I had a friend like brother who could do like this except CNC as he did not have it. He would have preferred to remove it by some another method, I think.   • That’s an incredibile job, just of my thought, when you install the new chip and you turn on the phone, does it goes on recovery mode and you can just install a clean version of IOS with iTunes or you need to flash the unity with specific software ?

    • @@kingsener But lets assume the whole reason I want to upgrade my 12 to a 16 next season is to bump up my storage. The 12 is arguably a great phone still. I've replaced the battery recently under Apple Care, so it could serve me well for another 3-4 years. I'm wondering the cost advantage of performing a memory swap like this vs buying a new phone with more storage (trade-in value applied).

    • That's why I use CNC to physically remove the chip. The temperature needs to reach 500 degrees to remove with a hot air gun. High temperature will affect the function. When installing, just use a medium temperature of 250 degrees, which will have less impact.
