Known for hits "Take a Picture" and "Hey Man, Nice Shot," FILTER's new album The Trouble With Angels is far heavier than their previous, more politically-charged Anthems for the Damned. A few days before Richard Patrick and the band were scheduled to play Bowery Ballroom in NYC, FILTER stopped by LWMB's HQ and belted out three acoustic tunes. Watch and enjoy!

I remember the first time this song aired on the radio, the radio dj said " such a nice song". He's correct and it's just a phenomenal tune, still listening in 2024.
It's got a magical feeling.
37 years old listening in 2021...damn! remember when this was on MTV...fuck I'm old.
Me too!!
me too man
ne too
Try 60. Filter kicks ass
@@nathanielovaughn2145 right behind you 55 God i love this kinds music, remember the day it came out . Ran to store for the cd
Best live version of this song I've found!
Check out NateW101 he sings it amazingly
Absolutely it is, agreed!
Don't get why they don't do it accoustic live at their concerts as it was in the studio recording
The world becomes right when talented cool guys sing and play quitar in magical , harmonious musical wonder .
love this song, sounds PERFECT acoustic. Rare find
I absolutely love his voice
Its march 26, 2023 sunday morning. Still listening. Greetings from philippines
still listening 2022 my fav song
The T-1000's brother sure is a great singer.
+Rory Parent lmfao
He might be a T-5000!
Rory Yeah. I like dat.
Enjoyed the comment as much as the song. 😆
Holy shit! They're brothers?
Great song, I wish they would have got bigger, they are a very talented band. I was 35 when I first heard this song and I'm in my fifties now and still love it!
same here, you old bastard
Did you know his brother is the villain in Terminator 2? I had no idea they were related.
I first heard the song in "The girl next door" movie. Fell in love immediately ❤
Takes me back to being 16-17 years old all over again :)
Yes! Now im 32 and back in the days I was 16 when listen this song for the first time
Hell yeah!
true...
The guitarist on the right looks like the love child of Anthony Kiedis and Lou Ferrigno.
I'm smelling what you're stepping :)
Nailed it, brother!!!
What about the guitarist from the left. Is that same bloke with blonde hair on recent videos?
Add the percussionist on the left looks like river cuomos
... And Fred Gwynne :-)
I love that he didn't simp out and remove the higher notes from the acoustic version. So many bands do that. The goo goo dolls did an acoustic version of 'Iris' where the chorus should be an A4 they did it a full octave down (Which is basically the verse) ..Or Foo Fighters' Everlong same deal. Then again, you might wind up with a 'Puddle Of Mudd' 'About a Girl' fiasco..
Probably because they can’t hit the notes anymore. Pretty sure if Filter were to do this now, you’d see the same thing.
Kills me that groups like this disappear from the radio, meanwhile it's the same poppy shit over and over again. This is talent, no help from technology!
***** what state?...
Its cuz they sold out and became those shitty pop artists
This is like Filter's poppiest song lol
@@justinmraap yeah for sure but its so good
And then you got dummies that comment about the appearance of the guitarist. School yard bitches. Who cares what they look like. Raw talent
This song is breezing to my soul
Tears in my eyes. Incredible song thats super meaningful to me. I remember being 11 and recording it on my tape on the radio crying my eyes out. Rough times. Much better now but this songs takes me right back and I’m sure that kid would be super happy where he is now.
One of my favorite songs from 1999 ❤🎉
That fender acoustic almost completely drowned out that gibson jumbo. I've never understood why people always say fender don't make good acoustics.
Just heard this on the radio. I was like Omfg they're playing this!!?? Came home and directly put it on. And looked for a live version this was impressive. Brings so many memories back.
Still can't believe what this song is about. Makes it that much better.
for some reason, Patrick's voice just made me shed some tears
Great stuff. This is a wonderful moment. Love vids like this. Real musicians without the bullshit.
Fuck yeah
**cough cough bts billie eilish modern rap**
that voice though is so beautiful so unique, so calm
Girl Next Door brought me here. Great scene with a beautiful song.
Was part of the lighting crew that shot the original video to this epic song. Great memories.
That "Hey Dad, what do you think about your son now" moment.
This song is a huge part of my childhood. Much love.
Damn his voice sounds so good. Pretty damn close to the studio version. This is one of the songs growing up in the 90s that stuck with me, some of these are so close to my heart simply because it reminds me of my childhood.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Who would thought the songs like this we'd listen to on MTV while getting ready to ride the bus to school would turn out to be more than just a song.
