At some point during my INCREDIBLE experience, I had the dream I was at the helm of a diesel railroad locomotive ‼️ The tone of the engine NEVER CHANGES‼️‼️ Driving the 747 would be better than piloting a Big Boy ‼️‼️🙋🏻‍♂️

  • Titan tires LSW1400s finally caught up to the tractor that needed them the most. Tire slip and rim slip is a battle on high horsepower tractors. If these tires were available in the 70s, I’m guessing there would be dozens of 747s and Big Equipment would still be building them today.

  • I read about this tractor in 1978 and thought wow, that's big. In those days JD, Case, and IH all topped out about 300 hp. Kinda lost track of all things Bud-like for many years. Started watching the Welker videos and this one popped up last Monday (20th). I had known the 747 was in Iowa for a few years, but only thought that someday when we go by, I'll wander off the interstate to see it (about 20 miles away). But this video and the THREAT that its going back to Montana prompted me to make the trip today, 153 miles one way. Wow! It's amazing. I so wish it could have been started up so I could have heard it, but just to climb up on the ladder and sit in the cab a second. Awesome. She lost what appears to be 10 inches in height from the old tires, but she gained almost 3 feet in width. Thanks, Welkers for all the videos. Looking forward to seeing the 747 working again. She's a little rough in the cab and needs a little refinement, like maybe your GPS system??? Did you ever find out what it weighs? BTW, in case you didn't know it, they have this video on continuous loop play in the museum meeting room on the big screen.

And how can you beat the fact that they say BOG BUD on the side of them. (although I'm sure in person the 1400's look pretty mean too) And as big as they are that's gotta be one impressive sight. • Thank you, guys. In days of whack job haters trying to rip our country apart, I can't tell you what a day brightener your video was! American in every way; you make me proud to be on the same side as the good guys who haven't sold out or felt the need to bow to the hateful liars and anarchists. God bless!

  • man this is amazing... years and years ago when is was a little kid i saw videos and pictures online of this machine. it was totally mesmerizing for me since we don't have tractors like this in the netherlands and i have always been so impressed by it.. some time ago i found your channel which caught my attention because of the big bud's which reminded me of when i was a little kid. now seeing you guys filming with this tractor, it's all coming together! thank you for documenting this piece of my childhood.

    • Have you ever just thought of just distracting them by pointing away from the tractor and yelling, " Look! Cotton candy!" While they are distracted, just hide the tractor in the back of your pickup. Problem solved. You're welcome .

  • Any of you guys here of Big Roy that was built by Versatile farm Equip. in Winnipeg Canada in the 60 's. I sat in it in Versatiles yard in 68. Not quite as big as Big Bud , but still so impressive it was sent to Russia for demostrations. And 10 to 12 years ahead of Bud.

  • awesome vid and awesome Bud. i would love a tour inside that building and love to hear a bit of info about each tractor there. i can't go there in person (bit too for to go from Aus) so a virtual tour would be awesome. i would even pay for a virtual tour.

    • Mike would say "I like it 👌. But it only has a top speed of 12.5 mph. That I can go in the field. Pulling everything I got. Cause that is the top gear. Come Big Bud I need more speed. Make me one that goes faster. She alittle under weight too. Put some more weight on the old girl. She can pull it. She heavy on the front and light in rear. She needs more butt !" Ha My John Deere weights in 60k. And she is a little top heavy if you know what I mean." Mike is a hoot !
