In this video you can find the “Luys i Luso” album live performance at Jazz Sous Les Pommiers 2015 performed by Tigran Hamasyan and the Yerevan State Chamber Choir (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Harutyun Topikyan).
➡️ “Luys i Luso” is the seventh album by Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan. As part of the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, the work was performed in 100 churches around the world. The album is arranged for piano and voices, and features the Yerevan State Chamber Choir with conductor Harutyun Topikyan. Tigran Hamasyan is a pianist and played the piano in the recording for the album. Unlike Hamasyan's previous albums, the music is more heavily inspired by the Armenian folk style and draws from Armenian sacred music. The tracks on the album are varied and include developments of fifth-century sharakans to modern-day hymns.

What a beautiful mind, what a beautiful culture... Greetings from Türkiye, Armenian people were once the most valuable assets of our lands. We separated them from their ancient past. Once I visited Yerevan, there was only kindness there for me, Barev dzez🇦🇲🇹🇷
What a gift all these recent uploads have been. So many performances we would otherwise never see
well, most of them were on youtube before, they stayed online on vimeo, but yeah, its cool having them back on youtube
He is the best of our times.
Tigran really is a gift to humanity.
Հրաշալի կատարում, շնորհակալություն բոլորին, Աստված օրհնի👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Surb Astvats is a song that comes little by little, takes us by the edges and when we realize it we are completely drowned in tears.
Tigran's music simply reflects the human condition and history in an honest way. There is no need for words, just listen. This concert is monumental.
There are no words to describe the feelings
This performance is exquisite and I could literally listen to this allllll day.
Богом поцелованный человек.

the last song is the lord's prayer in Armenian, the song version of hayr mer re-interpreted by Tigran
@@charbelabetian6522 Thank you, edited the tracklist!
@@charbelabetian6522 On the album, that tune is listed as Orhnyal E Astvats. Is that just an alternate title they came up with then?
@@krimsworld This is the christian prayer in armenian, the same prayer is called differently depending on the region you come from ( we call it hayr mer in my region). I didn't check its name on the album therefore I am most probably wrong, however both names refer to the same prayer :)
@@charbelabetian6522 Sorry Mr. Abetian: The last hymn is definitely "Orhnyal é Astvats"
Սա շատ գեղեցիկ է, շնորհակալություն 🙏

Love this album and this religious aspect of Tigran. So grateful to see the live version (thanks for the upload)
I accidentally read "rebellious" aspect haha but in this day of age I guess being religious is almost a kind of rebellion!
Sublime! I was woken early and then put this on while I semi slept again till dawn. Beautiful.
A real gift, thanks for sharing!
Great❤❤❤
I never would have thought of combining these two styles, but I love it!

Tigran+ Medieval Armenian Orthodox singing+ awesome Attack on Titan character clothe designs. Superb!
Genial, como siempre. Saludos desde Canelones, Uruguay.
Beautiful, I particularly love the fact that Tigran plays so much of the accompaniments in the high register, he gets such wonderful sounds up there.

They needed to swap one of the tenors so that everyone has a -yan surname! Apart from that - WONDERFUL stuff!!!
It looks like a typo, though.

Джаз это свобода, а религия это рабство. при всем уважении.
:/
При всем уважении - исключительно православной взгляд на религию. Все мега джазовые исполнители от Mahalia Jackson и далее вверх и вширь по списку вышли из spirituals.