Are you kidding??? It sounds like TRASH lmfao WHAT??? like the album?! You might wanna listen to the album again... doesn't sound ANYTHING like this. They use SO much FX in the album track. Which is okay but it's just a fact Also what you're hearing here is HARMONIZING... And it still sounds flat Actually this makes me feel like I could have been a singer.... I can ALMOST sing this good (minus the falsetto highs). It's amazing what auto tune cab do
@@davidjones8043lol true
I loved this song, what a great band and time.
The Golden days of MTV. I can’t believe I’m 41 years old. 📺
Im 37 bro.. i miss the good old days when butthurt wasnt even a thing :)
Love this song. First heard it when I was an adolescent. Really appreciate it. Took me through those confusing stages of life...
One of the best songs ever made in my opinion
After acoustic session this song became to sparkled with new colors in my eyes! Perfect vocal and acoustic performance - harmonics tandem!
Still listening in 2023.. love it they sound the same after all these years..
LOVE this acoustic version!!!
Goosebumps all over my body, and I can not stop listen to it..
I LOVE how much fun they're having while playing and singing...! This is a hymn of nostalgia.
I was waiting for THAT PART ... hey dad what do you think about your son now!!!
I still love this song so much. It’s a part of my soul. Thanks for writing it singing it getting it out here. It’s important to me this song. ❤❤❤
One of the best songs of all time
it's just one of those songs that just won't leave your memories. Love it
Fuck me, great version and his voice is still spot on 👏🏻👏🏻
2 years ago today, I lost my dad to cancer. All I want to say is... Hey Dad, what do you think of your girl now?!
This needs to be seen by more people, glad I found this.
There are so many digital effects in the industry that until you see a live performance like this, you almost can't appreciate how great a band truly is!
When you have no one to turn to, music is there. When there's no one to take your picture I will. Just to remember that you're not alone.
one of the best acoustic performance i've ever seen.
Believe me people that if I was ever stranded on an island, this song would make happy and bear all my days ...
Looking forward to seeing them at Sonic Temple 2023
playing the hell outa' that egg!
Epic, especially that scream
he has such a beautiful voice
This is my “Life’s” song, glad to have come across this 🥹
This song speaks to my soul.
OK... I'm not the only one, I listened to this song when I was about fifteen and I never knew the name until now that I'm 33...I was driving and listening to the radio and they played it. So I could see the name of the song ...
Limewire was that OG cd sales killer
Still listening in 2023…
Love watching Filter, Richard Patrick is awesome!!
a fitting song released at the end of the 90's to cap the 90's music scene
This song saved alot of young men years ago. I am one of them.
That was AMAZING!!! You guys rock.
This was my favorite song my senior year of high school (2000) and I still listen to it constantly.
Same!
legendary, thanks for uploading this one.
Omg....that voice
heard it in mall yest had to revisit it .beautiful song🙂
shereen yes
My favorite version of this song. Heavy rock acoustic sound. Just the right amount of... egg. and harmony. Perfect.
best of the best
This still rocks in 2019!!
It came out when I was 17 and in high school. Can’t get over this version. This song has been on my mind all day. I never really understood it as I do today.
spot on.... had the album back in the day... but that is so good
The dude with the egg shaker knows it all depends on him and buddy, he will deliver.
Feels like I'm back again in 1999, that was the year I heard this song.
I love his voice.
Excelente grupo ,esta canción me trae recuerdos y se me eriza la piel cada vez que la escucho, gran talento de éstos artistas 💯👌👍💪
Damn, this was a great performance.
Fuck yeah Still love this song after so many years
Hey man...Nice Shot.... with this acoustic version! Now I have to go grab my guitar and play, thanks!
Just one more song on God's own playlist.
Ironic given Richard Patrick is an atheist!
An emotional feel in another layer of 'Take a Picture'
These vocal harmonies are so on point, great song
Such an awesome song. Brings up great memories
Chills!!!♡♥♡
Best studio version of a live version I've ever heard!
Didnt disappoint. I am looking for a live version and check if he can get the high notes.
X years later... still with the best on YT
LOVE LOVE LOVE I never EVER get tired of this song for all these years. Just love this
Sounds killer, great job guys !
incredible
I love this song so much!!
Richard Patrick still has it man.... Fuck Yeah!!!!!!
Where is the good music gone? I miss the times where artists like Filter where there
No worries, we've got Cardi B now!
They knocked it out of the park with this acoustic version. I'll take a good acoustic or good live performance over a studio version any day of the week.
brings back memories!
Dude with the shaker (presumably their drummer) is really bringing a lot to the table...
Great up to the "whatayathinkaboutyoursonnow" part... but i very much enjoyed it.
This was one of those songs that I loved when it was originally released, and I love it now. The end.
Filter is just plain AWESOME!
Makes me smile....
Absolutely Love ❤
Wow! I just love this. I got friggen cold chills
