Hello hope you're having a good day
As always
I'm pretty sure you and Edwin are in a competition to see who is my worst customer! 😀
Haha, void his warranty :-P
30x173mm chambered BFG variant when
Edwin tests your rifles on materials. Scott torture tests your rifles REAL WORLD.
Scott is the worst Serbu salesman, EVER!
🤣
Scott has achieved a new milestone. He has very effectively turned body armor into a lethal weapon
😂 yes
And broke a 3rd rn50
Hes turned tables into a lethal weapon too 😂
the thing is, is it really the body armour that is leathal when it has an almost 90 gram piece of lead and copper pushing it?
That's why NYC banned it lol
KB's discussion with his wife before hitting the range had to have been interesting to anyone that's married. "Honey, I'm off to the range with the serbu to fire some extra uber spicey powerful 50bmg loads." The fact that he somehow made it to the range after this is fascinating.
How does that line from the old song go? "Them that asks no questions, isn't told a lie..."
She just increases his life insurance, then packs him a lunch.
Or he just says, "Honey, I'm out..." 🤷🏻
@@bluefalconssuck5881 Lmfao 😂
More like, "See you later, Baby, I gotta go "do some stuff" at the range and pick up that diamond bracelet you admired at the jewelry store."
One day Scott is gonna turn up with a 20mm anti tank rifle and that scares me.
Yeah, I already petitioned the ATF to let him have an Inkuzi PAW. Still waiting to hear back. 🤨🙄😒😑😐
I'd like to see him demonstrate a Denel NTW-20, personally.
Or a 950 jdj
Don't worry, Mark Serbu is working on a 20mm for Scott.
Anzio Ironworks 20mm. I've been hoping either him or Matt will get one, but no luck yet.
Mark is getting to the point where he doesn't wanna answer the phone for Scott anymore 😆 🤣
I'm pretty sure Scott calls him before just in case.
Doing the destructive testing for him.
Honestly I don't think he minds seeing this. He's the type of business owner who would take this and make improvements to the design. Now he knows that JUST IN CASE he may want to make a change to his thread pitch, to something with more strength than his previous setup(not that it the gun was inadequate but better is better so safer) AND that he may want to look into a deeper penetrating weld setup, possibly do something like a dovetail setup imo and then weld that together on the sides. Easy Peasy tbh and because his guns are proven reliable under NORMAL operation, he can market the changes as a Super Duty/Ruggedized model and have a positive marketing plan around that.
@@jackhall290 in other words, new model RN50-BDOBS (built different, over built stupid)
why he need to made cheapest 50bmg gun for pistol powder(4-10X psi or more and very fast pressure build up) round or 4x of recoil round.(2x bullet weight and no muzzle brake) This is best riffle of test dangerous round but you should do with string or remote. No one want to test those on 10k 50BMG.
Seems you learnt your lesson when it comes to unknown rounds, glad your still here for our entertainment.. Love your work.. Merry Xmas from here in Australia to you and your family.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I like how Scott is always pulling a string from behind a truck when firing new 50 BMG rounds since he almost died, yet he always jokes about it by showing the neck scar with a chuckle. A real likeable dude.
Absolutely amazing how much energy there is in a rifle/gun projectile. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and share it
That projectile is so big you can actually track it with your eyes. Edit: You absolutly need to redo that body armor test but with a balistic dummy behind instead of the water jug. It would be awesome to see what that wad of kevlar going balistic would do to a torso.
You may have been better off being hit by the round then with the armor on for sure. But I agree I'd like to see that as well.
I second this motion🙋
FOR SCIENCE !!!
Hahaha I was just going to suggest that 😅 Great minds think alike 😂👍
Yesss! I am very curious about this tooo
I toured a lab where they were working spider silk. The director said that everyone always asks if you could make a bullet proof vest of of the stuff. He said, "Yes, but spider silk's strength is dynamic. That means it would stop the bullet, but only after it went through you." Good visual representation of that.
That's awesome.
Insanely strong stuff but it’s way too stretchy. Not good for bullet proofing a vest.
I have no idea where i heard this. That one reason early China protected silk was because an arrow would not penetrate it. The arrow tip would still enter the body but not break the silk. So the arrow could be removed from the soldier by pulling the silk out of the wound. This kept the wound clean and prevented poisoned arrow heads from poisoning the injured person. Kinda makes sense to me but I have never seen it tested. Of course this would have been against stone, bronze or iron arrowheads. Obviously modern broad heads would slice right thru it.
@@martinswiney2192 interesting
Dynamic strength is what would make it *perfect* for a bullet-proof vest. That's why fiberglass and carbon fiber were never successfully used in body armor: the fibers are very strong, but too brittle, the bullet just punches straight through. I suspect the director simply didn't know much about ballistics, especially because fabric woven from spider silk actually has already been used to stop a bullet, specifically the silk of the Madagascar Golden Orb Spider.
Kentucky ballistics is solely responsible for picnic tables sky rocketing in price 🤣🤣🤣🤣
A newby here. I found it a kind of funny at first that you were behinding the truck with that wire, but what a blow... now looking into your channel I have learned about your accident and holy-cow happy to have you with us brother. .50 is no joke.
Glad to see you goofing around with your old injury while also taking safety measures. You are a strong man! Respect!
He shoved his thumb into his open neck wound. Dude's a badass.

