feel like if you had a some huge end game war people would still hate it. And they tell you where and what will happen. Ishido is going to lose. He won't have the support for the regents due to oshiba aligning with Toranaga. It was a giant chess match. And I loved it. Tho I really would have liked a season 2.
Perhaps you wouldn't be so shocked if you had read the novel or had seen the original 1980s adaptation. Maybe then you would understand why some people didn't view the finale of this 2024 show as the Second Coming of Christ. As much as I admired this new version, the last show was disappointing and left many people feeling unfulfilled (and count me in as one of them). I think they dropped the ball on this one.
@@dmacleod3843 your opinion noted - and now intend on reading the novel. I did see the original, but not with weekly anticipation as this one. as good as he was, he was still 'dr kildair' to me. thanks for your input.

Great show and really captures feudal Japanese life, customs and beliefs. Like an alien world to western customs!
Captivating series and engaging characters. Torunaga is charismatic and powerful. Mariko-sama is so captivating. She reminded me of Daenerys Targaryen. This series has a much better ending than Game of Thrones. It's much better overall. I wish there would be season 2.
Ah, it's fantastic that they've based it on the book. Absolutely loving the visual explanation thanks man. Personally, I reckon one season's just perfect. If you ask me, I'd love to see Mariko and John tying the knot and living happily ever after in London, in my dream's dream. I wld break that loyalty to the master, her death was crazy to me.
I thought for a season second, it will focus on Blackthorn rebuilding his ship until the conflict comes.
8:40 I love it when Yabushige said that. On earlier episode he said that cracking your head is much more lower than boiling to death, he also states that its not worse than being dogs eating your body. Edit: I don't think there is a need for season, its just the series ended in a hypothetical ending. I'd only 1-3 episode short for an actual ending for it
A season two would be weird. Almost every major character died. Excpet John, Torunaga, Omi, Buntaro and the Portuguese Catholics. I wouldn't be opposed to a season two, but it would be very bittersweet
this is the best show ive seen in a very long time
Didn’t they say they were only doing one season?
That's strange if they did say that. Because why didn't they say it was a limited series which is what you do in that situation.
What struck me the most about this final episode was how non-chalantly and without any ceremony Yabushige took out his blade and commited Seppuku. Hell, he wasn´t even kneeling! In the end, he did go as a Samurai though: he did not fear death.
toranaga is holding the the japanese girls neckalace that anjin threw in the water in the very last scene of episode 10. You can see it at 10:42 of this video
Absolutely sublime❤❤❤
Best show I’ve watched in a long time. The finale took me by surprise, I was expected an all out war to end of the show but I get what Toranaga was planning all along. I just hate this show came to an end.
Knowing one month later the battle of Sekigahara would take place. Tokugawa Ieyasu was out numbered 75,000 to 120,000 and only lost about 4000 warriors compared to west that lost about 32,000. Therefore winning the war and becoming Shogun.
People asking for a second season are the reason why TV keeps losing quality over time. Learn to enjoy good things as they are.
Couldn’t agree more
I'm glad Shogun came out in 2024 because if it had been released in 2023 I'd have had a tough time deciding if Shogun or Fall of the House of Usher was the better mini series that year.
We should get a series with toranaga from when he was a teen or just a sengoku jidai tv series
I have been waiting since like episode 4 or 5, for the big ol hammer to drop on a HUGE reveal/twist, of Toranaga talking alone with John, and BOOM, hitting us with English and that he's been fluent in it this whole time Full disclosure, only vaguely remembered that this was even a book, had less than 0 clue this was a miniseries in 1980 or whenever lt was lolol

No season 2 is needed... this is just perfect as it is... ❤
The final battle wasn't shown because they didn't have the budget lol
I loved the series and hope it gets a 2nd season!
It was a one and done.
no, it was already stretch enough
The executive producers have already said they won't be doing a second season. The book has been adapted, so there's nothing else to work with. If FX decided to do it anyway, even with the lesson every producer in Hollywood should have learned from Game of Throne right there in their faces, it won't be all that good. The real person Blackthorne is based on, William Adams, really did continue to live quite happily in Japan for the rest of his life. He built the Tokugawa Shogante a fleet of Western-style ships, and was even granted special permission to trade with foreign countries. He never saw his English wife or children again, though he did write them at letters. It's why we know so much about his life. The head of the British East India Company's HQ in Japan was also a close friend with Adams and wrote quite a bit about him and his family up until he left Japan in 1623.
I don't think a second season is needed, and it runs the risk of what we saw happen to Game of Thrones seasons 7 and 8. Shogun had a monumental season, it doesn't need to go beyond that.
