    • Actually,short faced bear couldnt run at all,atleast at high speeds or for long periods of time. This is because it couldnt run like a normal preadator as it was so huge and did not have any tail if it ran it would break its leg. Instead, scientists theorize it used its massive size and power to scare animals and steal kills. Or kill massive prey that cannot run fast like giant sloths.

  • Interestingly, some short face bears were even bigger then this, as there is a cave where short faced bear remains were found in north america with claw marks 15 feet high on ceiling, meaning some short faced bears could reach heights of 13 feet or more. Just imagine a bear that could look into your bedroom window in a 2 story house standing on it's hind legs.

Polar Bear average 450 Kg, the Kodiak is also actually larger and bulkier, Polar Bears are considered the Biggest Land Predators because Kodiaks are mostly herbivorous than carnivorous. Cave Bear averages 500 Kg, around the same size of the Largest Modern Day Bears, 1,000 Kg isn't supported. Short Faced Bear averages 800 Kg.

    • It's like the red velvet ant. It's not an ant, it's a wasp. The koala bear is not a bear but a marsupial.

  • You know the kermode bear, cinnamon bear and American black bear are all the same thing right? They’re all American black bears

    @theAverageJoe25@theAverageJoe25 Жыл бұрын
    • Well, cinnamon may refer to a colour morph of any American black bear, but it's also the name of a subspecies, as is kermode.

  • This bear would have eaten modern day Polar, Kodiak and Grizzly bears. It likely was feasting on Woolly Mammoth, enormous Musk Ox, and eating humans at will until the Humans invented the Clovis Tip spear to counter it.

  • This bear was almost two tons in weight. Not a TON; *Two* *TONS* It *dwarfed* a modern day Polar bear. It's height was that of a sheet of plywood stood tall length up, PLUS another *added* one-half sheet of plywood AGAIN. It was approaching the absolute maximum of prehistoric hot-climate mammalian *gigantism* It is extremely nightmarish scary to think that a type of *dog* was *this* *gigantic* And it was less of an omnivore and far more purely a *CARNIVORE*
