I Finally Visited St. Maarten!
The Caribbean island of Saint Martin/Sint Maarten is an iconic vacation destination and home to just over 70,000 people.
It's also a bucket list destination for aviation enthusiasts, made famous for the low landings over Maho Beach at the end of the runway at Princess Juliana International Airport.
After saving up for a while, an opportunity came up to go and I booked a vacation there for February last year.
So, join me, as I spend a week in paradise and see what this amazing island has to offer!

My dad’s a pilot for Air Canada and a few years ago my family was able to watch on a livestream as he landed at St. Maarten
Man, didn't every avgeek see those 480p videos back in the day... what a memorable trip!

That’s awesome Alex! Shame KLM doesn’t send their B747’s there anymore, I was there when I was young and I still remember the massive B747 flying right above my head.
Yeah, me too. The economy is on the down side, not enough passengers to fill the massive KLM bird.

Glad you got to make this trip. I really enjoyed my stay there many years ago. We rented a car and hit every beach there during one week. The jet blast at that beach is no joke, saw a few people who were standing at the fence get blasted onto the road. I think that's why they put that mini fence in front of it now.

One of the best trip reviews I've seen from St. Maarten. You really did it justice, I went back in 2022 and it was one of the most amazing places I've ever visited. When the Air France A330 departs west it's hilariously loud and I got a kick out of hearing all the car alarms going off!

Congratulations on 100,000 subs! I love watching your videos. I just got back from a trip from Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I stayed at an all inclusive as well, and it was awesome. Our approach into Montego Bay airport was one of the coolest in my life. Caribbean airports are awesome. Keep up the great work!

I visited the island in 2013 on a Caribbean cruise and would love to return. We had a great tour guide that day, who took us to Maho Beach among many other places. I was one of the few people on the tour who knew about it as I had been watching the KLM 747s coming and going on KZhead.

We were suppose to go to Saint Martin in 2 weeks and my wife has a medical issue so we cant go and our friends are going still i am going to show them this video because we are alsostaying at Sonesta Great Video Alex and we will get there some day soon

Congratulations on 100K viewers and especially on your trip to SXM! I made my pilgrimage there in 2008 but was only at Maho Beach for one afternoon, as I was there to begin a catamaran cruise. (The highlight was standing under a landing AF A-340!) I am still planning on a week there some day to spend spotting on Maho. Some day…
