  • I think Rick should’ve challenged it just on the fact that they were up 3-1 in the series you could’ve taken the risk

  • Button’s criticism on Petey and Marner is bang on! When you are play 10-plus a year, effort alone is not enough. You don’t always score, but there are other ways you can help the team - Petey’s play so far in round one has been terrible. He has been outplayed even by Mikeyhev, who at this time, I come to expect nothing from…

  • Pettersson in the bubble played with a ton of heart. He got knocked around, pushed over, and bullied on the outside. But he got up and went right back into the fight. I haven't seen Pettersson win a board battle in 2 years. It's not a 2 month problem, it's been years. He's become soft and floaty. Apprehensive to engage. Loses every single board battle. Gets pushed over with ease and then sulks and mopes about it. Hockey is hard and you need to fight though that. It needs to fire you up. And instead of firing Petey up, it makes him shy away and cower. Terrible signing. I wanted to trade him. He's not a player you win a cup with, he's a regular season plsyer who sells tickets and jerseys. Our owner is a doofus. We honestly could win a cup during this Miller window. But not with Petey making $11m, barring a radical change to his game.

    • Bang on comments. He's become "Hot Potato Petey" that thinks getting rid of the puck asap is worth 11 mil a yr and picking up second assists on the PP. Money has made him soft IMO.

    • Great numbers masked by streaky play. He gets bundles of points at a time but is vacant for also long streaks of time. Inconsistent at best. It hasn’t been long enough that we’ve forgotten he would split D and dangle in tough spots to take shots. Now he stands in prime scoring spots and clutches and passes. We pay him to shoot and score.

  • Big Z is the difference and he should be signed as a first priority instead of Hronek on defense. Hronek is good but not as valuable when the tough stuff and hitting are needed in the regular season and especially in the playoffs. Joshua signing is the top priority on offence. 2 valuable heart and soul guys needed on the Canucks to supplement JT Miller, Garland, Boeser and co.

    @smarty432@smarty43215 күн бұрын
  • I'm not expecting goal production specifically from Garland in the top 6. If it happens, awesome, but he's most valuable digging in the corners and his work behind the net. The issue becomes who can finish when he makes a great dish of the puck from below the goal line. We all saw the OT pass with Lindholm goal and that's what we need from him and his line. Hoglander has lots of flash moments and can move really well in the Ozone but Mikhayev and Pettersson need to add their value to that line. I'm honestly least concerned about Hoglander out of the 3 on that line. Mikayev needs to drop down the line up I think but we should also get Podz into a game to see what energy he can bring.

  • Oh my god... you can't use your stick to push a goalies leg across but you're allowed to crash feet first into a goalie and that's a good goal?

  • Huge mistake signing Peckersson. I said months ago to trade his ass... this isn't the 1st time he's had a slump that goes months and months. Peckersson is the main reason the prior coach got canned.

  • I think Tocchet greatly overestimates Nashville's PP and Vancouver's PK. He might have cost his team the game because he gets antsy. edit: underestimates PK

  • I totally agree on the Pettersson signing for the money he’s gonna be making next 8 years Omg! Looks like a horrible mistake. He needs to drive a line which he isn’t capable of. Besides the odd Damn JT and Boeser no one can score. If Peddersson had two goals this series that’s not asking much Nashville would be dusted and out.

    • @@Nickh4929 because the contract is for the next 8 years not just this year . A 25 year old is projected to play better each year probably until 30-31. Everyone forgets the future when complaining lol . Also he’s making 7.3 m at the moment so he’s probably not playing at that level either but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here .

  • Given our ability to penalty kill this series, I would have loved to see the challenge on the goal.

    @ericy3918@ericy391816 күн бұрын
  • Petterson looked decent in game 5. He blocked a shot late and was hitting early. But its looking like a mistake to sign him to that contract. For 10 million you want a guy that can dominate in the playoffs. Not a guy who struggles from febuary to may.

  • This guest usually has good takes but the more the season went along and the more success Canucks kept having, the more it seems he does not like the Canucks lol He loves Edmonton I think, which is fine. Petey was catching strays tho, while the topic was about Mitch Marner, after he already ripped Petey pretty good. Unnecessarily called him terrible lol Petey is many things but he was not terrible last night.

    • @@OG785 Like I said, he'd already ripped him and then called him 'terrible' after the topic went to another player. That's more of a hater comment/moment than astute analysis so I can't help but give him the side eye. His Oilers colours are starting to show lol

He took unsolicited shots at Petey though where even the EDM hosts didn't bite. He can say whatever he wants but this is my perception of him. I think the playoffs are bringing out everyone's, including media figures, their true team's colours, that's all lol