Once bitten, twice shy. Thank you for being mostly safe! The reason these videos are so awesome is because you are in them, so keep being smart brother.
And today, that shyness paid off. I mean, sure the gun didn't detonate like last time, but with the force required to break those welds, it probably could.
Great song
That intro legit made me instantly scream laugh, and have tears streaming down my face from it. Classic! I'm also glad you were pulling a string instead of your finger on the trigger. I figured that would happen. But these rounds were glorious, thanks for the content!
Thank you for not cursing. That's a massive breath of fresh air. You always make me laugh with those short skits at the beginning of your videos!!

Dang. The amount of energy that round has is wild! To not only deform the plate ,but freaking knock back the water jug like a rocket is insane!
Good to see you making fun at yourself and even better learning a lesson from past experience
The gun coming apart on that last shot just show's how brutal the energy that round has. I still can't wrap my head around how bad that recoil must be if one was actually dumb enough to shoulder a gun firing this round. But on the flip side; imagine how badass it would be to see a machine gun spitting out these rounds
that's why you buy a stick a thumb in it T shirt before you shoot it,
I think firing that round in a machine gun would destroy the gun. Despite the machine gun being made to deal with recoil, firing that round consecutively would be murder on it since it's the heaviest 50 cal.

I absolutely love this channel, you can see how Scott enjoys making the videos. He makes funny and Interesting content. keep it up 💪💪
OMG. You crack me up every time. Keep it up. Amazing stuff.
That is a comedically large bullet. The muzzle energy on these has gotta be literally off the charts.
Actually, I bet it has significantly less muzzle energy than a typical 50 cal round. Bell curves and diminishing returns and all that.
The amount of energy transfer needed to turn the kevlar itself into a lethal projectile is astounding 🤯 As brave and tough as Scott is I'm not surprised he chose to remote fire it. Great video and an incredible display of power. 💪😎👍
Well the gun did explode on him once before, that’s the scar on his neck he shows off. It actually almost ended em.
@@Zal-TheBug thats where just put a thumb in it came from. the dude is brave just handling firearms after that.
Kevar going through center mass and crushing the spine... I'd say it's still deadly.
@@johnwurfel2862 More like splatter-mist-blown in half. There'd be no spine, or much else for that matter. This is one of those cases where NOT wearing Level IV would be slightly more survivable since that much energy transfer just spreads out, mashing everything instead of just poking an admittedly big hole. You can live a short time with a hole in you, maybe (like a million to one but better than none) even long enough to be gotten to a Level I trauma center, but you can't live with the equivalent of an Abrams track over your torso. That plate turned a .50 BMG into a Revolutionary War cannon ball. Yeah, still deadly.
why he scared shot that gun by himself? why using a rope?🤔

I love your humor about the incident. you are a master.
If you can get more of this ammo, I would actually be really interested in seeing how is performs when it hits ballistic gel, I would also be interested in seeing what a solid brass round of these would do or any other overpowered variant of these would do. Also if you can get your hands on anything capable of firing a 20mm, id love to see how they compare in terms of ballistics. If I remember correctly, the 20mm rounds we in Denmark use in our F16 fighter jets are around 1500 grains, so this 50 cal being 1300 grains, should produce quite interesting results.
Agree
Yeah but your auto cannon 20mills are sent downrange using about 4 times the powder lol

Same here, I’m disappointed and surprised he didn’t test ballistics gel.
20mm makes a 50bmg look like a 30-06...
I have a feeling Scott doesn’t even own any weights. He just works out using the tables. Edit: The fact that the armour plate stopped that round point blank mind boggles me
"Stopped the round" is a bit generous... More like the body armour became best buddies with the round and decided to go with it for a devastating trip into the target!

Pretty dang good considering that's basically their whole thing, TFM is a great channel
Infinitely? I guess some infinities are, in fact, smaller than others. I wouldn't necessarily use a term referring to a quantity to define an increase in quality. Especially one referring to an endless or inexhaustible quantity. Perhaps exponentially or geometrically better if you want to stick with the mathematical theme. I don't know. You could actually analyze frame rates, shutter speeds, ISO levels, and resolutions to give an actual percentage of improvement... But, that might be too much to ask. Especially from someone who doesn't understand the concept much less the definition of infinity.
I think he needs to do a collaboration with the slow-mo guys

At first when you said you were gonna be firing the 50 from the lead sled I thought you were scared of that big 1300 grain round. The 700 nitro is 1000 and you are the recoil master. For the last round I was like oh man Scott should shoot this one regularly since the others were okay...then the gun snapped in half and suddenly I was glad Scott didn't think like I think 😂
Scott used to be a thinker like you. Then he took a shrapnel to the neck.
To be fair, last time Scott had a "Just one more shot" Mentality with sketchy ammo It ended up in him making good use of his thumb.
Even if it had no risk of exploding, I don't think even he would like to absorb that recoil into his shoulder.
I turned down my volume because I knew a boom was coming, then it didn't come, so I turned my volume back up, then BOOM. You got me Scott, you got me.
My neck itched for this one, glad you did it behind the car!
Here's the thing - From a Mechanical Engineering perspective - Mark Serbu must love you Scott. That's some solid destructive real-life testing that he can use to better improve the product. The RN-50 is going to be built like a tank in the latter serials LOL
Since you're an actual mechanical engineer, maybe you can explain to Mark and the design team why such an extremely critical/important area like the hinge that holds the upper receiver to the lower receiver should be an integral part and not just welded on like an afterthought. Idk what they were thinking with that decision, lol. This is the second RN50 that Scott has broken in catastrophic fashion. They need to redesign it before someone actually dies or lives through a more gruesome accident than Scott did.