My husband and I found the final episode of the remake to be anti-climatic, especially compared to the 1980 miniseries. We also noticed that certain scenes from the book & 1980 miniseries were transposed to other characters & even to other times: f.ex., Yabu going temporarily deaf (as Blackthorne did in the book) and going a bit crazy after Mariko's death (as Vinck did when he saw the wreck of the Erasmus), or Toranaga preventing Blackthorne's suicide to protest punishing the village for the wreck of the Erasmus (instead of Yabu preventing Blackthorne's suicide to protest punishing the village if he didn't learn Japanese quickly enough).
It's not a remake. It's the second adaptation of the novel.
Finale was absolute PERFECTION
I want your low standards.
While I knew that this series would not be able to do the book justice, a few more episodes would have been able to resolve things. Although I can understand not having the battle, just having Toranaga explain himself on a cliffside is just weak. The series has masterfully brought to life fuedal Japan along with its intrigues and violence. The finale was like watching an enormous carnival ride grind to a halt. The power/funding was cut and the producers had to wind it up before it stopped altogether and left too many threads up in the air.
Thought it was awesome....sad that its over.....it was very well done
It would have been more complete if they showed the fate of Ishido as per the book. I read the book before watching this series so the muted ending was expected to a large extent but it was still kind of anticlimactic when reading it.
When is the new AHS Delicate review
I'm fairly certain that season two has been confirmed now, though this is a few weeks after this video was published... This show is definitely game of thrones level. The political intrigue was top notch. Many don't understand that most of the civil wars fought in Japan rarely even saw armies actually engaging on the battlefield. The vast majority of them were fought in the court with schemes and a few calculated kills that forced your enemy to either escalate the situation or concede and admit defeat. The latter being more common than the former. This show does the upmost to depict that to an unhealthy degree. While the west would dedicate entire generations of men to certain death in needless civil wars, Japan generally had a different attitude to fighting amongst themselves. Their culture of honor dictated that outright public hostilities between Daimyo were generally forbidden, unless given express approval by the ruling Shogun or Emperor, depending on which currently held power at the time. Feuding nobles in the west would fight the crown as much as they would fight each other, honor be damned. Despite the anglo view of this region of the world at the time, Japan (and the east in general) were, and largely still remains, a far more civilised place than the superior military powers of the anglosphere. There is a reason they saw us as barbarians as apposed to the savages we believed them to be. Our arrogance made us appear incompetent and our general lack of respect for traditions that didn't align with our own is the reason we were viewed as morons. Largely, even today, that sentiment is still a thing in that region of the world. Europeans caused far more issues in the east than we ever solved. All the wars that occurred after our arrival are a direct result of our meddling in a region we didn't care about and had no intention of understanding...
I manned the rails of a ship in Shimano, during the Black Ship festival. Never really understood it, 'till now. Shogun got me interested and I am sad to see the miniseries' ending. Someone should continue the Barbarian's story... Even if, partly historical.
This is the moment Toranaga truly became Heishogunberg. Sasuga, Vince-dono.
Since the book and show end in the same place (pretty much) they should let it rest and end as is. That being said there’s a LOT of Japanese history that I’d love this team to bring to the screen
I think Toranaga kept yabushige close to him only because he's treacherous. I mean, without his help, ishido wouldn't have gotten mariko.
it was one of the greatest shows on TV for sure. A period anime brought to life. I'm glad they stuck to speaking Japanese throughout it. It's time westerners who haven't opened their mind to a broader world, to do so or get left behind.
No there won't be a second series of Shogun. Like the book it is it's own compleat story. But the most amazing thing is the large number of people who have rediscovered the first T.V. series. All so they can get their Shogun fix. Let's hope someone will make James Clavell's "Tai-Pan" into a new series and make it with just as much care. Cheers, Chris Perry
Sometimes duty is the death of love 😢
Ok so there won’t be a second series, but how about a movie of the battle of sekigahara using all the same actors? Basically anyone who watched shogun would defo watch that.
I only wish they cast someone other than Cosmo Jarvis to play Blackthorn. His performance was flat and robotic.
I loved it!
The Lord Torenaga actor is the same guy who was the manager of the Osaka Continental Hotel in the John Wick movies. There was sword fighting in that forth John Wick movie too. 😮
Great limited series and if Sanada want to succeed it he should make more like it and this time more heroic and battle scenes. And japanese history is full of it 👍
Even though I absolutely loved this show, I do not wish for a 2nd season. This story was beautifuly closed as it's source material. However, I would like to see some (if not all) of the other books from the Asian series of Clavell to be made into a show. Maybe Tai-Pan could be next?
Incredible show
I cant wait for them to show the battle of sekigahara in season 2, that scene just made me lose my shit. also if they show Date Masamune being played by Ken Watanabe, I'm going to be hyped
